Background.The nationally d.termined.contribution（nd.） presented.by Argentina within the framework of the Paris Agreement is aligned.with the d.cisions mad. in the contex. of the United.nations Framework Conven-tion on Climate Change（UnFCCC） on the red.ction of emissions d.rived.from d.forestation and.forest d.grad.tion, as well as forest carbon conservation（REd.+）. In ad.ition, climate change constitutes one of the greatest threats to forest biod.versity and.ecosystem services. However, the soil organic carbon（SOC） stocks of native forests have not been incorporated.into the Forest Reference Emission levels calculations and.for conservation pl.nning und.r cli-mate variability d.e to a lack of information. The objectives of this stud. were:（i） to mod.l SOC stocks to 30 cm of native forests at a national scale using climatic, topographic and.vegetation as pred.ctor variables, and.ii） to relate SOC stocks with spatial–temporal remotely sensed.ind.ces to d.termine biod.versity conservation concerns d.e to threats from high inter-annual climate *** We used.1040 forest soil samples（0–30 cm） to generate spatially ex.licit estimates of SOC native forests in Argentina at a spatial resolution of approx.mately 200 m. We selected.52 potential pred.ctive environmental covari-ates, which represent key factors for the spatial d.stribution of SOC. All covariate maps were upload.d.to the Google Earth Engine cloud.based.computing platform for subsequent mod.ll.ng. To d.termine the biod.versity threats from high inter-annual climate variability, we employed.the spatial–temporal satellite-d.rived.ind.ces based.on Enhanced.Vegetation Ind.x.EVI） and.l.nd.surface temperature（lST） images from l.nd.at *** SOC mod.l（0–30 cm d.pth） pred.ction accounted.for 69% of the variation of this soil property across the whole native forest coverage in Argentina. Total mean SOC stock reached.2.81 Pg C（2.71–2.84 Pg C with a probability of 90%） for a total area of 460,790 km2,

A multi-shot target assembly and.automatic alignment proced.re for laser–plasma proton acceleration at high repetition rate are introd.ced. The assembly is based.on a multi-target rotating wheel capable of hosting more than 5000 targets,mounted.on a 3d.motorized.stage to allow rapid.repl.nishment and.alignment of the target material between laser irrad.ations. The automatic alignment proced.re consists of a d.tailed.mapping of the impact positions at the target surface prior to the irrad.ation that ensures stable operation of the target, which al.ngsid. the purpose-built d.sign of the target wheel, enables operation at rates up to 10 Hz. Stable and.continuous laser-d.iven proton acceleration at 10 Hz is d.monstrated. with observed.cut-off energy stability about 15%.

We report the d.tection of aγ-ray bubble spanning at least 100d.g2 in ultra-high energy(UHE)up to a few PeV in the d.rection of the star-forming region Cygnus x.implying the presence super PeVatron(s)accelerating protons to at least 10 PeV.A log-parabola form with the photon ind.x.(E)=(2.71±0.02)+(0.11±0.02)×log10(E/10 TeV)is found.fitting the gamma-ray energy spectrum of the bubble *** sources,“hot spots”correlated.with very massive molecular cloud.,and.a quasi-spherical amorphousγ-ray emitter with a sharp central brightening are observed.in the *** the core of~0.5°,spatially associating with a region containing massive OB association(Cygnus OB2)and.a microquasar(Cygnus x.3),as well as previously reported.multi-TeV sources,an enhanced.concentration of UHEγ-rays is observed.with 2 photons at energies above 1 *** general feature of the bubble,the morphology,and.the energy spectrum,are reasonably reprod.ced.by the assumption of a particle accelerator in the core,continuously injecting protons into the ambient med.um.
