Rapid plasmonic biosensing has attracted wide attention in early disease diagnosis and molecular biology ***,it was still challenging for conventional angle-interrogating plasmonic sensors to obtain higher sensitivity without secondary amplifying labels such as plasmonic *** address this issue,we developed a plasmonic biosensor based on the enhanced lateral position shift by phase *** singularity presents as a sudden phase retardation at the dark point of reflection from resonating plasmonic substrate,leading to a giant position shift on reflected ***,for the first time,the atomically thin layer of Ge2Sb2Te5(GST)on silver nanofilm was demonstrated as a novel phase-response-enhancing plasmonic *** GST layer was not only precisely engineered to singularize phase change but also served as a protective layer for active silver *** new configuration has achieved a record-breaking largest position shift of 439.3μm measured in calibration experiments with an ultra-high sensitivity of 1.72×10^(8)nm RIU−1(refractive index unit).The detection limit was determined to be 6.97×10^(−7)RIU with a 0.12μm position ***,a large figure of merit(FOM)of 4.54×10^(11)μm(RIU∙°)^(−1)was evaluated for such position shift interrogation,enabling the labelfree detection of trace amounts of *** targeted biosensing experiments,the optimized sensor has successfully detected small cytokine biomarkers(TNF-αand IL-6)with the lowest concentration of 1×10^(−16)*** two molecules are the key proinflammatory cancer markers in clinical diagnosis,which cannot be directly screened by current clinical *** further validate the selectivity of our sensing systems,we also measured the affinity of integrin binding to arginylglycylaspartic acid(RGD)peptide(a key protein interaction in cell adhesion)with different Mn2+ion concentrations,ranging from 1 nM to 1 mM.

Glycemic Responses of Food Formulations Based on White Rice and White Bean

The management of diabetes mellitus is based on lifestyle and dietary measures suggesting the consumption of foods with a low glycemic index. The present study was conducted in order to propose food formulas based on white rice and white beans resulting in a lower glycemic response. For this, food formulations based on these foods were first made, in particular the formulation [75% white rice + 25% white beans] and the formulation [50% rice + 50% white beans]. Then, the biochemical composition of white rice, white bean and these two formulations was determined by the usual methods. Finally, their glycemic responses over 120 minutes were studied by the FAO/ WHO 1998 method. The results showed that white rice [100% white rice] had the highest carbohydrate content (54.61%) followed respectively by the formulation [75% white rice + 25% white bean] (45.69%), the white bean [100% white bean] (29.1%) and the formulation [50% white rice + 50% white bean] (26.16%). In terms of glycemic responses, the formulation [50% white rice + 50% white beans] presented the best evolution with a lower peak (6.041 mmol/L) observed at T45min and a lower postprandial glycemia (4.872 mmol/ L) at T120min. An increase in the proportion of beans is therefore recommended as it may suggest a beneficial metabolic effect.

在乡村振兴和农村产业融合大背景下,正确认识和处理农业生产性服务业和新型农业经营主体之间的协调发展关系具有重要意义。为明确农业生产性服务业与新型农业经营主体两系统的耦合协调关系,基于吉林省2010-2022年农业生产性服务业与新型农业经营主体的时间序列数据,运用协整分析、Granger因果检验和耦合协调模型分析农业生产性服务业与新型农业经营主体间的互动关系和动态耦合发展趋势。结果表明:吉林省农业生产性服务业与新型农业经营主体发展水平持续攀升,分别由0.284 9提升至0.837 9、0.100 1提升至0.994 1;农业生产性服务业与新型农业经营主体两系统存在着显著正相关的长期均衡关系,且互为格兰杰原因,即农业生产性服务业是有效促进新型农业主体发展的重要原因,新型农业经营主体是推动推动农业生产性服务业提升的重要动力;2010-2022年,吉林省农业生产性服务业与新型农业经营主体之间的耦合协调关系上升趋势明显,先后经历拮抗阶段(0.410 9)、勉强协调(0.517 9~0.572 0)、初级协调(0.637 4)、中级协调(0.735 8~0.773 8)、高度协调(0.843 1~0.870 9~0.916 6~0.914 7~0.914 8~0.915 3~0.915 7)的变化过程,目前两系统处于关系稳定的高水平耦合阶段。未来应通过促进农业生产性服务业与新型农业经营主体协调发展推进现代农业进程。

