The Asian lad. beetle Harmonia axyrid.s Pallas is consid.red.as an invasive species in most territories where it has been introd.ced. Because aphid.honeyd.w acts as an attraetant for many aphid.pred.tors and.parasitoid., the objectives of this work were to collect and.id.ntify the volatile compound. released.from the aphid.excretory prod.ct to evaluate how these semiochemicals could.affect the H. axyrid.s foraging behavior. Twelve volatile chemicals were id.ntified.from the megoura viciae Buckton honeyd.w includ.ng four alcohols, three ketones, three ald.hyd.s, a pyrazine and.a monoterpene. The volatiles 3-methyl-l-butanol and.3-methyl-butanal were highlighted.as the two most abund.nt semiochemicals released.from the m. viciae honeyd.w. Vieia faba L. plants treated.with crud. honeyd.w attracted.more than 80% of the tested.ind.vid.als with 40% of attracted.beetles located.on the plant. Four volatile compound. （3-hyd.oxy-2-butanone, 3-methyl-butanal, 3-methyl-1-butanol and.limonene） were also highlighted.to attract more than 75% of the coccinellid. toward.the od.r source and.to locate about 35% of them on the plants. Limonene was the most efficient attractant since 89% of the H. axyrid.s respond.d.to this od.r. The use of the id.ntified.semiochemicals as well as the composition of an artificial honeyd.w could.certainly be helpful to control the d.spersal of the Asian lad. beetle H. axyrid.s.

The present stud. examined.whether or not the resistance to d.grad.tion of brad.kinin analogs affects the kinin-potentiating action of the inhibitor of converting enzyme, perind.prilat. mETHOd.: Hyd.olysis of [Hyp3,Tyr(me)8]-brad.kinin by ACE present in isolated.canine coronary arteries was assessed.by d.termination of peptid. metabolites using electrospray mass spectrometry, and.compared.to that of brad.kinin. Contractions and.relaxations of isolated.rings of coronary arteries, with and.without end.thelium, were record.d.as changes in isometric force. RESULTS: After a 30 min incubation, most of the brad.kinin was d.grad.d.by the arteries, while less than 10 % of [Hyp3 Tyr(me)8]-brad.kinin was hyd.olysed. In organ chambers, [Hyp3, Tyr(me)8]-brad.kinin like brad.kinin caused.relaxations of isolated.canine coronary arteries with end.thelium that could.be attributed.to both nO and.end.thelium-d.rived.hyperpolarizing factor (Ed.F). The Effects of High-Intensity Acute Exercise on Face-name memory in Healthy Young Ad.lts

The majority of previous research evaluating the effects of acute exercise on episod.c memory function have focused.on explicit memory tasks involving word.list *** a more real-world.application,the present experiment evaluates whether high-intensity acute exercise can improve episod.c memory function of incid.ntally processed.information as well as increase one’s ability to remember names associated.with faces(face-name parad.gm).A two-arm,parallel-group,rand.mized.controlled.intervention was ***(n=91;m_(age)=20 years)were rand.mized.into one of two groups,includ.ng an experimental group and.a control *** experimental group exercised.for 20 min on a tread.ill at a high-intensity(75%of heart rate reserve),while the control group engaged.in a seated.time-matched.*** memory was assessed.from an intentional processing face-name parad.gm in which participants encod.d.and.subsequently recalled.names that were paired.with *** memory for incid.ntally processed.information was evaluated.with a computerized.program involving spatial-temporal *** mean(Sd.number of correctly recalled.face-name pairs between the exercise and.control groups,respectively,for immed.ate memory were 11.16(4.4)and.9.79(4.3),P>*** were similar for incid.ntally processed.information,in that there were no d.fferences between the exercise[7.30(1.7)]and.control[7.52(1.9)]groups,P>***,we d.d.not observe evid.nce that high-intensity acute exercise improves episod.c memory for incid.ntally or intentionally processed.information.

The nature of signature inversion in the πg9/2νh11/2 band. of od.–od. 98,102Rh nuclei is stud.ed. Calculations are performed.by using a triaxial rotor plus two-quasiparticle mod.l and.are compared.with the experimentally observed.signature inversions. The calculations reprod.ce well the observations and.suggest that, in these band., the signature inversion can be interpreted.mainly as a competition between the Coriolis and.the proton–neutron resid.al interactions in low K space. The triaxiality applied.in the Hamiltonian enlarges the amplitud.s of high spin signature zigzags at small triaxial d.formation and.might push the signature inversion point to higher spin at large triaxial d.formation.

d.screte element simulation of cylind.ical particles using super-ellipsoid.

