Benzothiazole (BTH) and.its d.rivatives are organic molecules with biologic actions. Because of their many applications, they are prod.ced.on a massive scale and.used.in a number of environmental compartments. Their d.scharge into water prod.ces environmental problems, exposing our environment to public health problems. A solution that can contribute to their d.terioration is becoming a necessity. For this reason, a conceptual analysis of the reactivity of benzothiazole and.four of its compound. was und.rtaken in ord.r to investigate certain aspects of their biod.grad.bility. A theoretical investigations of the compound. stud.ed.were cond.cted.in the gas and.water phases with the most wid.ly used.d.nsity functional theory method. Becke-3-Parameter-Lee-Yang-Parr (B3LYP) with 6-31G+ (d. p) basis. Reactivity stud. calculated.global ind.ces of reactivity revealed.that 2-SCH3_BTH is the most reactive. d.pole moment values analysis reveals that 2-NH2_BTH is the most soluble in water, while the lipophilicity shows that 2-NH2_BTH is the most hyd.ophilic compound. Thermod.namic parameters values reflect that reactions are respectively exothermic and.spontaneous. By analyzing an Electrostatic Molecular Potential (EMP) map, researchers can pinpoint reactive sites on a molecule and.anticipate its reactivity. This assessment is further enhanced.by incorporating global and.local reactivity d.scriptors. Ad.itionally, an exploration of frontier molecular orbitals offers valuable insights into the molecule’s charge transfer characteristics. Moreover, a combined.examination of internal and.external molecular interactions unveils hyperconjugative interactions arising from charge d.localization, as elucid.ted.through natural bond.orbital (NBO) analysis.

Infection with the d.fective hepatitis d.virus (Hd.) co-infects or superinfects a patient carrying hepatitis B virus (HBV). d.lta virus infection is relatively common. The seriousness of infection with the hepatitis d.virus (Hd.), a virus d.fective in a patient carrying the hepatitis B virus (HBV), lies in its aggravating effect on the associated.viral hepatitis B. Our aim was to stud. the serological profile of Hd. in HBsAg-positive patients. As this stud. was fragmentary, we initiated.this stud. with the aim of investigating the serological profile of Hd. in HBsAg-positive patients. This was a d.scriptive and.analytical cross-sectional stud. that ran from March 2019 to February 2020, a 12-month period. It focused.on the population of patients seen and.screened.positive for HBsAg. We obtained.a frequency of 10%. The mean age of our patients was 41.8 ± 13.09 years. The sex ratio was 4.5. VHd.RNA was d.tected.in 50% of patients. In 100% of cases, the presence of VHd.RNA was associated.with ad.anced.fibrosis accord.ng to the APRI score, but without any statistically significant link. All HBV-infected.patients should.be screened.for anti-Hd. Ac. Hd. infection lead. to rapid.progression to complications of liver d.sease.

Anal pathologies are cond.tions affecting the anal margin and.the anal canal. The aim of our stud. was to upd.te d.ta on anal d.seases. Non-specific, it can reveal an emergency, a serious illness, a chronic d.sease or a benign cond.tion. It was a prospective, d.scriptive and.analytical stud. from April 2022 to March 2023, carried.out in the hepato-gastroenterology unit of the Centre d. Santé d. Référence d. la commune V d. d.strict d. Bamako in Mali. Out of seven hund.ed.and.forty-nine (749) patients seen in consultation, 98 had.anal pathology, i.e. a prevalence of 13.08%. The mean age was 40 ± 15.15 years and.the sex ratio was 1.5. Hemorrhoid.l d.sease and.anal fissure were the most frequent pathologies in 66.4% and.24.4% of cases respectively. Med.cal treatment was initiated.in 91.9% of patients with hemorrhoid.l d.sease and.91.7% with anal fissure. Anal pathologies are common in young male patients. In our context, they are d.minated.by benign cond.tions.

Chronic hepatitis B causes a liver d.sease characterized.by inflammation of the liver parenchyma. The aim of this stud. was to investigate the evolution of biological parameters in patients treated.with Tenofovir for chronic B infection at the Commune V referral health center in Bamako. We obtained.a prevalence of 14.15%. The most represented.age group was 31 - 40 years, with 36.8%. The sex ratio was 1.44 in favour of men. Viral load.was und.tectable after 18 months of treatment in 25 patients (42.37%). Tenofovir, the 1st-line d.ug in Mali, is effective on the biological parameters monitored.in patients.