Optimum insulation thickness and exergy savings of building walls in Bamenda: a comparative analysis

The goal of this study is to examine the energetic,entransy,and exergetic methodologies employed to estimate the ideal insulation thickness for construction walls in terms of cost and ecological *** achieve these goals,the life cycle cost analysis-based insulating thicknesses of the various methods are evaluated along with the overall costs,yearly cost reductions,and total *** fuel consumption,CO_(2) emissions,and ecological effects are then compared using an environmental analysis based on the three *** savings of hollow concrete brick(HCB),compressed stabilized earth brick(CSEB),and sundried earth brick(SEB)walls are evaluated along with the insulation thicknesses in terms of cost and ecological *** a result,it is determined that the exergetic technique is better suited for optimizing insulating *** CSEB,SEB,and HCB walls,the economic ideal insulation thicknesses are 0.01 m,0.016 m,and 0.02 m,with yearly financial savings of 5$⋅m^(-2),7.5$⋅m^(-2),and 9$⋅m^(-2).For CSEB,SEB,and HCB walls,accordingly,the ecological optimal insulation thicknesses are 0.023 m,0.032 m,and 0.040 m,with net savings of exergetic ecological impact equal to 59 mPts⋅m^(-2),55 mPts⋅m^(-2),and 51 mPts⋅m^(-2).

一些飞机在飞行过程中前起落架舱内会出现剧烈的振动,造成舱内零部件的结构疲劳以及舱门的结构破坏。采用分离涡模拟方法对某典型前起落架舱半开口空腔(前舱门打开,后舱门关闭)进行数值模拟,通过与试验数据的对比,验证了计算方法的可靠性。基于此,在前起落架舱内不同位置加装不同角度、不同面积的导流板,以此来改变空腔流动形态,对比分析其对压力脉动频谱以及后舱门所受载荷的影响。结果表明:在合理位置安装导流板可有效抑制前起落架舱中的气动噪声以及削弱后舱门所受的载荷,具备一定的工程应用价值;在导流板的安装参数中,仅安装角度对噪声抑制效果的影响较小;相比安装参数,导流板的面积影响相对较大,增加面积,可大幅提升降噪效果。

Detailed Analyses of Nymphea Seeds Consumed in the Senegal River Valley

Physicochemical investigations were performed on seeds of Nymphea lotus and N. micrantha consumed in the Senegal River valley. They revealed a composition similar to that of cereals. In order to estimate their intrinsic quality, the determination of their amino acid, fatty acid and monosaccharids profiles was done. The results indicate that monosaccharides are represented specifically by saccharose (7%) and glucose (0.67%);a predominance of stearic acid and linoleic acid as unsaturated acids (24.86%);arachidic and palmitic acids as the only saturated acid found (11.12%);a good ratio of unsaturated/saturated acid (2.23);a lack of oleic acid, linoleic, palmitoleic, myristic, caprylic acids;a poor-quality index protein due to low quantity amino acids. Nevertheless, all essential amino acids are present in the seeds. The Nymphea sp grains consumed by the populations around the Senegal River valley offer an interesting nutritional quality linked to fatty acids and carbohydrates.

Semisynthetic Derivatives of Sissotrin Isolated from Trifolium baccarinii Chiov. (Fabaceae) and Evaluation of Their Antibacterial Activities

Starting from sissotrin (1), a natural isoflavonoid isolated from Trifolium baccarinii (Fabaceae), one new semisynthetic derivative, 6-nitrobiochanin A (1b) and two known derivatives, 8-nitrobiochanin A (1a) and 2",3",4",6"-tetraacetylsissotrin (1c) have been obtained after performing nitration and acetylation reactions. Their structures were assigned after interpretation of their spectrometric (HR-ESI-MS) and spectroscopic (NMR 1D and 2D) data and by comparison with those reported in the literature. The substrate as well as the semisynthetic derivatives were evaluated for their antibacterial activities against six strains. The results reveal that they are inactive or weakly active on the strains tested with the exception of 8-nitrobiochanin A (1a) which showed moderate activity (MIC = 62.5 μg∙mL−1) on Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 43300.

