The Capsicum genus(Pepper)is a part of the Solanacae *** has b.en important in many cultures worldwide for its key nutritional components and uses as spices,medicines,ornamentals and *** population growth is associated with demand for more nutritionally valuab.e vegetab.es while contending with decreasing resources and availab.e *** conditions require increased efficiency in pepper b.eeding to deal with these imminent *** resequencing of inb.ed lines we have completed a valuab.e haplotype map(HapMap)for the pepper genome b.sed on single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP).The identified SNPs were annotated and classified b.sed on their gene annotation in the pepper draft genome sequence and phenotype of the sequenced inb.ed lines.A selection of one marker per gene model was utilized to create the PepperSNP16K array,which simultaneously genotyped 16405 SNPs,of which 90.7%were found to b. informative.A set of 84 inb.ed and hyb.id lines and a mapping population of 90 interspecific F2 individuals were utilized to validate the *** analysis of the inb.ed lines shows a distinct separation of b.ll versus chile/hot pepper types and separates them into five distinct germplasm *** interspecific population created b.tween Tab.sco(*** chile type)and P4(*** b.ocky type)produced a linkage map with 5546 markers separated into 1361 b.ns on twelve 12 linkage groups representing 1392.3 *** pub.ically availab.e genotyping platform can b. used to rapidly assess a large numb.r of markers in a reproducib.e high-throughput manner for *** a standardized tool for genetic analyses,the PepperSNP16K can b. used worldwide to share findings and analyze QTLs for important traits leading to continued improvement of pepper for *** and information on the array are availab.e through the Solanaceae Genomics Network.

Increased connectivity of hiPSC-derived neural networks in multiphase granular hydrogel scaffolds

To reflect human development,it is critical to create a sub.trate that can support long-term cell survival,differentiation,and *** are promising materials for 3D ***,a b.lk structure consisting of dense polymer networks often leads to sub.ptimal microenvironments that impedes nutrient exchange and cell-to-cell ***,granular hydrogel-b.sed scaffolds were used to support 3D human induced pluripotent stem cell(hiPSC)-derived neural networks.A custom designed 3D printed toolset was developed to extrude hyaluronic acid hydrogel through a porous nylon fab.ic to generate hydrogel *** and hydrogel granules were comb.ned using a weaker secondary gelation step,forming self-supporting cell laden *** three and seven days,granular scaffolds supported higher cell viab.lity compared to b.lk hydrogels,whereas granular scaffolds supported more neurite b.aring cells and longer neurite extensions(65.52±11.59μm)after seven days compared to b.lk hydrogels(22.90±4.70μm).Long-term(three-month)cultures of clinically relevant hiPSC-derived neural cells in granular hydrogels supported well estab.ished neuronal and astrocytic colonies and a high level of neurite extension b.th inside and b.yond the *** approach is significant as it provides a simple,rapid and efficient way to achieve a tissue-relevant granular structure within hydrogel cultures.

An attempt was made to improve the spatio-temporal resolution of the tangen- tial X-ray crystal spectrometer （XCS） on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak （EAST） b. evaluating experimentally the applicab.lity of a novel X-ray photon detection tech- nology for measuring the satellite spectra of Ar XVII with a high counting rate. High-resolution experimental data on the profiles of ion temperature and plasma rotation velocity facilitate the studies of the mechanisms underlining important physical phenomena, such as plasma heating, L-H transition and momentum transport. b.sed on silicon diode array and single-photon counting technology, a relatively small area （83.8 x 33.5 mm~） two-dimensional detector was successfully in- stalled and tested in the recent EAST campaign. X-ray photon counting rate higher than 20 MHz was ob.erved for the first time, and high quality satellite spectra were recorded for ion temperature and plasma rotation measurement, indicating that the new technology is suitab.e for the next-step high-resolution XCS on EAST, and the deployment of a detector array with a much larger X-ray sensing area is planned for b.tter plasma coverage.

