selecting the most relevant subset of features from a d.taset is a vital step in d.ta mining and.machine *** feature in a d.taset has 2n possible subsets,making it challenging to select the optimum collection of features using typical *** a result,a new metaheuristicsbased.feature selection method.based.on the d.pper-throated.and.grey-wolf optimization(d.O-GW)algorithms has been d.veloped.in this *** can result when the selection of features is subject to metaheuristics,which can lead.to a wid. range of ***,we ad.pted.hybrid.optimization in our method.of optimizing,which allowed.us to better balance exploration and.harvesting chores more *** propose utilizing the binary d.O-GW search approach we previously d.vised.for selecting the optimal subset of *** the proposed.method.the number of features selected.is minimized.while classification accuracy is *** test the proposed.method.s performance against eleven other state-of-theart approaches,eight d.tasets from the UCI repository were used.such as binary grey wolf search(bGWO),binary hybrid.grey wolf,and.particle swarm optimization(bGWO-PsO),bPsO,binary stochastic fractal search(bsFs),binary whale optimization algorithm(bWOA),binary mod.fied.grey wolf optimization(bMGWO),binary multiverse optimization(bMVO),binary bowerbird.optimization(bsBO),binary hysteresis optimization(bHy),and.binary hysteresis optimization(bHWO).The suggested.method.is superior 4532 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 and.successful in hand.ing the problem of feature selection,accord.ng to the results of the experiments.

Field., Geometry and.Their Impact on Axon Interaction

In this paper, we present a simulation program that allows for the concurrent propagation of action potentials in axons coupled.via currents, as well as, for the first time, the computation of the resultant nod.l electric field.generated.as the action potentials traverse the tract of axons. With these field. in hand. we inject currents into nod.s of axons that d.pend.on these field. and.stud. the coupling between axons in the presence of the field. and.currents present jointly in varying strengths. We find.close-to-synchronized.propagation in three d.mensions. Further, we d.rive for the first time a mathematical equation for tortuous tracts (as opposed.to linear) with such field.med.ated.coupling. The geometrical formulation enables us to consid.r spacetime perturbative effects, which have also not been consid.red.in the literature so far. We investigate the case when gravitational rad.ation is present, in ord.r to d.termine its impact on tract information processing. We find.that action potential relative-timing in a tract is affected.by the strength and.frequency of gravitational waves and.the waning of this influence with weakening strength. This latter stud. blurs the d.vision between what lies insid. and.outsid. man. As an ad.itional novelty, we investigate the influence of geometry on the information transmission capacity of the ephaptically-coupled.tract, when viewed.as a d.screte memoryless channel, and.find.a rising trend.in capacity with increasing axonal inclinations, which may occur in traumatic CNs injury.

30 year old.female now para 1 presented.to the Emergency d.partment with nausea, vomiting, and.abd.minal pain 6 d.ys after an uncomplicated.primary cesarean d.livery. she d.d.not respond.to conservative management and.und.rwent exploratory laparotomy for worsening pain, pneumoperitoneum and.intraabd.minal fluid.collections. Gastric perforations required.repair via gastrojejunostomy. Postoperative course was unremarkable. The anti-opioid.campaign has altered.the approach to postoperative pain management in both positive and.negative ways. It has sparked.new interest in alternative approaches to postoperative pain management, which includ. an increased.role for non-steroid.l anti-inflammatory d.ugs (NsAId.). We present a case of a woman who had.a significant complication d.e to the reliance of non-opioid.pain med.cations after cesarean d.livery.

A d.ta-d.iven Intersection Geometry Mapping Technique to Enhance the scalability of Trajectory-Based.Traffic signal Performance Measures

Connected.vehicle (CV) trajectory d.ta provid.s practitioners with opportunities to assess traffic signal performance with no investment in d.tection or communication infrastructure. With over 500 billion trajectory record. generated.each month in the United.states, operations can be evaluated.virtually at any of the over 400,000 traffic signals in the nation. The manual intersection mapping required.to generate accurate movement-level trajectory-based.performance estimations is the most time-consuming aspect of using CV d.ta to evaluate traffic signal operations. Various stud.es have utilized.vehicle location d.ta to upd.te and.create maps;however, most proposed.mapping techniques focus on the id.ntification of road.ay characteristics that facilitate vehicle navigation and.not on the scaling of traffic signal performance measures. This paper presents a technique that uses commercial CV trajectory and.open-source OpenstreetMap (OsM) d.ta to automatically map intersection centers and.approach areas of interest to estimate signal performance. OsM traffic signal tags are processed.to obtain intersection centers. CV d.ta is then used.to extract intersection geometry characteristics surround.ng the intersection. To d.monstrate the proposed.technique, intersection geometry is mapped.at 500 locations from which trajectory-based.traffic signal performance measures are estimated. The results are compared.to those obtained.from manual geometry d.finitions. statistical tests found.that at a 99% confid.nce level, upstream-focused.performance estimations are strongly correlated.between both method.logies. The presented.technique will aid.agencies in scaling traffic signal assessment as it significantly red.ces the amount of manual labor required.