Endometriosis beyond the Pelvis: A Case Series of Cutaneous Endometriosis and Literature Review

Introduction: Cutaneous endometriosis is an uncommon but well-known skin disorder that represents about 0.5% to 1% of all endometriosis. The objective of this case series is to report clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of various forms of cutaneous endometriosis. Material and Methods: It was an observational, retrospective and descriptive review of cases presenting with cutaneous endometriosis among Cameroonian women managed at the gynaecological outpatient department of Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital. All the following parameters were analysed: age, parity, previous pelvic surgery, presenting symptoms and duration, associated symptoms, localizations, imaging, size of the lesion, other localization of endometriosis, management and histopathological results. Results: we reported 4 cases of cutaneous endometriosis, with 3 umbilical endometriosis and 1 abdominal scar endometriosis. Patient age ranged from 28 to 39 years with an average of 33 years. All patients described infertility (two primary and two secondary) and two had a history of abdominal surgery. All patients presented local cyclical signs such as pain, swelling, color change and bleeding. The duration of symptoms varied from 2 to 3 years and the size of lesions ranged from 2 to 3.5 cm for umbilical lesions and was 9 cm for abdominal scar endometriosis. In all cases, no imaging was required for the diagnosis, which was suspected on the basis of patient’s history and the cyclical nature of local signs, followed by wide surgical excision and confirmation on histopathology. Conclusion: Cutaneaous endometriosis is a rare benign condition. Umbilical endometriosis seems to be the main cutaneous localization and can be described as primary or secondary. Even if its diagnosis must be confirmed by histopathology, it should be considered in patient with cutaneous cyclic signs such as pain, swelling or bleeding with or without history of abdominal surgery.

Assessment of Some Secondary Metabolites, Minerals and Alcohol Content of Noni Juice Obtained by Fermentation of Morinda citrifolia L. Fruit from Senegal

The fruit of Morinda citrifolia L., commonly known as noni, has an extensive history of use as a food and traditional medicine around the world. Adding value to Morinda citrifolia L. products, particularly the fruit, could be one way of building resilience in vulnerable farming households. The aim of this study was to determine the secondary metabolite and mineral composition of noni juice obtained by fermenting the fruit of Morinda citrifolia L. Fruits were collected in August 2022 from the local field in Thiès region, West of Senegal. Extraction yields were determined and the secondary metabolites were determined using conventional analytical methods. Calcium, magnesium, iron, sodium and potassium were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer coupled with a CCD detector. The results show that an average fruit mass (503.2 ± 110.96 g) consists of 171.44 ± 50.01 g pulp and 34.06 ± 10.35 g seeds. The traditional extraction yield of noni juice is 16.46% after three weeks of fermentation. The contents of total polyphenols, flavonoids and tannins obtained in noni are 608.97 ± 4.53 mg EAG/100mL, 7.78 ± 0.01 mg EQ/100mL and 0.191 ± 0.01 mg EC/100mL respectively. The ethanol content of noni varies from 3.57 to 5.23 mL/100mL during extraction. Noni has a high calcium content with a concentration of 383.79 ± 33.23 mg/L. This is followed by a good concentration of magnesium, potassium and sodium, at 278.47 ± 26.30, 187.43 ± 10.7 and 155.95 ± 28.66 mg/L respectively. Noni also has an iron content of 202.15 ± 0.05 mg/L.

The WhatsApp Application as a Teledentistry Tool in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Cameroon

Introduction: Technological advances have greatly influenced the healthcare sector. The ability to transmit information and deliver services using telecommunication tools continues to transform the way healthcare is delivered around the world. The aim of this study was to highlight the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic profile of oral and maxillofacial surgery patients consulted using the WhatsApp application. Methodology: This was a three-year descriptive study with a retrospective data collection, from 2021 to 2023, of WhatsApp communications between our team and oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Cameroon. In this study, the type/content of messages received, the epidemiological data of practitioners and patients, the various pathologies diagnosed and the procedures performed were evaluated. Results: 319 communications were received for a total of 146 cases. Written messages associated with images (photographs and/or X-rays) were the most frequently received, at 85.62%. Hospitals in urban areas were the most represented at 93.84%. Oral health professionals in the private sector sent more messages (65.75%). In terms of diagnoses, tumour and cystic pathologies were the most common (28.08%), followed by impacted/retained teeth (22.6%). Patients were referred to our hospital for treatment in 62.33% of cases. Conclusion: The WhatsApp application is an easy-to-use telecommunications tool. It facilitates exchanges between practitioners and improves patient care in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
