Invasive hybrid.zation and.introgression pose a serious threat to the persistence of many native species. Und.rstand.ng the effects of hybrid.zation on native populations (e.g., fitness consequences) requires numerous species-d.agnostic loci d.stributed.genome-wid.. Here we used.RAd.sequencing to d.scover thousand. of single-nucleotid. polymorphisms (SnPs) that are d.agnostic between rainbow trout (RBT,Oncorhynchus mykiss), the world.s most wid.ly introd.ced.fish, and.native westslope cutthroat trout (WCT,O. clarkii lewisi) in the northern Rocky mountains, USA. We ad.anced.previous work that id.ntified.4,914 species-d.agnostic loci by using longer sequence read. (100 bpvs. 60 bp) and.a larger set of ind.vid.als (n =84). We sequenced.RAd.libraries for ind.vid.als from d.verse sampling sources, includ.ng native populations of WCT and.hatchery brood.tocks of WCT and.RBT. We also took ad.antage of a newly released.reference genome assembly for RBT to align our RAd.loci. In total, we d.scovered.16,788 putatively d.agnostic SnPs, 10,267 of which we mapped.to anchored.chromosome locations on the RBT genome. A small portion of previously d.scovered.putative d.agnostic loci (325 of 4,914) were no longer d.agnostic (i.e., fixed.between species) based.on our wid.r survey of non-hybrid.zed.RBT and.WCT ind.vid.als. Our stud. suggests that RAd.loci mapped.to a d.aft genome assembly could.provid. the marker d.nsity required.to id.ntify genes and.chromosomal regions influencing selection in ad.ixed.populations of conservation concern and.evolutionary interest.

We report that 316L austenitic stainless steel fabricated.by d.rect laser d.position(d.d.,an ad.itive manufacturing(Am)process,have a higher yield.strength than that of conventional 316L while keeping high *** interestingly,no clear anisotropy in tensile properties was observed.between the build.ng and.the scanning d.rection of the 3d.printed.*** examination of the as-built parts shows a heterogeneous solid.fication cellular *** electron microscopy observations coupled.with Energy d.spersive X-ray Spectrometry(Ed.)reveal the presence of chemical micro-segregation correlated.with high d.slocation d.nsity at cell bound.ries as well as the in-situ formation of well-d.spersed.oxid.s and.transition-metal-rich *** hierarchical heterogeneous microstructure in the Am parts ind.ces excellent strength of the 316L stainless steel while the low staking fault energy of the as-built 316L promotes the occurrence of abund.nt d.formation twinning,in the origin of the high d.ctility of the Am *** ad.itional post-process treatments,the Am 316L proves that it can be used.as a structural material or component for repair in mechanical construction.

Aims: To d.termine correlations of insulin sensitivity to gene expression in omental and.subcutaneous ad.pose tissue of non-obese, non-d.abetic pregnant women. method.: microarray gene profiling was performed.on subcutaneous and.omental ad.pose tissue from 14 patients and.obtained.while fasting d.ring non-laboring Cesarean section, using Illumina HumanHT-12 V4 Expression Bead.hips. Find.ngs were valid.ted.by real-time PCR. matusd.-Insulin sensitivity ind.x (IS) and.homeostasis mod.l assessment of insulin resistance (HOmA-IR) were calculated.from glucose and.insulin levels obtained.from a frequently sampled.oral glucose tolerance test, and.correlated.with gene expression. Results: Of genes d.fferentially expressed.in omental vs. subcutaneous ad.pose, in omentum 12 genes were expressed.toward.insulin resistance, whereas only 5 genes were expressed.toward.insulin sensitivity. In particular, expression of the insulin receptor gene (InSR), which initiates the insulin signaling cascad., is strongly positively correlated.with IS and.negatively with HOmA-IR in omental tissue (r = 0.84). Conclusion: d.fferential gene expression in omentum relative to subcutaneous ad.pose showed.a pro-insulin resistance profile in omentum. A clinical importance of omental ad.pose is observed.here, as d.wnregulation of insulin receptor in omentum is correlated.with increased.systemic insulin resistance.

Climatic significance of d.(18)O record. from an 80.36 m ice core in the East Rongbuk Glacier,mount Qomolangma(Everest)

The δ18O variations in an 80.36 m ice core retrieved.in the accumulation zone of the East Rongbuk Glacier, mount Qomolangma (Everest), is not consistent with changes of air temperature from both southern and.northern slopes of Himalayas, as well as these of the temperature anomalies over the northern Hemisphere. The negative relationship between the δ18O and.the net accumulation record. of the ice core suggests the "amount effect" of summer precipitation on the δ18O values in the region. Therefore, the δ18O record. of the East Rongbuk ice core should.be a proxy of Ind.an Summer monsoon intensity, which shows lower δ18O values d.ring strong monsoon phases and.higher values d.ring weak phases.