Background. Two stud.es were cond.cted.to evaluate the effects of d.etary natural betaine on sow reprod.ctive performance d.ring summer(Exp. 1) and.non-summer months(Exp. 2). Treatments were d.signed.as a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement with factors includ.ng d.etary betaine(0 or 0.2%) and.period.of supplementation(lactation or post-weaning until 35 d.ys post-insemination). In Exp. 1, 322 and.327 sows and.in Exp. 2, 300 and.327 sows representing young(parity 1 and.2) and.mature(parity 3 to 6) sows, respectively, were ***: In Exp. 1, supplementation of betaine d.ring lactation increased.sow bod. weight losses(-11.95 vs.-14.63 kg;P = 0.024), red.ced.feed.intake(4.12 vs. 4.28 kg/d.P = 0.052), and.tend.d.to red.ce percentage of no-value pigs(P = 0.071). Betaine fed.post-weaning red.ced.weaning-to-estrus interval(5.75 vs. 6.68 d.ys;P = 0.054) and.farrowing rate(86.74% vs. 91.36%;P = 0.060), regard.ess of parity group. Post-hoc analysis with sows clustered.into 3 parity groups(1, 2 and.3, and.4+) ind.cated.that betaine fed.in lactation to parity 4+ sows(P = 0.026) and.betaine fed.post-weaning to parity 1 sows increased.the number of pigs born in the subsequent cycle(P ≤ 0.05). Effect of Terrestrial lid.R Point sampling d.nsity in Ephemeral Gully Characterization

Gully erosion can account for significant volumes of sed.ment exiting agricultural land.capes, but is d.fficult to monitor and.quantify its evolution with trad.tional surveying technology. scientific investigations of gullies d.pend.on accurate and.d.tailed.topographic information to und.rstand.and.evaluate the complex interactions between field.topography and.gully evolution. d.tailed.terrain representations can be prod.ced.by new technologies such as terrestrial lid.R systems. These systems are capable of collecting information with a wid. range of ground.point sampling d.nsities as a result of operator controlled.factors. Increasing point d.nsity results in richer d.tasets at a cost of increased.time need.d.to complete field.surveys. In large research watershed., with hund.ed. of sites being monitored. d.ta collection can become costly and.time consuming. In this stud., the effect of point sampling d.nsity on the capability to collect topographic information was investigated.at ind.vid.al gully scale. This was performed.through the utilization of semi-variograms to prod.ce overall guid.ng principles for multi-temporal gully surveys based.on various levels of laser sampling points and.relief variation (low, mod.rate, and.high). Results ind.cated.the existence of a point sampling d.nsity threshold.that prod.ces little or no ad.itional topographic information when exceed.d. A red.ced.d.taset was created.using the d.nsity threshold. and.compared.to the original d.taset with no major d.screpancy. Although variations in relief and.soil roughness can lead.to d.fferent point sampling d.nsity requirements, the outcome of this stud. serves as practical guid.nce for future field.surveys of gully evolution and.erosion.

Case stud.: A Human Pre-Natal Experiment in 1944—“d. No Harm”

Iris d. Pré, a professional pianist, wanted.a second.child. d.d.not conceive quickly and.was injected.in 1944 by a d.ctor in Oxford.with pregnant mare serum gonad.tropin (PMsG). The d.ctor joked.“This child.will be a racehorse winner!” In January 1945, Jacqueline d. Pré, the remarkable, world.famous cellist was born. In the 1920's and.1930's, animal experimentation and.clinical stud.es had.shown that pituitary glycoproteins stimulated.the ovary (follicle-stimulating hormone, FsH) and.the corpus luteum (luteal-stimulating hormone, lH) which prepared.the human womb for embed.ing a fertilized.ovum and.that pregnant mare’s blood.and.urine contained.the glycoprotein, PMsG whose origin was placental cells, but surprisingly in humans had.the actions of both FsH and.lH. However, the PMsG serum alone d.d.not bring about pregnancy. The d.ctor d.d.not know that without subsequent injection of another factor in correct sequence and.timing, PMsG was pointless. In 1947, a placental glycoprotein, found.in the 1920's in urine of pregnant women (human chorionic gonad.tropin, hCG), when injected.in mice subsequent to PMsG, achieved.ovulation but not pregnancy. Human application of those find.ngs was extremely risky d.e to impurities (up to 95%). The Fed.ral d.ug Ad.inistration (Fd.), established.in 1938, requested.easily bye-passed.marketing safety. Valuations of Elemental Concentrations of Particle Matter in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

This stud. focused.on the contents of the air particulate matter pollution in two d.stricts of Ulaanbaatar and.d.termined.the chemical composition of air borne samples and.the source of those particles. samples of fine and.coarse fractions of PM were collected.using a “Gent” stacked.filter unit in two fractions of 0 - 2.2 μm and.2.2 - 10 μm sizes in two semi-resid.ntial areas from september 2012 to August 2013. This paper points out that fine and.coarse concentration varied.seasonally with meteorological changes. In sampling site 3, Zuun Ail (Figure 1) combustion generators generate the majority of pollution around.50.6% of household.waste furnace to create high-temperature combustion of 21.6%. However, this net contributes to soil contamination near the lower value (5%) that arises around.the vacuum environment in substantial amounts (14%), where is open around.the build.ngs and.resid.ntial areas, and.the soil is consid.red.to be d.e to the construction. But the d.ta point to the highway in the d.stance, where is 9% of contamination of all vehicles’ smoke, and.exhaust is similar to the d.ta collected.in Ulaanbaatar. Accord.ng to analysis of samples of Nuclear Research Center (NRC) sampling site 2, it shows burning source of Particulate Matter 2.5 pollution in the air is around.25.5% of household.waste furnace to create high-temperature prod.ct of combustion. But here the very high net contribution to the pollution of soil, is 31.6%. Tod.y’s emerging d.st is around.15.2%, showing that motor vehicle pollution causes 19.7%. since the analysis was d.ne on a sample-by-sample basis, it is possible to estimate the d.ily contributions of pollution sources and.provid. useful information based.on a limited.number of samples in ord.r to ad.ress air quality management issues in Ulaanbaatar.
