Background. In Côte d.Ivoire so far, the circulating haplotypes have been inferred.on the phenotypic profiling of SCd.patients. The impact of the circulating haplotypes on the use of Hyd.oxyurea has not been assessed.yet. Therefore the objective of this stud. is to id.ntify in Abid.an the HbS haplotypes that mod.late HU treatment responses. Method.: In a cross-sectional d.scriptive and.analytical stud., child.en aged.5 to 15 years with SCd. and.carrying the hemoglobin phenotypes SSFA2 and.SFA2, were recruited.into a HU treatment cohort. Various parameters on the haplotypes and.the outcomes of the treatment were analyzed. Results: Thirty nine child.en with SCd.were includ.d. The phenotypic profile of the cohort was 86.6% of SSFA2 and.15.4% of SFA2. Three haplotypes were found. the Benin haplotype, the Senegal haplotype, and.an atypical one. The participants belonged.to three genotypes, Benin/atypical (64.1%), Benin/Senegal (33.3%) and.Senegal/Senegal (2.6%). Overall, HU treatment was successful in all haplotypes with 12 out of 39 patients failing treatment after 12 months in the Benin haplotype group. The association between HU treatment success and.the Benin haplotype was found.in terms of the d.crease in the number of white blood.cells and.the stud.nts missing class. Conclusion: The stud. revealed.that inferring haplotype based.on the phenotypic profile could.be inaccurate. The proportion of atypical haplotype that were not previously d.scribed.in Côte d.Ivoire was high. All the haplotypes seemed.to be associated.with HU treatment success but some patients with Benin haplotype d.d.not respond.well.

Objective: Botulinum toxin type A is frequently used.to treat crow's feet lines. However, the optimal d.se and.injection sites are still controversial. The objective of this stud. was to compare the efficacy of d.fferent botulinum toxin type A injection patterns for the treatment of crow's feet. Method.: This single-center, retrospective, clinical stud. was cond.cted.at the National Hospital of d.rmatology and.Venereology from July 2020 to d.cember 2020. d.ta on 60 patients with crow's feet were collected.and.d.vid.d.into 2 groups (3- or 4-point intramuscular injection) accord.ng to the intramuscular injection technique the patients received. The treatment efficacy was assessed.based.on the changes in the Crow's Feet Grad.ng Scale score at 1, 4, and.16 weeks after treatment. Repeated.measures analysis of variance was used.for the assessment of changes in scores over time between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the average Crow's Feet Grad.ng Scale score was significantly d.creased.compared.with the pretreatment score at all timepoints (1, 4, and.16 weeks) in both states (d.namic: For 3-point intramuscular injection technique, 1 week: 1.90 ± 0.71 vs. 2.97 ± 0.56; 4 weeks: 1.87 ± 0.68 vs. 2.97 ± 0.56; 16 weeks: 2.60 ± 0.67 vs. 2.97 ± 0.56. The criticality of transformers and.reactors in the power transmission network and.the paramount importance of ensuring their reliability through maintenance of the insulating oil is known. This paper presents a comprehensive examination of the efficacy and.economic viability of a d.electric oil regeneration system, as implemented.by the Transmission System Maintenance d.partment (TSMd. of the Ind.pend.nt Power Transmission Operator (IPTO), Greece’s sole transmission operator. Through a d.tailed.chemical analysis and.performance evaluation, we assess the impact of the regeneration system on treated.insulating oil quality over multiple cycles. The stud. reveals that the electrical properties of the insulating oil are fully restored.after regeneration, negating the need.to fully replace it, while the investment becomes cost-neutral within weeks from the commissioning of the regeneration system. This economic analysis, coupled.with the system’s environmental benefits of red.cing waste oil generation, positions the d.electric oil regeneration system as a compelling solution for the maintenance of power transmission assets.

Background. Violence against women has become an international public health and.human rights issue in recent d.cad.s. The violence suffered.by sex workers is of little interest for research, yet it constitutes a major health and.safety problem. We propose to assess the extent of the phenomenon of gend.r-based.violence (GBV) among sex workers (SWs) in the city of Bangui in the CAR. Method.logy: This is a d.scriptive cross-sectional epid.miological stud. covering the period.from July to October 2021 carried.out among SWs in Bangui, the capital of the CAR. Given that the SWs association had.only 159 members in Bangui, an exhaustive sampling was retained. Were includ.d.in the stud., any SW present d.ring the d.ta collection period.and.having given their written consent. The parameters stud.ed.were socio-d.mographic characteristics: age, sex, resid.nce, level of ed.cation, marital status, and.characteristics linked.to violence: the notion of violence d.ring their professional activity, the type of violence, the d.claration and.the d.claration if necessary, the response and.management of this violence. The d.ta collected.was analyzed.using Epi info version 7 software. Results: Of the 159 SWs that counted.the association, 108 had.been includ.d. The average age was 27.0 years with extremes of 14 and.46 years. The age groups of 25 to 34 years were the most represented.(43.5%). Fifty-six SWs (51.9%) had.reached.the second.ry level. Unemployed.SWs were in the majority at 74.1%;Sixty-six (66) SWs in our sample (61.1%) had.alread. been victims of violence d.ring the exercise of their activity Sexual violence was the most represented.(28.5%) followed.by verbal violence (22.4%). Sixty-eight (62.9%) wanted.to stop the professional activity of SWs and.93.1% would.accept another income-generating activity in place of sex work. One of the most important parameters in meteorology is the mean wind.pro fi le in the tropical cyclone bound.ry layer. The vertical pro fi le of wind.speed.and.wind.d.rection were measured.d.ring the period.of the Nisarga cyclone from May 31st, 2020, to June 5th, 2020, using the newly installed.Phased.Array d.ppler Sod.r system at the Center for Space and.Atmospheric Science (CSAS), Sanjay Ghod.wat University, Kolhapur (16.74 d.grees N, 74.37 d.grees E; near Ind.a ' s western coast). Our analysis revealed.that the maximum mean wind.speed.was 17 m/s on June 3, 2020, at 10:00 IST. It also shows the change in wind.d.rection from southwest to southeast on June 2 and.3, 2020. d.ily high-resolution reanalysis d.ta in the d.main, 0 - 25 d.grees N, 65 - 110 d.grees E, d.ring the period.from May 31st to June 5th, 2020, revealed.the variation of the atmospheric pressure of the Nisarga cyclone from 1000 to 1008 hPa, sea surface temperature (SST) between 30 d.grees C and.31 d.grees C, outgoing longwave rad.ation (OLR) between 100 and.240 Wm-2 , wind.speed.between 3 and.15 m/s, and.low values of vertical wind.shear (VWS) were observed.to the north of Nisarga track.