Neurotrophins have b.en recognized for decades for their b.neficial effects on growth,survival,and maintenance in the central nervous system,all of which suggest potential therapeutic *** understanding and harnessing the activity of neurotrophins has proven difficult,the past several years have seen significant strides in the development of deliverab.e therapies that modulate neurotrophin activity(Shen et al.,2019;Yang et al.,2020;Xie et al.,2021).These recent studies have primarily focused on the multifunctional p75 neurotrophin receptor(p75NTR)which is upregulated in central nervous system disease and injury,thus offering a unique target for intervention.

Flexib.e b.onchoscopy is a common procedure. Training in b.onchoscopy is a complex process involving learning technical skills, understanding indications and contraindications, risks and b.nefits of the procedure, working within the team and communicating with patients. It is expected that a competent b.onchoscopist is ab.e to maneuver the scope through the anatomically complex b.onchial tree, take samples, manage the sedated patient and communicate with nursing staff. Learning the complex procedural skills in the clinical setting can b. stressful, therefore current b.onchoscopic training methodology should b.end a numb.r of learning methods including didactic lectures, web.b.sed material, high and low fidelity simulators as well as supervised apprenticeship training. Simulation-b.sed b.onchoscopy training therefore has b.en explored as a mode of training b.onchoscopy skills. In this article, the role of simulation-b.sed b.onchoscopy training is reviewed. The low fidelity and high fidelity virtual reality b.onchoscopy models are describ.d together with the evidence availab.e to support the use of simulation for b.onchoscopy training.

b.ckground： Glenohumeral internal rotation deficit （GIRD） is a risk factor for shoulder and elb.w injury in b.seb.ll players. Although this evidence forms a b.sis for recommending stretching, clinical measures of internal rotation range of motion （ROM） do not differentiate if GIRD is due to muscular, capsuloligamentous, or osseous factors. Understanding the contrib.tions of these structures to GIRD is important for the development of targeted interventions. We hypothesize that the osseous component will have the greatest relative contrib.tion to GIRD, followed b. muscle stiffness and posterior capsule thickness. Methods： Internal rotation ROM, muscle stiffness （teres minor, infraspinatus, and posterior deltoid）, posterior capsule thickness, and humeral retrotorsion were evaluated on 156 b.seb.ll players. A side-to-side difference was calculated for each variab.e. Variab.es were entered into a multivariab.e linear regression to determine the significant predictors of GIRD. Results： The regression model was statistically significant （R2 = 0.134, F（1, 156） = 24.0, p 〈 0.01） with only humeral retrotorsion difference remaining as a significant predictor （β = -0.243, t156 = -4.9, p 〈 0.01）. A greater humeral retrotorsion side-to-side difference was associated with more GIRD. Conclusion： Humeral retrotorsion accounted for 13.3% of the variance in GIRD. The stiffness of the superficial shoulder muscles and capsular thickness, as measured in this study, were not predictors of GIRD. Factors not assessed in this study, such as deeper muscle stiffness, capsule/ ligament laxity, and neuromuscular regulation of muscle stiffness may also contrib.te to GIRD. Since it is the largest contrib.tor to GIRD, causes of changes in humeral retrotorsion need to b. identified. The osseous component only accounted for 13.3% of the variance in GIRD, indicating a large contrib.tion from soft tissues factors that were not addressed in this study. We searched for long period variation in V-b.nd, It-b.nd and RXTE X-ray light curves of the High Mass X-ray b.naries （HMXb.） LS 1698 / RX J1037.5-5647, HD 110432 / 1H 1249-637 and HD 161103 / RX J1744.7-2713 in an attempt to discover orb.tally induced variation. Data were ob.ained primarily from the ASAS datab.se and were supplemented b. shorter term ob.ervations made with the 24- and 40-inch ANU telescopes and one of the rob.tic PROMPT telescopes. Fourier periodograms suggested the existence of long period variation in the V-b.nd light curves of all three HMXb., however folding the data at those periods did not reveal convincing periodic variation. At this point we cannot rule out the existence of long term V-b.nd variation for these three sources and hints of longer term variation may b. seen in the higher precision PROMPT data. Long term V-b.nd ob.ervations, on the order of several years, taken at a frequency of at least once per week and with a precision of 0.01 mag, therefore still have a chance of revealing long term variation in these three HMXb..
