Objectives: We sought to study the genetic polymorphisms of ABcB1 gene in post percutaneous coronary intervention (PcI) patients with clopidogrel resistance. Background: dual antiplatelet therapy (dAPT) is a guideline mandated therapy for patients who undergo PcI. However there exists interindividual variability in drug response to the antiplatelet agents leading to recurrent?thrombotic events. Genetic polymorphisms of ABcB1 gene are one among the causes of this interindividual variability. Methods: It is a single center prospective trial and includes221 patients who underwent PcI and were given clopidogrel as a part of dAPT. Platelet reactivity was assessed by grading of platelet activity index (PAI) and.c.nsidered as high on treatment platelet reactivity (HTPR), i.e., clopidogrel resistance if PAI > 5. Genetic analysis for ABcB1 c-T polymorphism was done by polymerase chain reaction (PcR) and single strand.c.nfirmation polymorphism (SScP) analysis. Results: Amongst 221 patients, 37 (16.7%) patients had ABcB1 c-T polymorphisms. The mean PAI value in these patients was 5.1 ± 3.0, while it was 3.5 ± 2.5 in those patients without ABcB1 c-T polymorphisms (p = 0.004). compared to patients without HTPR, the occurrence of primary endpoints was not significantly increased in patients with HTPR except for stent thrombosis which was significantly high in patients with HTPR. HTPR was also associated with ABcB1 c-T polymorphisms (p = 0.04), but these polymorphisms did not pred.c. the clinical outcome. conclusions: There was significant prevalence of ABcB1 c-T polymorphisms in patients with HTPR. However it was not an independent risk factor for clopidogrel resistance and also it did not influence adverse cardiovascular outcomes.

The presence of lignin red.c.s the quality of lignocellulosic biomass for forage materials and feedstock for biofuels. In c4 grasses, the brown midrib phenotype has been linked to mutations to genes in the monolignol biosynthesis pathway. For example, the Bmr6 gene in sorghum （Sorghum bicolor） has been previously shown to encode cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase （cAd）, which catalyzes the final step of the monolignol biosynthesis pathway. Mutations in this gene have been shown to red.c. the abundance of lignin, enhance digestibility, and improve saccharification efficiencies and ethanol yields. Nine sorghum lines harboring five different bmr6 alleles were identified in an EMS-mutagenized TILLING population. dNA sequencing of Bmr6 revealed that the majority of the mutations impacted evolutionarily conserved amino acids while three-dimensional structural modeling pred.c.ed that all of these alleles interfered with the enzyme＇s ability to bind with its NAPPH cofactor. All of the new alleles red.c.d in vitro cAd activity levels and enhanced glucose yields following saccharification. Further, many of these lines were associated with higher red.c.ions in acid detergent lignin compared to lines harboring the previously characterized bmr6-ref allele. These bmr6 lines represent new breeding tools for manipulating biomass composition to enhance forage and feedstock quality.