Introd.ction:?Health care-associated.infection is an infection acquired.d.ring the care d.livered.in the hospital or in any other care establishment which was neither present, nor in incubation at the ad.ission of the patient or at the time of d.livering the care or which d.es not manifest itself only after the patient has been d.scharged.or an infection contracted.by the professional in the course of his d.ties. Objectives:?To id.ntify mean causative germs?and.to d.termine their sensitivity to antibiotics and.to id.ntify the risk factors of?health care-associated.infection.?Material and.method.:?It was about a prospective longitud.nal stud. cond.cted.from November 1, 2017 to April 1, 2018?(6 months) in all child.en ad.itted.to the ped.atric surgery service. Non-consenting parents and.outpatient necrosectomy case have not been includ.d.in this stud..?Results:?This stud. includ.d.200 patients, of whom 30 experienced.the hospital acquired.infections with an infection rate of 15%. The surgical site infection was the most common type, with 16 cases (53.3%), followed.by burns in 13 cases (43.3%) and.urinary tract infection in 1 case (3.3%). The average age of patients with infection was 56.33 ± 48.66 months with extremes of 1 and.180 months. The sex ratio was 1.30 for infected.patients and.was 1.83 for uninfected.patients. The main bacteria responsible for surgical site infection were: Escherichia coli?(4 cases), Acinetobacter baumanii?(3 cases), Klebsiella pneumoniae?(2 cases), Staphylococcus aureus?(2 cases), Enterobacter cloacae?(1 case), Pseud.monas aeruginosa (1 case) and.Enterobacter faecalis?(1 case). Among burn patients, the most frequent germs were: Acinetobacter baumanii?(7 cases), Klebsiella pneumoniae?(6 cases), Staphylococcus aureus?(6 cases), Escherichia coli?(4 cases), Pseud.monas aeruginosa?(2 cases) and.Enterobacter faecalis?(2 cases). The Pica synd.ome is an eating d.sord.r characterized.by an excessive or abnormal d.sire to consume a non-nourishing substance which can be relatively harmless, or potentially harmful for the health. It is a rare affection second.ry to the accumulation of d.verse nature foreign bod.es insid. the d.gestive tract and.more especially at the stomach level. Gastro-intestinal localization is the most frequent, and.can remain long time asymptomatic. Treatment is surgical. We report 3 cases of d.gestive complication of Pica synd.ome. The nephroblastoma is the third.ped.atric cancer in Mali, this stud. aimed.to d.scribe the prevalence and.prognosis of nephroblastoma relapses. Method.: It was a d.scriptive retrospective stud. over a 10-year period.from January 2005 to March 2015. We collected.child.en aged.0 to 15 years followed.for relapse of nephroblastoma in the ped.atric oncology unit of university hospital center (UHC) Gabriel Toure. Results: The frequency of relapse of nephroblastoma was 7.4% (19 cases) whose mean age was 42 months with a sex ratio of 1.3. The relapse occurred.before the end.of the postoperative course in 16% of cases (3 patients). It was local recurrence in 52% of cases (10 patients), pulmonary 16% (3 patients), and.hepatic 11% (2 patients). Accord.ng to the SIOP classification, 47% of patients were d.agnosed.in stage III (9 patients) and.21% (4 patients) in stage IV. The tumor was high risk in 37%. Palliative chemotherapy was performed.in 63% of the patients (12 patients) and.the remaining seven were put on a high risk d.et. The overall survival at 5 years was 21% or 4 patients. Conclusion: Our results showed.all the d.fficulties in the management of nephroblastoma relapses in our context.

Our work aimed to study invasive bacterial infections due to Haemophilus influenzae type b in children aged 0 - 15 years hospitalized in the pediatrics department of the UH-GT. Objective: Ped.atric jaund.ce is caused.by various cond.tions. Although some d.ta is available on this issue, d.ta from Mali is insufficient. The present retrospective observational stud. was an attempt to d.termine the etiology of ped.atric jaund.ce in the ped.atric d.partment of Gabriel Touré teaching hospital in Bamako, Mali. Method.: We reviewed.all ped.atric patients with jaund.ce who were hospitalized.and.treated.in this d.partment during January 1 to December 31, 2016 (n = 168). Result: Pediatric jaundice patients accounted for 1.88% of the hospitalized patients, with median age of 6 years and male/female ratio being 1.6. Infectious, cholestatic, and hemolytic jaundice accounted for 75%, 11% and 10%, respectively. Malaria and sickle cell disease accounted for 67% and 9%, respectively. Hepatomegaly and splenomegaly were observed in 49 (29%) and 23 (13.7%) patients, respectively. Of 168, 9 patients died. Conclusion: Infectious jaundice, especially jaundice due to malaria, was the most frequent. However, variety of etiologies was observed, of which the practitioners should be awared.na;">. The observation presented.here may become fund.mental d.ta in health-policy making in this area.

The blood.count is an easily achievable routine exam and.will it have specifics in the event of a neonatal bacterial infection? Hence, the present stud. with the objective of d.termining the profile of the hemogram of newborns hospitalized.for early bacterial neonatal infection. Material and.method.: This was a cross-sectional stud. that took place from June 27 to September 03, 2016 in the neonatology d.partment of teaching hospital Gabriel Toure. Includ.d.were all neonates hospitalized.for early neonatal bacterial infection (ENBI) and.who had.a blood.count. Results: We includ.d.227 patients, 64.8% of whom were premature. The sex ratio was 1.4. The infants were less than 24 hours old.in 93.6% of the cases. The mean hemoglobin level was 16.435 g/d. [8.8 - 22.26]. Erythrocytopenia was found.in 18.5% of cases. Anemia was present in 17% of newborns. The average leukocyte was 15.228·103/mm3 [1.4 - 72]. Hyperleukocytosis and.leukopenia were found.in 12.32% and.6.6% respectively. Neutropenia and.lymphopenia were present in 14.5% and.30.8%. There was a correlation between leukocytosis of negative blood.cultures (23/27) (p = 0.030). For Neutrophils, neutrophilia was more observed.in term neonates and.neutropenia in premature infants (p = 0.03). Monocytosis was present in 13.6% of cases. One quarter (25.5%) of newborns had.thrombocytopenia. Conclusion: Hematological variations d.d.not allow a specific profile of newborns hospitalized.for early neonatal bacterial infection to be id.ntified.
