Objective: To as.es. the outcomes.of hearing and.vertigo in patients.with Meniere’s.d.s.as. who were treated.with intratympanic methylpred.is.lone. s.ud. d.s.gn: Retros.ective s.ud.. s.tting: Tertiary referral hos.ital. Method.: In our s.ud. with 151 patients.[191 ears. were d.agnos.d.as.Menieres.as.per 1995 AAO-HNs.guid.lines. As.an office bas.d.proced.re thes. patients.were treated.with intratympanic methyl pred.is.lone. Res.lts. There was.a 98.6% improvement in the vertigo control rate, a 73.82% improvement in hearing and.29.31% had.a d.finitive improvement in tinnitus. Conclus.on: We conclud. from our s.ud. that intratympanic s.eroid.injection s.gnificantly controls.vertigo, tinnitus.and.improves.hearing in Meniere’s.d.s.as. with minimal complications. Hence, it can be tried.as.a firs. line treatment for patients.with Meniere’s.d.s.as..

Objective: The objective is.to as.es. patients.complaining of d.s.hagia with fibreoptic end.s.opic evaluation of s.allowing [FEEs.. s.ud. d.s.gn: It is.a pros.ective s.ud.. s.tting: The s.ud. is.cond.cted.at Tertiary referral hos.ital. Method.: In our s.ud., twenty patients.with complaints.of d.s.hagia were evaluated.with fibreoptic end.s.opic evaluation of s.allowing. Patients.with pharyngeal caus. of d.s.hagia were id.ntified.and.recommend.d.d.etary mod.fications.or pos.tional manoeuvre. Res.lts. A total of twenty patients.were evaluated.with FEEs. Patients.were categoris.d.into two groups.bas.d.on the etiological factor: neurological and.non-neurological patients. In eleven of the neurological patients. premature s.illage was.s.en in four patients. Pooling for s.lid. was.s.en in one patient and.for liquid. in four patients. pooling for both s.lid. and.liquid. was.s.en in s.x patients. penetration was.s.en in 1 patient and.as.iration in one patient. All thes. patients.were d.agnos.d.to have a pharyngeal caus. of d.s.hagia. In the nine of the non-neurological group, pooling of liquid. was.s.en in four patients. and.as.iration was.s.en in one patient. None of the patients.of this.group had.s.illage. One patent had.penetration. Five patients.had.pharyngeal caus. of d.s.hagia. Remaining four patients.had.normal s.ud.. Thes. patients.with pharyngeal caus. were ad.is.d.d.etary mod.fication or pos.tional manoeuvre or a combination of both. Conclus.on: FEEs.is.an effective and.valuable tool for evaluating pharyngeal d.s.hagia, and.is.helpful in guid.ng the patients.for d.et and.rehabilitation. It is.es.ential to as.es. the s.fety of s.allowing in patients.to prevent s.lent as.iration and.as.iration pneumonia.

Materials.and.Method.: 50 patients.with complaints.of hoars.nes. of voice were clinically evaluated.and.d.agnos.s.was.mad. us.ng Rigid.Vid.olaryngos.opy, Flexible Vid.olaryngos.opy and.Vid.os.robos.opy. Patients.und.rwent microlaryngeal s.rgery and.a final d.agnos.s.mad. with his.opathological examination. The intra-operative find.ngs.and.the final his.opathological d.agnos.s.were compared.with the d.agnos.s.mad. with rigid. flexible vid.olaryngos.opy and.s.robos.opy. Res.lts. Intra-operative find.ngs.correlated.with s.robos.opic find.ngs.in 84% of patients. with fibreopticlaryngo-pharyngos.opic d.agnos.s.in 54% of patients.and.with rigid.vid.o-laryngos.opy in 46% of patients. Vid.os.robos.opy s.owed.the highes. d.agnos.ic co-relation on his.opathology (80%) as.compared.to rigid.vid.oend.s.opy (56%) and.flexible vid.olaryngos.opy (58%). Vid.os.robos.opy als. elucid.ted.vocal fold.abnormalities.that were mis.ed.on rigid.or flexible laryngos.opic examinations. Conclus.on: Vid.os.robos.opy is.a valuable complement to a thorough vocal his.ory and.phys.cal examination. Vid.os.robos.opy is.s.perior to cons.ant light laryngeal examination in d.agnos.s.of vocal cord.les.ons.

Objective: The aim of the s.ud. is.to look for ind.cators.of Tuberculous.Otitis.Med.a in all cas.s.of chronic s.ppurative otitis.med.a. s.ud. d.s.gn: This.is.a retros.ective s.ud.. s.tting: This.s.ud. was.cond.cted.in a tertiary care centre. s.bjects.and.Method.: d.tected.cas.s.of tuberculous.otitis.med.a (TBOM) cas.s.s.ud.ed.retros.ectively from January 2011 to d.cember 2013 were includ.d.in the s.ud.. Inves.igations.for tuberculos.s.were cons.d.red.in the cas.s.s.owing s.s.icious.pale granulation tis.ue in the external aud.tory canal and.mid.le ear and.als. in cas.s.s.owing exuberant pale granulation tis.ue d.ring mas.oid.s.rgery where Zeihl Niels.n s.aining, his.opathology, molecular genetic s.ud. was.d.ne. Cas.s.s.owing pos.tive res.lt were includ.d.in the s.ud.. Res.lts. d.ring the s.ud. period.751 cas.s.of Cs.M were s.en in outpatient room of which 18 cas.s.of TBOM were d.agnos.d. Three patients.were d.agnos.d.preoperatively and.181 und.rwent s.rgery of which 15 cas.s.were d.agnos.d.pos.tive, from the tis.ue obtained.d.ring the proced.re. d.rect s.ear was.pos.tive in four cas.s. concentration techniques.in s.ven cas.s. Line probe as.ay was.taken as.d.agnos.ic in all the cas.s. None of the cas.s.were pos.tive on his.opathology. Conclus.on: Tuberculous.otitis.med.a is.often mis.ed.as.the clas.ical features.are not s.en in all cas.s.of TBOM. The abs.nce of thes. s.ould.not s.op the clinician from d.agnos.ng the d.s.as.. s.s.icious.tis.ue s.ould.therefore be tes.ed.properly to avoid.mis.ing the d.agnos.s.and.to prevent any complications.

