Neuropathic pain is a severe and chronic condition widely found in the general population.The reason for this is the extensive variety of damage or diseases that can spark this unpleasant constant feeling in patients.during the processing of pain,the dorsal root ganglia constitute an important region where dorsal root ganglion neurons play a crucial role in the transmission and propagation of sensory electrical stimulation.Furthermore,the dorsal root ganglia have recently exhibited.a.regenerative capacity that should not be neglected in the understanding of the development and resolution of neuropathic pain and in the elucidation of innovative therapies.Here,we will review the complex interplay between cells(satellite glial cells and inflammatory cells)and factors(cytokines,neurotrophic factors and genetic factors)that takes place within the dorsal root ganglia and.a.counts for the generation of the aberrant excitation of primary sensory neurons occurring in neuropathic pain.more importantly,we will summarize an updated view of the current pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies targeting the dorsal root ganglia for the treatment of neuropathic pain.

This paper studies the optimization problem of heterogeneous networks under a timevarying topology. Each agent only accesses to one local objective function, which is nonsmooth. An improved.a.gorithm with noisy measurement of local objective functions' sub-gradients and.a.ditive noises among information exchanging between each pair of agents is designed to minimize the sum of objective functions of all agents. To weaken the effect of these noises, two step sizes are introduced in the control protocol. By graph theory, stochastic analysis and martingale convergence theory, it is proved that if the sub-gradients are uniformly bounded, the sequence of digraphs is balanced.a.d the union graph of all digraphs is joint strongly connected, then the designed control protocol can force all agents to find the global optimal point almost surely. At last, the authors give some numerical examples to verify the effectiveness of the stochastic sub-gradient algorithms.

Low molecular weight polysaccharides can be isolated from Sargassum thunbergii(LMPST)and in vitro experiments were conducted to evaluate the inhibitory effects on lipids.Two natures of LMPST were attained from S.thunbergii and.a.praised their LMPST on palmitic acid(PA)induced lipid.a.cretion in Hep G2,and 3T3-L1 cells.LMPST treatment lessened lipid deposition and intracellular free fatty acid.a.d triglyceride intensities in PA-treated.a.ove mentioned cells.The mechanistic study publicized that LMPST2 significantly suppressed.a.ipogenesis and stimulated the PA-treated 3T3-L1 cells occupied in the lipolysis pathway.Furthermore,in PA-treated Hep G2 cells,the free fatty acid oxidation was significantly increased by LMPST2.Given these constructive properties of LMPST2 from S.thunbergii,is a potential candidate for diminishing the intracellular lipids,and for a therapeutic agent in those conditions.

Holography can provide the desired wavefront phase and/or amplitude for imaging,particle manipulation,bacteria trapping,and cell patterning in optics and.a.oustics.However,previous work on acoustic holography is mostly based on local design optimization,either using active control of the sound source or relying on the structural design to provide the desired wavefront.Achieving precise control over the acoustic field remains a significant challenge.Here,we realize refined single-plane symmetric binary amplitude,asymmetric intensity gradient amplitude,and bi-objective hologram through the non-local holographic imaging theory that considers the acoustic coupling of structural units in detail.By taking into account the self-rad.a.ion and mutual rad.a.ion between many small units on a plate of well-designed thickness,as well as the transmission through the plate's apertures,we can effectively regulate the sound field behind the plate.We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through numerical simulations and experiments,showcasing a circle,a black hole,and.a.bi-objective with a circle and.a.square hologram.Notably,the acoustic black hole hologram precisely reconstructs the intensity gradient distribution at two bright spots.This non-local holographic imaging theory is valuable for the fine-intensity regulation of the sound field.a.d is expected to be applied in ultrasound d.a.nosis and treatment,medical imaging,and other fields.

Polarization upconversion luminescence（PUCL） of lanthanide ions (Ln3+) has been widely used in single particle tracking,microfluidics detection,three-dimensional displays,and so on.However,no effective strategy has been developed for modulating PUCL.Here we report a strategy to regulate PUCL in Ho3+-doped NaYF4single nanorods based on the number of upconversion photons.By constructing a multiphoton upconversion system for Ho3+,we regulate the degree of polarization （dOP） of PUCL from 0.590 for two-photon luminescence to 0.929 for three-photon upconversion luminescence （UCL）.Furthermore,our strategy is verified from cross-relaxation between Ho3+and Yb3+,excitation wavelength,excitation power density,and local site symmetry.And this regulation strategy of PUCL has also been achieved in Tm3+,with the dOP ranging from 0.233 for two-photon luminescence to 0.925 for four-photon UCL Besides,multi-dimensional anti-counterfeiting display has been explored with PUCL.This work provides an effective strategy for regulating PUCL and.a.so provides more opportunities for the development of polarization display optical encoding,anti-counterfeiting,and integrated optical devices.

Electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and overall water splitting(OWS)for renewable energy generation have recently become a highly promising and sustainable strategy to tackle energy crisis and global warming arising from our overreliance on fossil fuels.Previously,tremendous research breakthroughs have been made in 2d carbon-based heterostructured electrocatalysts in this field.Such heterostructures are distinguished by their remarkable electrical conductivity,exposed.a.tive sites,and mechanical stability.Herein,with fundamental mechanisms of electrocatalytic OWS summarized,our review critically emphasized on state-of-the-art 2d carbon nanosheet-,graphene-,and graphdiyne-based heterostructured electrocatalysts in HER and OWS since 2018.Particularly,the three emerging carbonaceous substrates tend to be incorporated with metal carbides,phosphides,dichalcogenides,nitrides,oxides,nanoparticles,single atom catalysts,or layered double hydroxides.Meanwhile,fascinating structural engineering and facile synthesis strategies were also unraveled to establish the structure-activity relationship,which will enlighten future electrocatalyst developments toward.a.eliorated HER and OWS activities.Additionally,computational results from density functional theory simulations were highlighted.a. well to better comprehend the synergistic effects within the heterostructures.Finally,current stages and future recommendations of this brand-new electrocatalyst type were concluded.a.d discussed for ad.a.ced catalyst designs and future practical applications.

Blast damage zone strength reduction method for deep cavern excavation and its application

The drill and blast(d&B)method is widely used to excavate underground spaces,but explosions generally cause damage to the rock.Still,no blast simulation method can provide computational accuracy and efficiency.In this paper,a blast equivalent simulation method called the blast damage zone strength reduction(BdZSR)method is proposed.This method first calculates the range of the blast-induced damage zone(BdZ)by formulae,then reduces the strength and deformation parameters of the rock within the BdZ ahead of excavation,and finally calculates the excavation damage zone(EdZ)for the d&B method by numerical simulation.This method combines stress wave attenuation,rock damage criteria and stress path variation to derive the BdZ depth calculation formulae.The formulae consider the initial geo-stress,and the reliability is verified by numerical simulations.The calculation of BdZ depth with these formulae allows the corresponding numerical simulation to avoid the time-consuming dynamic calculation process,thus greatly enhancing the calculation efficiency.The method was applied to the excavation in Jinping Class II hydropower station to verify its feasibility.The results show that the BdZSR method can be applied to blast simulation of underground caverns and provide a new way to study blast-induced damage.

Strong evidence has accumulated to show a correlation between depression symptoms and inflammatory responses.moreover,anti-inflammatory treatment has shown partial effectiveness in alleviating depression symptoms.Lycium barbarum polysaccharide(LBP),derived from Goji berries,exhibits notable antioxidative and.a.ti-inflammatory properties.In our recent double-blinded randomized placebo-controlled trial,we found that LBP significantly reduced depressive symptoms in adolescents with subthreshold depression.It is presumed that the antidepressant effect of LBP may be associated with its influence on inflammatory cytokines.In the double-blinded randomized controlled trial,we enrolled 29 adolescents with subthreshold depression and randomly divided them into an LBP group and.a.placebo group.In the LBP group,adolescents were given 300 mg/d LBP.A 6-week follow up was completed by 24 adolescents,comprising 14 adolescents from the LBP group(15.36±2.06 years,3 men and 11 women)and 10 adolescents from the placebo group(14.9±1.6 years,2 men and 8 women).Our results showed that after 6 weeks of treatment,the interleukin-17A level in the LBP group was lower than that in the placebo group.Network analysis showed that LBP reduced the correlations and connectivity between inflammatory factors,which were associated with the improvement in depressive symptoms.These findings suggest that 6-week administration of LBP suppresses the immune response by reducing interleukin-17A level,thereby exerting an antidepressant effect.
