Atrial natriuretic peptid. (ANP) is an important component of the natriuretic peptid. system. A great role in many regulatory systems is played.by mast cells. Meanwhile involvement of these cells in ANP activity is poorly stud.ed. In this work, we have shown the presence of ANP in rat peritoneal mast cells. Pure fraction of mast cells was obtained.by separation of rat peritoneal cells on a Percoll d.nsity grad.ent. By Western blotting, two ANP-immunoreactive proteins of molecular masses of 2.5 kd. and.16.9 kd. were d.tected.in lysates from these mast cells. Electron microscope immunogold.labeling has revealed.the presence of ANP-immunoreactive material in storage, secreting and.released.granules of mast cells. Our find.ngs ind.cate the rat peritoneal mast cells to contain both ANP prohormone and.ANP. These both peptid.s are located.in mast cell secretory granules and.released.by mechanism of d.granulation. It is d.scussed.that many mast cell functions might be d.e to prod.ction of natriuretic peptid.s by these cells.

Oscillations and.their d.mping were investigated.for plant stems of Cyperus alternifolius L., Equisetum hyemale L., Equisetum fluviatile L., Juncus effuses L., Stipa gigantea Link, and.Thamnocalamus spathaceus (Franch.) Sod.rstr. With the exception of T. spathaceus, mechanical d.mping of the oscillation of ind.vid.al plant stems, even without sid. organs, leaves or inflorescences, is quite effective. Our experiments support the hypothesis that embed.ing stiff sclerenchymatous elements in a more compliant parenchymatous matrix provid.s the structural basis for the d.ssipation of mechanical energy in the plant stem. As an application the naturally occurring structures were mimicked.in a compound.material mad. from hemp fabrics em- bed.ed.in polyurethane foam, cured.und.r pressure. Like its natural mod.l it shows plastic d.formability and.viscoelastic be- haviour. In particular the material is characterized.by a remarkably high shock absorption capacity even for high impact load..

In this stud., castor oil, rapeseed.oil and.med.um chain triglycerid.s of coconut oil, were transesterified.bymeans of 2-ethyl-2-hyd.oxymethyl-1,3-propaned.ol (trimethylolpropane) and.consequently used.to convertpolycarbonate waste from end.of-life vehicles into liquid.polyols. The prepared.recycled.polyols, composed.niquely of renewable and.recycled.components, had.a hyd.oxyl number of ca. 250 mg KOH·g−1. They weresuccessfully applied.as 100% replacement of a virgin polyol for preparation of solid.crosslinked.polyurethanes(PU) by solvent-free casting. The prod.ced.rigid.cast PU exhibited.the main transition temperature rangingfrom 44°C to 53°C, the hard.ess value from 46 to 61 Shore d.and.the beneficial low water absorption (0.4-0.5wt.%). The PU network structure was highly influenced.by the presence of aromatic structures ofpolycarbonate-units and.fatty acid.compositions. A suitable selection of natural oil thus enabled.to ad.ustthermo-mechanical properties and.promote excellent optical transparency of the prod.ced.PU.
