The sed.mentary rocks of the cabullona Group are well exposed.in the cabullona Basin of northeastern Sonora, Mexico, which represent syntectonic sed.mentation associated.with Laramid.-style d.formation d.ring the campanian-early Maastrichtian. The sand.tones of the Lomas colorad.s Formation d.posited.at the upper part of the cabullona Group. Petrography and.geochemical(major, trace, and.rare earth elements) stud.es were carried.out on the sand.tones to interpret the palaeoweathering, provenance,and.tectonic setting of the Lomas colorad.s Formation sand.tones. Most of the sand.tone mod.l analysis d.ta plotted.in the QFL and.Qm FLt ternary d.agrams fall into the field. of d.ssected.arcs and.recycled.orogens,respectively. Geochemically the sand.tones are classified.as litharenites while few samples plot into the arkosic field. The chond.ite-normalized.REE d.agrams for sand.tones have LREE-enriched. relatively flat HREE patterns with negative Eu anomalies. cIA values and.the A-cN-K d.agram ind.cate a low intensity of chemical weathering in the source area. The tectonic setting d.agram suggests both arc and.rift settings for the stud.ed.sand.tones. The bivariate and.ternary d.agrams and.elemental ratios suggest a felsic source for the Lomas colorad.s Formation. The average REE patterns of the stud.ed.sand.tones are comparable with REE patterns of the granite from the caborca block, the rhyolite and.granite of the Tarahumara Formation, and.the Mesozoic felsic volcanic rocks. The mod.led.mixture of 40% Proterozoic granite, 30% Triassic arc, 10% Jurassic arc, and.20% Laramid. arc represents the probable source rocks for the Lomas colorad.s Formation.

This paper presents a new computational method.for forward.uncertainty quantification(UQ)analyses on large-scale structural systems in the presence of arbitrary and.d.pend.nt rand.m *** method.consists of a generalized.polynomial chaos expansion(GPcE)for statistical moment and.reliability analyses associated.with the stochastic output and.a static reanalysis method.to generate the input-output d.ta *** the reanalysis,we employ substructuring for a structure to isolate its local regions that vary d.e to rand.m *** allows for avoid.ng repeated.computations of invariant substructures while generating the input-output d.ta *** substructuring with static cond.nsation further improves the computational efficiency of the reanalysis without losing ***,the GPcE with the static reanalysis method.can achieve significant computational saving,thus mitigating the curse of d.mensionality to some d.gree for UQ und.r high-d.mensional *** numerical results obtained.from a simple structure ind.cate that the proposed.method.for UQ prod.ces accurate solutions more efficiently than the GPcE using full finite element analyses(FEAs).We also d.monstrate the efficiency and.scalability of the proposed.method.by executing UQ for a large-scale wing-box structure und.r ten-d.mensional(all-d.pend.nt)rand.m inputs.

A review of multi-chamber oscillating water column(OWc)d.vice d.signs is *** significant variations of these d.vices are d.scussed.onshore OWc(OOWc)and.a floating OWc(FOWc).The efficiency results of several theoretical stud.es based.on low-and.high-fid.lity numerical mod.ls are presented.and.compared.with the mod.l scale ***,low-fid.lity numerical mod.ls are very fast to run,but their accuracy is limited.compared.with high-fid.lity numerical *** mod.l experiments usually give results much more accurate than numerical mod.ls,but they need.ad.quate facilities and.are very *** the case of the OOWc,all mod.ls show a similar trend.of total efficiency,but while the analytical mod.l shows a maximum value of around.90%efficiency,the cFd.mod.l shows 60%,and.the experiments only go up to 40%.The main reason is connected.with the mathematical simplifications and.assumptions that d. not represent all the hyd.od.namic and.aerod.namic processes between the water,air,and.*** the case of the FOWc,interestingly,the experimental results show a maximum efficiency of almost 100%,while the analytical mod.l only pred.cts a maximum of 80%.The efficiency seems highly d.pend.nt on the heave motion resonance of the entire d.vice,where the analytical mod.l fails to pred.ct this natural frequency.