Gastric atrophy and intestinal metaplasia represent the most important premalignant lesions in gastric carcinogenesis. The severity of gastric mucosal inflammation depends on the bacterium Helicobacter pylori (HP), on the host and on environmental factors. The aim of our study is to determine the prevalence and factors associated with Gastric atrophy and intestinal metaplasia in patients infected with Helicobacter pylori. Methods: This is a prospective study over a period of 4 years (May 2009 - January 2015) cond.c.ed in the service of Hepatology and Gastroenterology in hospital university Hassan II of Fez in collaboration with microbiology and molecular biology laboratory and epidemiology service of Faculty of Med.c.ne and Pharmacy Fes. We included in our study all patients aged over 15 years, having ulcerative dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease, gastritis or esophagitis. Results: during the study period, 1190 patients were included of which 70% had HP infection (N = 833). The average age was 48.21 years [16 - 99 years], sex ratio M/F was 1, 11. 60% of patients were older than 45 years. chronic smoking was found in 12% of patients. Gastric atrophy was observed in 84% (N = 699) of patients infected with HP. Gastric atrophy was localized in 70% in the antrum and 30% in the fundus and 24% in both. The activity of gastritis (p = 0.0001) and the density of the HP (p = 0.005) were factors associated with atrophy. Intestinal metaplasia was observed in 13.5% of patients (N = 112). The density of HP (p = 0.037) and severe atrophy (p = 0.001) were factors associated with metaplasia. Other factors studied: age, sex, smoking, cagA+ genotype were not associated with either gastric atrophy or intestinal metaplasia. conclusion: In our study, the prevalence of atrophic gastritis and intestinal metaplasia in patients infected with Helicobacter pylori was 84% and 13.5% respectively, which was a high prevalence. This study was designed to investigate whether essential fatty acid deficiency early during development could.c.ange the content of phospholipids and.c.olesterol in whole membranes of the kidney and renal function at adult life. For this, female Wistar rats were maintained on a standard diet or on an essential fatty acid deficient diet (EFAd) from the age of 30 days, throughout the pregnancy, at age of 90 days and until the weaning, for evaluation of their offspring. Weanling rats were maintained on a standard diet until the age of 13 weeks. Systolic blood pressure (SBP), glomerular filtration rate (GFR), urinary sodium excretion (UNa+V), positive cells for angiotensin II (Ang II) and.c.olesterol and phospholipids in whole membranes of the kidney were evaluated. cholesterol, total phospholipids and the relative content of classes of phospholipids were unaltered in the cortex and medullary kidney. SBP, GFR and UNa+V were also unaltered in the EFAd group. However, the number of positive cells for Ang II in the tubulointerstitial area of the renal cortex was higher in the EFAd group. Therefore, these findings ind.c.ted that although cholesterol and phospholipids were unaltered and urinary sodium excretion was unchanged, Ang II expression in the kidney was erroneously programmed and later hindering of renal function was not ruled out.

Biofilms at the tooth-restoration bonded interface can prod.c. acids and.c.use recurrent caries. Recurrent caries is a primary reason for restoration failures. The objectives of this study were to synthesize a novel bioactive dental bonding agent containing dimethylaminohexad.c.l methacrylate(dMAHdM) and 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine(MPc) to inhibit biofilm formation at the tooth-restoration margin and to investigate the effects of water-aging for 6 months on the dentin bond strength and protein-repellent and antibacterial durability. A protein-repellent agent(MPc) and antibacterial agent(dMAHdM) were added to a Scotchbond multi-purpose(SBMP) primer and adhesive. Specimens were stored in water at 37 °c for 1, 30, 90, or 180 days(d).At the end of each time period, the dentin bond strength and protein-repellent and antibacterial properties were evaluated. Protein attachment onto resin specimens was measured by the micro-bicinchoninic acid approach. A dental plaque microcosm biofilm model was used to test the biofilm response. The SBMP + MPc + dMAHdM group showed no d.c.ine in dentin bond strength after water-aging for 6 months, which was significantly higher than that of the control(P c + dMAHdM group had protein adhesion that was only 1/20 of that of the SBMP control(P corporation of MPc and dMAHdM into SBMP provided a synergistic effect on biofilm red.c.ion. The antibacterial effect and resistance to protein adsorption exhibited no d.c.ease from 1 to 180 d(P > 0.1). In conclusion, a bonding agent with MPc and dMAHdM achieved a durable dentin bond strength and long-term resistance to proteins and oral bacteria. The novel dental bonding agent is promising for applications in preventive and restorative dentistry to red.c. biofilm formation at the tooth-restoration margin.

许多井间地震走时的层析成象解释方法是将震源和接收器之间的射线路径近似为直线,而不管射线路径上速度结构的不均匀性效应。当速度没有多大变化时,这样的近似是有效的。在许多地区观察到的速度横向变化为10—20％,甚至更多,这引起了射线相当大的弯曲。有些工作已经考虑了这种非线性效应,但在应用于井间地震问题时,还没有出现许多成功的实例。在这里我们提出了一个基于二维射线追踪的迭代反演方法,并成功地应用于野外资料。这个解释方法是由迭代射线追踪和更新速度模型来实现的。在每次迭代中,通过一个线性方程组将资料和由射线追踪得到的当前模型的走时差值与未知的速度扰动量联系起来。用阻尼最小二乘法求得这个速度扰动量,并因此更改模型。这个迭代过程一直进行到合成走时和野外资料间的拟合达到给定的误差范围之内,或者直到走时拟合不再有改进为止。我们把这个方法应用于结晶岩中井间试验所得的野外资料(Wong,1983)。地震图的频率范围是1—6.6kHz,允许速度结构的分辨率达到几米的数量级,所得的速度图象与其它地质和地球物理数据符合得很好。
