Cytochromes c covalently bind their heme prosthetic groups through thioether bonds between the vinyl groups of the heme and the thiols of a CXXCH motif within the *** Gramnegative bacteria,this process is catalyzed by the Ccm(cytochrome c maturation)proteins,also called System *** Ccm proteins are found in the bacterial inner membrane,but some(CcmE,CcmG,CcmH,and CcmI)also have soluble functional domains on the periplasmic face of the *** of the mechanisms involved in the transport and relay of heme and the apo-cytochrome from the bacterial cytosol into the periplasm,and their subsequent reaction,has proved challenging due to the fact that most of the proteins involved are membrane-associated,but recent progress in understanding some key components has thrown up some *** this Review,we discuss advances in our understanding of this process arising from a substrate’s point of view and from recent structural information about individual components.

We compared the potential phenotypic properties of coryneform bacteria associated with chronic prostatitis syndrome （CPS）, such as secretory inhibitor of lysozyme （SIL） and secretory inhibitor of platelet microbicidal protein （SIPMP）. A total of 110 clinical isolates of coryneform bacteria isolated from the seminal fluid of healthy men and men with CPS were tested. SIPMP production was tested by inhibiting platelet microbicidal protein （PMP） bioactivity against bacillus subtilis, and was expressed as percentage of inhibition of PMP bactericidal activity. SIL production was tested by inhibiting lysozyme activity against Micrococcus lysodeikticus and was expressed in microgram per millilitre of inactivated lysozyme. A significantly higher proportion of CPS strains （58.7% vs. 19.2 %） was SIPMP-positive compared with non-CPS strains （P 〈 0.01）. Of the CPS strains tested, 77.8% were SIL-positive compared with 34% of the non- CPS isolates （P 〈 0.05）. These results suggest that the diagnosis of CPS should not rely solely on classical parameters, for example, the identification and counting of microorganisms, but the functional significance of these parameters must be estimated, possibly by the concentration of different bacterial substrains, detection of opportunistic microorganisms with pathogenic properties, such as pronounced resistance to the cationic antimicrobial peptides, and/or the ability to inhibit the antimicrobial host defence factors.

SAW sensors using five different types of polymer to detect of chemical agents(dMMP,CH_3CN,CH_2Cl_2,dCP) have been fabricated and its gas response characteristics were extensively *** polymers used as the sensing material are polyisobutylene(PIb),polyepichlorohydrin(PECH),polydimethylsiloxane(PdMS),polyisoprene(PIP)and polybutadiene(Pbd).Their thin films were coated on quartz substrate by spin coating *** types of simulants gases,dimethylmethylphosphonate(dMMP),acetonitrile(CH_3CN)and dichloromethane(CH_2Cl_2),dichloropentane(dCP)were used as target gases,instead of the real nerve,blood,choking and vesicant *** spin coating of PIb and PECH,the substrates were heated to 65℃with N_2 flow for 1 h to remove the cyclohexane and ethylacetate which was used as solvent. PdMS was heated to 75℃with N_2 flow for 2 h to remove the ethylacetate which was used as *** and PIP on the substrate were heated to 60℃with N_2 flow for 1 h to remove the benzen which was used as *** sensing characteristics of the SAW sensors were measured by using E-5061A network analyzer.

The effect of optical cleaning method combined with laser speckle imaging(LSI)was discussed to improve the detection depth of LSI due to high scattering characteristics of skin,which limit its clinical application.A double-layer skin tissue model embedded with a single blood vessel was established,and the Monte Carlo method was used to simulate photon propagation under the action of light-permeating agent.808 nm semiconductor and 632.8 nm He–Ne lasers were selected to study the e®ect of optical clearing agents(OCAs)on photon deposition in *** show that the photon energy deposition density in the epidermis increases with the amount of tissue°uid replaced by *** with glucose solution,polyethylene glycol 400(PEG 400)and glycerol can considerably increase the average penetration depth of photons in the skin tissue,thereby raising the sampling depth of the *** the action of glycerol,PEG 400,and glucose,the average photon penetration depth is increased by 51.78%,51.06%,and 21.51%for 808nm,68.93%,67.94%,and 26.67%for 632.8 nm lasers,*** vivo experiment by dorsal skin chamber proves that glycerol can cause a substantial decrease in blood°ow rate,whereas PEG 400 can signicantly improve the capability of light penetration without a®ecting blood velocity,which exhibits considerable potential in the monitoring of blood°ow in skin tissues.