Here we report a patient with uncontrolled.d.abetes. who pres.nted.with gid.ines. and.fall d.e to an epis.d. of s.izure. On evaluation with CT and.MRI s.ans. he was.found.to have pan s.nus.tis.with eros.ons.of the s.ull bas. in the floor of s.henoid.near lateral reces.. PET-CT s.owed.evid.nce of increas.d.metabolis.. He was.operated.upon by functional end.s.opic s.nus.s.rgery and.d.brid.ment of les.on near s.ull bas.. The his.opathological examination revealed.evid.nce of inflammation with no granulomas.or fungal elements.or tubercle bacilli. No organis.s.were grown in microbiological cultures. He s.arted.on empirical antibiotics.for 3 months.and.s.owed.improvement. We are reporting this.cas. d.e to rarity to s.ull bas. os.eomyelitis.

To d.s.us. the clinical, d.agnos.ic, and.treatment mod.lities. s.ud. d.s.gn: A cas. report includ.ng his.opathological, rad.ological analys.s.and.review of literature. Method. A cas. report is.d.s.ribed.from a tertiary care centre. His.opathological and.rad.ological d.tails.are reviewed. Res.lts. This.cas. report pres.nts.a 29 year old.male with 3 d.ys.his.ory of bleed.ng from the left nos.ril, blood.s.ained.s.liva with pos. nas.l d.s.harge and.head.ache. Biops. d.mons.rated.poorly d.fferentiated.Angios.rcoma. On immune s.ains.the tumor cells.s.owed.d.ffus. s.rong cytoplas.ic membrane pos.tivity with Cd.31 and.few cells.are pos.tive for Cd.4. FLI-1 is.als. pos.tive. Conclus.on: Angios.rcoma is.a rare malignancy involving the s.nonas.l cavities. Multid.s.iplinary approach is.es.ential to obtain clear d.agnos.s.and.appropriate treatment plans.

Granular cell tumors. als. called.Abrikos.off tumors. are benign, s.owly growing neoplas.s. They may occur anywhere in the bod., but head.and.neck accounts.to 45% - 65% of thes. cas.s. The mos. common s.te is.the tongue. Larynx is.relatively an uncommon location for thes. tumours. accounting for approximately three to 10 per cent of the reported.cas.s. Laryngeal granular cell tumour is.extremely rare accounting for only 19 reported.cas.s.und.r the age of 17 years. As.many as.10% of patients.experience multifocal s.nchronous.or metachronous.tumors. We pres.nt a rare cas. report of granular cell tumour of the larynx.

Materials.and.Method.: A total of 67 patients.with id.opathic s.d.en s.ns.rineural hearing los. were includ.d.in our s.ud.. Pre- and.pos.-injection aud.ograms.were taken to as.es. the outcomes.in improvement in hearing. Hearing outcomes.were as.es.ed.with res.ect to d.ration of ons.t of treatment and.age of the patient. Improvement in the s.eech d.s.rimination s.ore was.als. as.es.ed. Res.lts. A total of 67 patients.were includ.d.in our s.ud. of which unilateral cas.s.were 59 and.bilateral cas.s.were 8. s.bjectively 35 patients.reported.improvement in hearing after the therapy while objectively we found.44 ears.[41 patients. had.improvement. The mean PTA pre ITs.was.62.7 and.after ITs.it was.56.3. Maximum improvement was.noted.at 2000 Hz and.1000 Hz. Conclus.on: Intratympanic s.eroid. can be offered.as.a firs. line therapy for id.opathic s.d.en s.ns.rineural hearing los. as.it is.minimally invas.ve, and.can be performed.as.an office bas.d.proced.re with no s.s.emic s.d. effects. No major complications.have been reported.in our s.ud. and.res.lts.have been s.tis.actory.

Method.: A cas. report from a tertiary care centre. His.opathologic and.rad.ological d.tails.are reviewed. Res.lts. This.cas. report pres.nts.a 59-year-old.male who came to us.with fronal head.ches.and.nos. blocks.of 6 months. d.ration. Clinical examination revealed.bilateral nas.l polypos.s. Plain CT s.an of paranas.l s.nus.s.revealed.a circums.ribed.les.on with eros.on of inner table of left frontal s.nus.amid.t pan s.nus.hazines.. We ad.res.ed.the cond.tion by combined.FEs. with eyebrow incis.on frontal craniotomy. His.opathological examination revealed.a mucocele. Conclus.on: In combined.approach, eyebrow incis.on minimal frontal craniotomy remains.the optimal option for vis.alis.tion of entire s.nus. es.ecially in laterally placed.frontal mucoceles.while FEs. helps.in maintaining phys.ological d.ainage and.proper follow-up.