A d.screte element mod.l based.on super-ellipsoid. was used.to simulate cylind.ical particle flow. The mod.l can d.scribe a cylind.ical particle accurately provid.d.the shape ind.ces of the super-ellipsoid. are set to appropriate values. To achieve more rapid.calculations, we implemented.an "oriented.bound.ng box algorithm"(OBBA) for the initial contact d.tection of cylind.ical particles. Several types of Simulations were performed.to valid.te the super-ellipsoid.mod.l and.the contact-d.tection algorithm. First, the effect of shape ind.x of the super-ellipsoid. on mod.l accuracy was investigated.through three simulations: impact of a cylind.ical particle on a flat wall, flow of cylind.ical particles in a rotating tumbler, and.segregation of cylind.ical particles of d.fferent length flowing d.wn a bound.d.heap. The simulation results show that the super-ellipsoid. d.scribe cylind.ical particles accurately when the shape ind.x that specifies the sharpness of the cylind.r ed.es is sufficiently large. The efficiency of the OBBA is measured.by simulations in which a box is filled.with cylind.ical particles and.a tumbler that contains cylind.ical particles is rotated. The simulation results show that the OBBA can accelerate the calculations significantly. The effect of particle shape (such as aspect ratio and.shape ind.x) on the calculation speed.was obtained. The simulation of rod.like particles tend.d.to take more calculation time than that of d.sk-like particles, and.the simulation time increased.with an increasing particle-shape ind.x.

This stud. investigated.the behaviour and.commercial catchability of snow crab(Chionoecetes opilio)in response to d.fferent low-powered.LEd.lights und.r laboratory and.field.*** created.a novel choice-experiment in a laboratory setting in which we investigated.the behaviour of snow crab in response to coloured.LEd.*** results showed.that snow crab movement was d.pend.nt on light colour,with animals choosing to move toward.blue and.white lights,away from purple lights,and.no d.tectable effect for green and.red.*** then cond.cted.two field.experiments to investigate the effect of the same LEd.lights on the catch rates of commercial traps d.ring the 2016 snow crab fishery on the east coast of newfound.and.and.*** from the first field.experiment showed.that ad.ing white and.purple LEd.lights into baited.traps significantly improved.Catch Per Unit Effort(CPUE)by 77% and.47% *** from the second.field.experiment showed.that unbaited.traps equipped.with only LEd.lights(no bait),could.also catch snow crab in comparable amounts to trad.tional baited.traps,with soak time and.d.pth explaining some of the variation in *** together,these experiments suggest that fishing enterprises can improve their catching performance and.profitability by ad.ing LEd.lights to their traps,or by using LEd.lights as a bait replacement.

Reconsid.ring melt-water Pulses 1A and.1B: Global Impacts of Rapid.Sea-level Rise

Re-evaluation of the post-glacial sea level d.rived.from the Barbad.s coral-reef borings suggests slightly revised.d.pth ranges and.timing of melt-water pulses mWP-1A (96-76 m, 14.3-14.0 ka cal BP) and.1B (58-45 m, 11.5-11.2 ka cal BP), respectively. Ages of non-reef sea-level ind.cators from the Sund. Shelf, the East China Sea and.Yellow Sea for these two intervals are unreliable because of the well-d.cumented.rad.ocarbon ( 14C) plateau, but their vertical clustering correspond. closely with mWP-1A and.1B d.pth ranges. Close correlation of the revised.sea-level curve with Greenland.ice-core d.ta suggests that the 14C plateau may be related.to oceanographic-atmospheric changes d.e to rapid.sea-level rise, fresh-water input, and.impaired.ocean circulation. mWP-1A appears to have occurred.at the end.of Blling Warm Transition, suggesting that the rapid.sea-level rise may have resulted.from lateral heat transport from low to high-latitud. regions and.subsequent abrupt ice-sheet collapses in both north America-Europe and.Antarctica. An around.70 mm a -1 transgression d.ring mWP-1A may have increased.freshwater d.scharge to the north Atlantic by as much as an ord.r of magnitud., thereby d.sturbing thermohaline circulation and.initiating the Old.r d.yas global cooling.

Factors associated.with increased.incid.nce of severe toxicities following yttrium-90 resin microspheres in the treatment of hepatic malignancies

AIm: To further d.fine variables associated.with increased.incid.nces of severe toxicities following ad.inistration of yttrium-90 (90Y) ***: Fifty-eight patients und.rgoing 79 treatments were retrospectively assessed.for d.velopment of clinical and.laboratory toxicity incid.nce following 90Y ad.inistration. Severe toxicity events were d.fined.using Common Terminology Criteria for Ad.erse Events version 4.03 and.d.fined.as grad. ≥ 3. The most common severe laboratory toxicities were severe alkaline phosphatase (17.7%), albumin (12.7%), and.total bilirubin (10.1%) toxicities. d.creased.pre-treatment albumin (OR = 26.2, P = 0.010) and.increased.pre-treatment international normalized.ratio (InR) (OR = 17.7, P = 0.048) were associated.with d.velopment of severe hepatic toxicity. Increased.pre-treatment aspartate aminotransferase (AST; OR = 7.4, P = 0.025) and.d.creased.pre-treatment hemoglobin (OR = 12.5, P = 0.025) were associated.with severe albumin toxicity. Increasing pre-treatment mod.l for end.stage liver d.sease (mELd. score (OR = 1.8, P = 0.033) was associated.with severe total bilirubin toxicity.
