Although it is well-known that und.r lateral load.ng the behavior and.mod.s of failure of the frame build.ngs change significantly d.e to infill-frame interaction, the general d.sign practice is to treat infills as nonstructural elements and.their stiffness, strength and.interaction with the frame is often ignored. primarily because of d.fficulties in simulation and.lack of mod.ling guid.lines in d.sign cod.s. This paper presents an analytical stud. on the seismic performance and.fragility analysis of Ind.an cod.-d.signed.RC frame build.ngs with and.without URM infills. In ord.r to utilise tourism ind.stry market, uncontrolled.numbers of tourists and.related.haphazard.infrastructural facilities in the vulnerable mountain regions pose serious environmental implications. The ecological pressures are threatening land. water and.wild.life resources through d.rect and.ind.rect environmental impacts together with generation of solid.and.liquid.wastes, so green tourism is emerging as an important task in ord.r to d.velop new relationship between communities, government agencies and.private sectors. In this paper,the spatio-temporal variation and.propagation d.rection of coal fire were stud.ed.in the Jharia Coalfield.JCF),Ind.a d.ring 2006–2015 through satellite-based.night-time land.surface temperature(LST)*** LST was retrieved.from Ad.anced.Spaceborne Thermal Emission and.Reflection Rad.ometer(ASTER)night-time thermal-infrared.d.ta by a robust split-wind.w algorithm based.on scene-specific regression coefficients,band.specific hybrid.emissivity,and.night-time atmospheric *** LST-profile-based.coal fire d.tection algorithm was formulated.through statistical analysis of the LST values along multiple transects across d.verse coal fire locations in the JCF in ord.r to compute d.te-specific threshold.temperatures for separating thermally-anomalous and.background.*** algorithm efficiently separates surface fire,subsurface fire,and.thermally-anomalous transitional *** the observation period.it was noticed.that the coal fire area increased.significantly,which resulted.from new coal fire at many places owing to extensive opencast-mining *** was observed.that the fire propagation occurred.primarily along the d.p d.rection of the coal *** places,lateral-propagation of limited.spatial extent was also observed.along the strike d.rection possibly d.e to spatial continuity of the coal seams along ***,the opencast-mining activities carried.out d.ring 2009–2015 and.the structurally weak planes facilitated.the fire propagation.

The d.pend.nce of the d.rections of polarization of exciton emissions, fine structure splittings （FSS）, and.polarization anisotropy on the light- and.heavy-hole （LH-HH） mixing in semicond.ctor quantum d.ts （Qd.） is investigated.using a mesoscopic mod.l. In general, all Qd. have a four-fold.exciton ground.state. Two exciton states have d.rections of polarization in the growth-plane, while the other two are along the growth d.rection of the Qd. The LH-HH mixing d.es affect the FSS and.polarization anisotropy of bright exciton states in the growth-plane in the low symmetry Qd. （e.g., C2v, CS, C1 ）, while it has no effect on the FSS and.polarization anisotropy in high symmetry Qd. （e.g., C3V, d.d.. When the hole ground.state is pure HH or LH, the bright exciton states in the growth-plane are normal to each other. The LH-HH mixing affects the relative intensities and.d.rections of bright exciton states in the growth-plane of the Qd. The polarization anisotropy of exciton emissions in the growth-plane of the Qd.is ind.pend.nt of the phase angle of LH-HH mixing but strongly d.pend. on the magnitud. of LH-HH mixing in low symmetry Qd..
