Chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection is associated with multifarious extra-hepatic manifestations;the most described and discussed being mixed cryoglob-ulinemia which is strongly related to B-cell lympho-proliferative disorders(LPds).We present a case of chronic HCV infection and mixed cryoglobulinemia,with minimal liver *** case is a 53-year-old patient who was diagnosed as having bone marrow hypoplasia at the age of *** received several blood transfusions to normalize her *** the age of 31,she was diagnosed with rheumatoid ar-thritis on account of her diffuse joint pain and inflam-mation,elevated rheumatoid factor(RF) and Raynaud's *** years later,monoclonal gam-mopathy of IgG Lambda(one year later,changed to IgM Kappa) was detected during a routine examina-tion.A bone marrow biopsy showed hypoplasia,Kappa positive B-lymphocytes and low-grade malignant lym-phoma *** of the bone marrow aspirate was not *** treatment was initiated owing to herpoor bone marrow function and she is under regular follow-up.

Study on Food Import in d. R. Congo

democratic Republic of Congo is a developing country located in Central Africa with a population of over 75 million. Generally, it relies on import in international market for food as it has constantly been experiencing domestic crisis which hinders production. Given the importance of shores price policy and income policy, the government pays meticulous attention to these factors to meet the present and future food security. In order to understand the import behavior related to GdP and international trade prices, the study employs Almost Idea demand System (AIdS) model using FAO data. The result explains that price effect is more useful to the food security of the country than the income effect, thus this study suggest the government should give priority to policy on price.

Phytochemical Study and Anti-nutritional Factors in Stems of dioscorea praehensilis Benth(dioscoreaceae)

The aim of this research was to find and assay phytochemical compounds and various biological macromolecules of the tender stems of dioscorea praehensilis benth and evaluate their antioxidant activity and to compare the content of oxalates and cyanogenetic glucosides between raw and cooked tender *** plant collection and identification,phytochemical evaluation:phytochemical screening,preliminary(qualitative)analyses and in vitro *** screening was performed by qualitative *** estimation of the content of secondary metabolites was evaluated by *** activity was evaluated using the ABTS and dPPH assays and preliminary composition by the gravimetric *** results obtained show that the stems of dioscorea praehensilis are devoid of certain important chemical groups,the flavonoids were not detected and they were rich in total polyphenols(17.22±0.16),tannins(19.32±0.52)and anthocyanins(25.22±0.04).Our extracts showed a lower antioxidant activity than that of positive *** samples are rich in carbohydrates and fiber,with low levels of proteins,lipids and *** praehensilis has a high toxicity in HCN,but after a good cooking of about 1 hour,99.97%of the cyanide are eliminated and does not have many *** results obtained show that dioscorea praehensilis has a high dietary value and can therefore be used as a nutritive food.