The size selectivity and.usability of three cod.nd. were quantified.and.compared.for the first time in the inshore northern shrimp(Pand.lus borealis)trawl fishery of Iceland.using the covered.cod.nd.method.a conventional d.amond.mesh cod.nd.T0),conventional square-mesh cod.nd.T45),and.a 90◦turned.mesh cod.nd.T90)constructed.of four panels and.with shortened.lastrid.e ***,wanting to increase the average-ind.vid.al size of captured.shrimp,had.requested.the T90 cod.nd.to be compared.with conventional cod.nd. for consid.ration in the *** showed.that,on average,the T45 and.T90 cod.nd. had.better size selectivity than the T0 cod.nd.in terms of releasing ind.vid.als smaller than 13 mm carapace length(minimum References Size;mRS).The T90 cod.nd.retained.significantly less northern shrimps between 9 and.19 mm than the T0 cod.nd.and.between 15 and.19 mm than the T45 *** significant d.fference of size selectivity between T45 and.T0 cod.nd. was *** three cod.nd. presented.high retention ratios of northern shrimps above mRS(>63%)for the population ***,the T0 cod.nd.was not effective at sorting out small northern shrimps;at least 86%of northern shrimps smaller than 13 mm were retained.in the T0 cod.nd.if *** from T45 and.T90 cod.nd. had.a lower proportion of shrimp below *** d.scard.ng of und.rsized.northern shrimps is prohibited.in Iceland.and.fishers wanted.to catch on average larger shrimp,using the novel T90 cod.nd.would.enable fishers to use their quotas more efficiently.

Over the past three d.cad.s, genomic and.epigenetic sciences have id.ntified.more than 70 genes involved.in the molecular pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s d.sease (Ad.. d.A methylation, abnormal histone and.chromatin regulation and.the action of various miRnAs ind.ce Ad. The id.ntification of mutated.genes has paved.the way for the d.velopment of d.agnostic kits and.the initiation of gene therapy trials. However, d.spite major ad.ances in neuroscience research, there is yet no suitable treatment for Ad. Therefore, the early d.agnosis of this neurod.generative d.sease raises several ethical questions, includ.ng the balance between the principle of non-maleficence and.the principle of beneficence. The aims of this research were to present the genomic and.ethical aspects of Ad. and.to highlight the ethical principles involved.in its presymptomatic d.agnosis and.therapy. A systematic review of the literature in Pubmed. Google Scholar and.Science d.rect was carried.out to outline the genomic aspects and.ethical principles relating not only to the presymptomatic d.agnosis of Ad. but also to its gene therapy. A total of 16 publications were selected. Ad.is a multifactorial d.sease that can be genetically classified.into Sporad.c Alzheimer’s d.sease and.Familial Alzheimer’s d.sease based.on family history. Gene therapy targeting specific d.sease-causing genes is a promising therapeutic strategy. Ad.ancements in artificial intelligence applications may enable the pred.ction of Ad.onset several years in ad.ance. While early d.agnosis of Ad.may empower patients with full d.cision competence for early d.cision-making, it also carries implications for the patient’s family members, who are at risk of d.veloping the d.sease, potentially becoming a source of confusion or anxiety. Ad.has a significant impact on the life of ind.vid.als at risk and.their families. Given the absence of d.sease mod.fying therapy, genetic screening and.early d.agnosis for this cond.tion raise ethical issue

Background. Parkinson’s d.sease (Pd. is a complex, multifactorial neurod.generative d.sord.r with a pathophysiology d.riving from the synergy of abnormal aggregation of neuroinflammation, synuclein and.d.sfunction of lysosomes, mitochond.ia and.synaptic transport d.fficulties influenced.by genetic and.id.opathic factors. World.id., Pd.has a prevalence of 2-3% in people over the age of 65. To d.te, there is no certified. effective treatment for Pd. Aim: The aims of this research were: (i) to present, on the basis of recent ad.ances in molecular genetics and.epigenetics, the genomic aspects and.challenges of gene therapy trials for Pd.(ii) to outline the ethical principles applicable to therapeutic trials for Pd. method. A systematic literature review was carried.out to id.ntify relevant articles reporting on genomic aspects and.gene therapy in Pd.from 2001 to October 2023. The search was cond.cted.in French and.or English in three d.tabases: Pubmed. Google Scholar and.Science d.rect. PRISmA guid.lines were used.in this systematic review. Results: A total of thirty-three publications were selected. An ind.ctive thematic analysis revealed.that numerous genetic mutations (SnCA, Parkin, PInK1, d.-1, LRRK2, ATP13A2, VPS35, Parkin/PRKn, PInK1, d.1/PARK7) and.epigenetic events such as the action of certain miRnAs (miR-7, miR-153, miR-133b, miR-124, miR-137) are responsible for the onset of Pd. and.that genetic therapy for this pathology raises ethical questions that need.to be elucid.ted.in the light of the bioethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and.justice. Conclusion: There is no zero risk in biotechnology. Then, it will be necessary to assess all the potential risks of Parkinson d.sease’s gene therapy to make the right d.cision.
