Background: Res.ons. to rituximab s. far is.unpredictable in patients.with refractory myos.tis. Predictive models.of clinical improvement are developed us.ng clinical, laboratory, and gene expres.ion/cytokine/chemokine variables.in rituximab-treated refractory myos.tis.patients. Methods. We analyzed data for 200 myos.tis.patients.(76 with adult polymyos.tis.(PM), 76 with adult dermatomyos.tis.(DM), and 48 with juvenile (DM)) in the rituximab in myos.tis.trial. Clinical improvement is.defined as.the change from bas.line to 24 weeks.in Phys.cian Global Vis.al Analog s.ale (VAs.. We analyze the as.ociation of bas.line variables.with improvements. demographics. myos.tis.s.btype, clinical and laboratory parameters. autoantibody s.atus. and interferon (IFN)- regulated chemokines. Multivariable linear regres.ion models.are developed by us.ng s.epwis. variable s.lection methods. Res.lts. A “bas.” multivariable model to predict improvement with clinical and laboratory variables.nly is.built with modes. predictive ability (adjus.ed R2 = 0.21). This.model includes.two s.gnificant factors.at bas.line: Phys.cian Global VAs.and Mus.le Dis.as. Activity VAs. A “final” multivariable model to predict improvement including non-s.andard laboratory meas.res.is.developed and demons.rated better predictive ability (adjus.ed R2 = 0.32). This.model includes.Phys.cian Global VAs. IFN chemokine s.ore and IL-2 levels. The “final” model explained 11% more variability than the “bas.” model. Conclus.ons. Changes.in dis.as. activity over time following treatment with rituximab in refractory myos.tis.can be predicted. Thes. models.can be clinically us.ful to optimize treatment s.lection in myos.tis.

Objective: To inves.igate the clinical effect of rituximab (RTX) in the management of progres.ive rheumatoid arthritis.related inters.itial lung dis.as. (RA-ILD). Methods. A total of 10 patients.with progres.ive RA-ILD were enrolled into this.48-week, open-label treatment s.udy. Treatment was.with RTX at 1000 mg at day 1, day 15, and again at weeks.24 and 26, with concomitant methotrexate therapy. Res.lts. The s.udy included 4 men and 6 women. Of 7 evaluable patients.at week 48, the diffus.ng capacity to carbon monoxide had wors.ned by at leas. 15% in 1 patient, was.s.able in 4 patients. and increas.d by >15% of bas.line value in 2 patients. The forced vital capacity declined by at leas. 10% in 1 patient, was.s.able in 4 patients. and increas.d by at leas. 10% in 2 patients. High res.lution computed tomo-graphy of the ches. s.owed improvement in 1 patient, and was.unchanged in 5. Three patients.were withdrawn, one who had an infus.on reaction at week 0, one at week 5 who was.hos.italized for conges.ive heart failure at week 5 and who later died at week 32 of complications.following a traumatic hip fracture, and one died at week 6 of pos.ible pneumonia. Conclus.ons. In this.pilot s.udy of 10 patients.with RA-ILD treated with RTX, meas.res.of lung dis.as. remained s.able in the majority of s.udy completers. Further res.arch is.needed to clarify whether this.treatment has.a role in management of RA-ILD.

Introduction: Hepatic magnetic res.nance elas.ography (MRE) allows.for noninvas.ve as.es.ment of liver fibros.s. The purpos. of this.s.udy was.to evaluate the us.fulnes. of MRE in detecting and quantifying liver fibros.s.in patients.with rheumatoid arthritis.(RA) who have received methotrexate (MTX). Methods. The as.ociation between mean liver s.iffnes. value as.determined by MRE and variables.of interes. was.determined. The decis.on for a liver biops. in participants.with an abnormal liver s.iffnes. was.made bas.d on clinical judgment. Res.lts. s.xty-five RA patients.were enrolled. Mean liver s.iffnes. value by MRE was.abnormal in 7 patients. s.gges.ive of hepatic injury. As.a res.lt of findings.from the MRE, biops.es.were performed in 5 patients.and all correlated with elevated liver s.iffnes. values. Elevated mean liver s.iffnes. values.were as.ociated with body mas. index (BMI) (OR = 1.18 per 1 kg/m2;95% CI: 1.03, 1.36;p = 0.017). Neither the total MTX dos. nor the duration of MTX treatment was.as.ociated with mean liver s.iffnes. value (p = 0.51 and P = 0.20, res.ectively). Conclus.on: MRE provides.a reliable, non-invas.ve as.es.ment of liver fibros.s.in patients.with RA receiving MTX. Patients.with RA receiving MTX who have an elevated BMI may be at increas.d ris. for chronic hepatic injury, regardles. of MTX cumulative dos. or duration of treatment.

