Background. Obes.ty is.currently cons.d.red.a public health problem. Bariatric proced.res.have become an important part of obes.ty management and. cons.quently, the number of male patients.s.eking pos.-bariatric recons.ructive proced.res.have increas.d. Therefore, the clinical approach and.und.rs.and.ng of the bod. contour of this.population have become more relevant. The goal of pos.-bariatric recons.ruction is.to enhance the male s.lhouette through removal of s.in and.ad.pos. tis.ue exces., and.abd.minal rectus.d.as.as.s.repair. Material and.Method.: We cond.cted.a retros.ective s.ud. at the Plas.ic and.Recons.ructive s.rgery d.partment of the National Med.cal Center “20 d. Noviembre”. All male patients.referred.to our d.partment to s.art a pos.-bariatric recons.ruction protocol from January 2018 to d.cember 2022 were includ.d.in this.s.ud.. Res.lts. In total, 15 patients.who und.rwent corporal contouring proced.res.were includ.d.med.an age was.49.2 years.with minimum of 33 years. and.a maximum of 57 years. Med.an Bod. mas. ind.x was.28.4 kg/ms.p>2s.p> with minimum of 22 kg/ms.p>2s.p> and.maximum of 38 kg/ms.p>2s.p>. All patients.were treated.18 months.after their bariatric s.rgery. All patients.und.rwent an abd.minoplas.y as.a bod. contouring proced.re. 4 (26.7%) patients.pres.nted.complications.related.to the s.rgery. Conclus.on: We d.s.ribed.a comprehens.ve and.s.s.ematic approach to mas.ive weight los. for male patients. s.gges.ing an abd.minal marking bas.d.on the patient’s.clinical features.and.the expected.res.lts.avoid.ng feminization of the abd.minal bod. contour.

Lump lime as.a fiux material in a bas.c oxygen furnace （BOF） often creates.problems.in operation d.e to its.high melting point, poor d.s.olution property, hygros.opic nature, and.fines.generation tend.ncy. To alleviate thes. problems. fluxed.lime iron oxid. pellets.（FLIP） containing 30% CaO were d.veloped.in this.s.ud. us.ng was.e iron oxid. fines.and.lime. The s.itable hand.ing s.rengths.of the pellet （crus.ing s.rength： 300 N; d.op s.rength： 130 times. of FLIP were d.veloped.by treating with CO2 or ind.s.rial was.e gas.at room temperature, while no s.parate bind.rs.were us.d. When the pellet was.ad.ed.into hot metal bath （carbon-containing molten iron）, it was.d.compos.d. melted. and.trans.ormed.to prod.ce low melting oxid.zing s.ag, becaus. it is.a combination of main CaO and.Fe2O3. This.s.ag is.s.itable for facilitating P and.C removal in refining. Furthermore, the pellet enhances.was.e utilization and.us. of CO2 in was.e gas. In this.article, emphas.s.is.given on s.ud.ing the behavior of thes. pellets.in hot metal bath d.ring melting and.refining along with thermod.namics.and.kinetics.analys.s. The obs.rved.behaviors.of the pellet in hot metal bath confirm that it is.s.itable and.beneficial for us. in BOF and.replaces.lump lime.

Huntington’s.d.s.as. is.a neurod.generative d.s.as. caus.d.by the expans.on mutation of a cytos.ne-ad.nine-guanine triplet in the exon 1 of the HTT gene which is.res.ons.ble for the prod.ction of the huntingtin (Htt) protein. In phys.ological cond.tions. Htt is.involved.in many cellular proces.es.s.ch as.cell s.gnaling, trans.riptional regulation, energy metabolis. regulation, d.A maintenance, axonal trafficking, and.antiapoptotic activity. When the genetic alteration is.pres.nt, the prod.ction of a mutant vers.on of Htt (mHtt) occurs. which is.characterized.by a plethora of pathogenic activities.that, finally, lead.to cell d.ath. Among all the cells.in which mHtt exerts.its.d.ngerous.activity, the GABAergic Med.um s.iny Neurons.s.em to be the mos. affected.by the mHtt-ind.ced.excitotoxicity both in the cortex and.in the s.riatum. However, as.the neurod.generation proceed. ahead.the neuronal los. grows.als. in other brain areas.s.ch as.the cerebellum, hypothalamus. thalamus. s.bthalamic nucleus. globus.pallid.s. and.s.bs.antia nigra, d.termining the variety of s.mptoms.that characterize Huntington’s.d.s.as.. From a clinical point of view, Huntington’s.d.s.as. is.characterized.by a wid. s.ectrum of s.mptoms.s.anning from motor impairment to cognitive d.s.rd.rs.and.d.mentia.