Soils used for rice （Oryza sativa L.） cultivation in some areas contain high concentrations of arsenic （As）due to irrigation with groundwater containing As and intensive use of agrochemicals or industrial residues containing As. To restrict rice uptake of As in these soils, approaches to reduce As input and bioavailability must be considered. One approach to reduce As input into rice soils or uptake by rice is cultivating rice under aerobic, intermittent flooding, or alternate wetting and drying （AWd） conditions, rather than in submerged soils, or use of irrigation water low in As. For reducing As bioavailability in soil, aerobic or AWd rice culture and application of biochar, sulfur （S）, and/or rice polish to soil are promising. Moreover, use of As-hyperaecumulating plant species （e.g., Pteris vittata L.） in rotation or combinations with favourable plant species （e.g., Azolla, Chlorella, or Nannochloropsis species） can also be promoted, in addition to using rice cultivars that are tolerant to As. Though applications of high doses of phosphorus （P）, iron （Fe）, and silicon （Si） fertilizers have shown promise in many instances, these methods have to be practiced carefully, because negative effects have also been reported, although such incidents are rare. Major factors affecting As speciation and bioavailability in soil are chemical properties such as redox status, pH, and Fe, P, Si, and S concentrations, physical properties such as texture and organic matter, and biological properties such as methylation activity by soil microorganisms. However, as many of these factors interact, long-term examination under field conditions is needed before measures are recommended for and implemented in farmers＇ fields.

We consider a previously proposed general nonlinear poromechanical formulation, and we derive a linearized version of this model. For this linearized model, we obtain an existence result and we propose a complete discretization strategy – in time and space – with a special concern for issues associated with incompressible or nearly-incompressible behavior. We provide a detailed mathematical analysis of this strategy,the main result being an error estimate uniform with respect to the compressibility parameter. We then illustrate our approach with detailed simulation results and we numerically investigate the importance of the assumptions made in the analysis, including the fulfillment of specific inf-sup conditions.

due to the interactions between mechanics and chemistry, Mg alloys are inevitably subjected to the combined effect of corrosion attack and cyclic loading, which eventually leads to corrosion fatigue failure. In this paper, fundamental aspects regarding the fatigue behavior of Mg alloys have been reviewed,including：（1） fatigue behavior of Mg alloys in air and aqueous media; and（2） the influence of microstructure, anodic dissolution, hydrogen embrittlement（HE）, heat treatment and surface protection on fatigue behavior of Mg alloys. Moreover, some remaining unresolved issues and future targets to deeply understand the failure mechanism of corrosion fatigue have been described.

In this study,an artificial neural network(ANN)is developed to predict the performance of a spark-ignition engine using waste pomegranate ethanol blends.A series of experiments on a single-cylinder,four-stroke spark-ignition engine yielded the data needed for neural network training and validation.70 percent of the experimental data was used to train the network using the feed-forward back propagation(FFbP)*** developed network model’s performance was evaluated by contrasting its output with experimental *** parameters included engine speed,ethanol blends,and output parameters included indicated and brake power,thermal,volumetric,and mechanical *** and testing data had regression coefficients that were almost identical to *** research revealed that the ANN model can be a better option for predicting engine performance with a higher level of accuracy.

Ellipsometric Spectra and Optical Properties of Anisotropic Srbi2Ta2O9 Films

Ellipsometric spectra of the Srbi2Ta2O9 (SbT) films of (200) and (0010) predominant orientation are measured and analysed in the range of photon energy from 2 to 5eV. The results show that the oriented SbT films appear to be strongly anisotropic. The ellipsometric spectra of the (200)-predominant SbT films are different from those of the (0010)-predominant films. We suggest an analysis model for these oriented films and perform the fitting of the anisotropic ellipsometric spectra. The refractive index and the extinction coefficient of the ordinary ray and the extraordinary ray for these oriented SbT films are obtained. The ordinary refractive index is larger than the extraordinary one.
