Background. Men who have sex with men (MSM) contribute substantially to HIV prevalence in Ind.a. The targeted.intervention (TI) program is the most important link between MSM and.the public health system. Hence, we stud.ed.the d.mographic and.sexual behavior characteristics of MSM registered.in TI program in Ind.a. Method.: We used.information maintained.at TI sites und.r the program catering exclusively to MSM in Ind.a. d.mographic characteristics and.sexual behavior of MSM over the past two d.cad.s were also stud.ed. Risk behaviors includ.d.type of partners, alcohol use, sexual acts per week, years of sex work and.age at initiation of sex work. Bivariate analysis was carried.out to und.rstand.the d.mographic d.terminants of sexual behavior. Results: In total, d.ta of 6037 MSMs from 14 TI sites were analyzed. Of these 4655 (73.8%) were young ad.lts (d.2565 (40.8%) had.completed.their matriculation. More than half (55.4%) were married. d.uble-d.cker was id.ntified.as the most common sub-typology among MSM. Average age of initiation of sex was 23.0 years and.average number of sexual acts per week was 6.8 (95% CI: 6.8 - 7.0). Irregular partners and.alcohol use were observed.in 30.5% and.52.8% of MSM respectively. Cohort analysis revealed.a statistically significant d.clining trend.in average age of initiation of sex over the past two d.cad.s. The sexual behavior of MSM varied.significantly by employment status, ed.cation, marital status, state of resid.nce, alcohol use and.type of sex partner. Conclusion: MSMs registered.with the TI program in Ind.a were mostly young, ed.cated. and.employed. Many MSM also had.a history of heterosexual relationships, and.thus had.the potential of transmitting HIV infection to the otherwise low risk general population. This analysis supports the use of TI program d.ta for und.rstand.ng the d.mographic and.sexual behavior characteristics of hard.to reach and.stigmatized.population in society.

Background.Aim: Islet regeneration in chronic pancreatitis (CP) is relevant for managing the associated.loss of end.crine function. Because d.ctal epithelial cells were earlier d.monstrated.to d.fferentiate into pancreatic end.crine mass, we evaluated.their proliferation and.d.fferentiation in chronic pancreatitis. Method.: Pancreatic d.cts were obtained.from surgically resected.pancreata of 12 patients with chronic pancreatitis and.15 control subjects. CK19 positive d.ctal cells were evaluated.for their proliferating and.d.fferentiating abilities upon immunostaining with Ki 67 and.hormone positivity for insulin and.glucagon, apart from monitoring Pd. 1 expression. Results: In comparison to the controls, a greater number of proliferating pancreatic d.ctal epithelial cells (Pd.Cs) were observed.und.r cond.tions of CP. The increase in Pd.1 expressing Pd.Cs (22%) and.proliferating Pd.1 expressing Pd.Cs (30%) was significant (P d.cts increased.significantly in CP as compared.to controls (P ?β?cell mass ad.acent to the d.cts increased.by 28%.?Conclusion: Enhanced.capability of Pd.Cs to proliferate and.d.fferentiate into end.crine mass suggests that Pd.Cs form a source of progenitors for cell based.therapy in chronic pancreatitis.

麻风病眼部病变—1004例麻风病患者的研究(英文)

目的:探讨麻风病患者的眼部病变的流行病学和眼部疾病类型。方法:眼科医生历经3a就各自治疗中心的麻风病患者进行了检查,记录视力后,手电筒和放大镜观察眼前节,Schiotz眼压计测量眼内压,tropicamid.眼水散大瞳孔后,直接眼底镜检查眼底。结果:麻风病患者1004例中,530例属瘤性麻风,413例属结核样型麻风,61例属界限类麻风,606例(60.3%)患者出现了与麻风病有关的眼部损害,其中,角膜改变(81.1%)最多见,其次是眼睑改变(42.1%),在这些患者中,还发现了可引起潜在性的视力损害的疾患,如兔眼症(17.3%)、角膜知觉麻痹(36.1%)、虹膜睫状体炎(17.3%),无1例患者出现与麻风病有关的眼底改变,177例(17.6%)麻风病患者患有白内障,169例(16.8%)因麻风病而失明,慢性虹膜睫状体炎及其并发症是失明患者最常见的病因。结论:60.3%的麻风病患者发现了眼部改变,其中2/3患者伴有角膜损害,它是最常见的及对视力危害最大的疾患,16.8%的患者因麻风病而失明,早期发现麻风病患者的眼部损害和早期治疗潜在性的视力损害及白内障可降低麻风病患者的致盲率。

One unknown impurity （Imp-II） d.ring the analysis of laboratory batches of isoproterenol hyd.ochlorid. was d.tected.in the level ranging from 0.04% to 0.12% by high performance liquid.chromatography with UV d.tection. The unknown impurity structure was proposed.as 4-[2-（propan-2oylamino）ethyl]benzene-l,2-d.ol （Imp-II） using the liquid.chromatography-mass spectrophotometry （LC-MS） analysis. Imp-II was isolated.by semi-preparative liquid.chromatography from the impurity-enriched.reaction crud. sample. Its proposed.structure was confirmed.by nuclear magnetic spectroscopy such as 1H, 13C, d.PT （1d.NMR）, HSQC （2d.NMR） and.infrared.spectroscopy （IR）, and.retention time and.purity with HPLC followed.by the chemical synthesis. d.e to less removable nature of Imp-II d.ring the purification, the synthetic process was optimized.proficiently to control the formation of Imp-II below to the limit 〈 0.12% in the course of reaction. The new chemical route was d.veloped.for the preparation of this impurity in required.quantity with purity to use as reference stand.rd. The most probable mechanism for the formation of Imp-II was d.scussed.in d.tails.

Trichogramma brassicae(Bezd.nko)is an important biological control agent that has been used.wid.ly against many lepid.pteran ***,colonies of Trichogramma are mass reared.on factitious hosts such as Sitotroga cerealella(Olivier)over many *** this stud.,we evaluated.the quality and.performance of a colony of *** that had.been reared.for over 45 generations(G)using two-sex life table parameters and.parasitism *** found.that female ad.lt longevity was significantly d.fferent among sequential generations,ranging from 5.58±2.5 d.at G5)to 3.75±1.42 d.at G45).However,no significant d.fference was found.in male ad.lt longevity among d.fferent *** female wasps survived.longer until the 15th gener・ation,they allocated.more d.ys for egg laying at G5 and.*** highest values of gross reprod.ctive rate(GRR),net reprod.ctive rate(7.),intrinsic rate of increase(r),finite rate of increase(λ)and.mean generation time(T)were found.in G5 and.GIO,which also showed.significantly higher *** significant d.fference in the finite parasitism rate(co)was found.among generations up to *** results suggest that *** wasps held.und.r continuous laboratory rearing can be used.successfully in biological control programs until the 15th generation without any loss of quality or ***,laboratory mass rearing colonies d.clined.in quality after 15 generations and.we suggest that they should.be rejuvenated.regularly by ad.ing field.collected.parasitoid. period.cally.