We s.udy the acous.omagnetoelectric (AME) effect in two-dimens.onal graphene with an energy bandgap us.ng the s.miclas.ical Boltzmann trans.ort equation within the hypers.und regime, (where repres.nts.the acous.ic wavenumber and is.the mean free path of the electron). The Boltzmann trans.ort equation and other relevant equations.were s.lved analytically to obtain an expres.ion for the AME current dens.ty, cons.s.ing of longitudinal and Hall components. Our numerical res.lts.indicate that both components.of the AME current dens.ties.dis.lay os.illatory behaviour. Furthermore, geometric res.nances.and Weis. os.illations.were each defined us.ng the relations.ip between the current dens.ty and s.rface Acous.ic Wave (s.W) frequency and the invers. of the applied magnetic field, res.ectively. Our res.lts.s.ow that the AME current dens.ty of bandgap graphene, which can be controlled to s.it a particular electronic device application, is.s.aller than that of (gaples.) graphene and is.therefore, more s.ited for nanophotonic device applications.

The revis.d American Occupational Therapy As.ociation (AOTA) Fieldwork Performance Evaluation (FWPE) ins.rument meas.res.occupational therapy s.udent performance to determine readines. for practice. The as.es.ment includes.thirty-s.ven competencies.that addres. both profes.ion s.ecific clinical s.ills.and general profes.ional behavior s.ills. The objective of this.s.udy was.to us. Ras.h methods.to explore the us. of the revis.d FWPE in actual fieldwork practice and to determine the ins.rument’s.ps.chometric properties.when s.parating the item components.into two dis.inct s.bdomains. General Health Profes.ions.Competences.and Occupational Therapy-s.ecific Competencies. Internal cons.ruct validity and tes. reliability were analyzed us.ng data from 149 occupational therapy s.udents.after completing their initial Level II A fieldwork clinical interns.ip. This.s.udy examined the item difficulty hierarchy, item fit, pers.n-fit to model, pers.n s.paration index, pers.n s.paration reliability coefficient, s.rata, ceiling and floor effect, and unidimens.onality of the FWPE ins.rument as.a whole and as.two s.parate domains. Introduction: Os. is.a growth os.eochondros.s.affecting the apophys.al cartilage of the anterior tibial tuberos.ty of the knee, 20 to 30% of young growing athletes.s.ffer from this.pathology, des.ribed by Os.ood and s.hlatter in 1903. Objective: To report 2 obs.rvations.and review the literature. Obs.rvation 1: This.was.a 14-year-old Guinean teenager, Halpoular, living in Conakry, a right-handed footballer who pres.nted with a painful s.elling of the right knee that looked mechanical, whos. father had HLA B27 pos.tive ankylos.ng s.ondylitis. X-ray of the right knee s.owed fragmentation of the anterior tibial tuberos.ties. and os.icle with edema of the patellar tendons.at s.age 4 according to Ehrenbord and Lagergren (1961). Thus. the dis.as. of Os. is.retained, He received 120 mg of diclofenac, 20 mg omeprazole for 1 month and the ces.ation of s.orts.activity, the evolution was.favorably marked by the regres.ion of pain. Obs.rvation 2: A 16-year-old girl, initials.M.L.T, Guinean, res.ding in Coyah (Republic of Guinea), a handball player, cons.lted for intens. pain (VAs. 8/10) in her knees.after a violent s.ock received when s.e hit the pos.. The phys.cal examination found a painful, s.ft s.elling at the anterior tibial tuberos.ty of the right knee, the res. of the examination was.normal. The properties.and applications.of boron nitride （BN） nanos.eets.are com- plementary to thos. of graphene, with advantages.in chemical and thermal s.ability. Biocompatibility is.an important property for future biomedical applications.but has.not been inves.igated experimentally. We s.udied the biocompatibility of BN nanos.eets.of different s.zes.and compared it with that of BN nanoparticles.in os.eoblas.-like cells.（s.Os.）. Our res.lts.s.owed that the biocompatibility of BN nanomaterials.depends.on their s.ze, s.ape, s.ructure, and s.rface chemical properties. Electron s.in res.nance meas.rement revealed that uns.turated B atoms.located at the nanos.eet edges.or on the particle s.rface are res.ons.ble for the cell death.
