Numerical Algorithm with Fourth-Order Spatial Accuracy for Solving the Time-Fractional Dual-Phase-Lagging Nanoscale Heat Conduction Equation

Nanoscale heat transfer cannot be described by the classical Fourier law due to the very small dimension,and therefore,analyzing heat transfer in nanoscale is of crucial importance for the design and operation of nano-devices and the optimization of thermal processing of ***,time-fractional dualphase-lagging(DPL)equations with temperature jump boundary conditions have showed promising for analyzing the heat conduction in *** article proposes a numerical algorithm with high spatial accuracy for solving the timefractional dual-phase-lagging nano-heat conduction equation with temperature jump boundary *** this end,we first develop a fourth-order accurate and unconditionally stable compact finite difference scheme for solving this time-fractional DPL *** then present a fast numerical solver based on the divide-and-conquer strategy for the obtained finite difference scheme in order to reduce the huge computational work and ***,the algorithm is tested by two examples to verify the accuracy of the scheme and computational *** we apply the numerical algorithm for predicting the temperature rise in a nano-scale silicon thin *** results confirm that the present difference scheme provides min{2−α,2−β}order accuracy in time and fourth-order accuracy in space,which coincides with the theoretical *** indicate that the mentioned time-fractional DPL model could be a tool for investigating the thermal analysis in a simple nanoscale semiconductor silicon device by choosing the suitable fractional order of Caputo derivative and the parameters in the model.

Abrasive Wear Resistance of Dual Phase Steels DP980 and DP600

The abrasive wear resistance of dual phase （DP） steels DP980 and DP600 was investigated by using an ASTM rubber wheel abrasion tester. At 2.40 m ·s-1 sliding speed under 19.9 N load with 180--355μm abrasive sands, the wear rates of DP980 and DP600 were 1.01 × 10^-11 and 0.86 ×10^-11 m3 · m-1 , respectively, correspond- ing to about 1.9 and 2.3 times of the relative wear resistance of normal low-carbon steel ASTM A283C. Using di- rectly water quenching from austenitic temperature, the abrasive wear resistance of DP980 samples under 19.9 N load could be improved by 1.65 times. The wear rates of DP980 and DP600 samples decreased respectively with in- creasing sliding speed and abrasive particle size and decreasing applied load. The experimental results reveal that the effect of martensite on the wear resistance not only depends on the volume fraction but also depends on the morphol- ogy, distribution and grain size.

Investigating effect of coke porosity on blast furnace performance based on multi-physical fields

Reducing coke use is an effective measure to reduce carbon emission and energy consumption in the blast furnace(BF)***,BF is a high-temperature moving bed reactor,where complex physical transformations coupled with complicated reactions *** makes it challenging to investigate the factors determining BF performance with the conventional method.A multi-physical field coupling mathematical model of BF was thus developed to describe its mass and heat transfer as well as its intrinsic ***,the proposed model was validated with the production *** coupling conditions,influences of dominating reactions on BF performance(temperature distribution,gas distribution,iron formation reaction,and direct reduction degree)were *** results indicated that coke combustion,indirect reduction,and direct reduction of iron ore mainly took place nearby the shaft tuyere,cohesive zone,and dripping zone,***,the rate of coke solution loss reaction was increased with the rising coke porosity in the cohesive *** the effect of coke porosity on the efficiency and stability of BF,the coke porosity of 0.42 was regarded as a reasonable value.

Solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)have become increasingly important in advanced lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)due to their improved safety and mechanical properties compared to organic liquid ***-linked polymers have the potential to further improve the mechanical property without trading off Li-ion *** this study,focusing on a recently developed cross-linked SPE,i.e.,the one based on poly(vinylene carbonate)-poly(ethylene oxide)cross-linked network(PVCN),we used solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)techniques to investigate the fundamental interaction between the chain segments and Li ions,as well as the lithium-ion *** utilizing homonuclear/heteronuclear correlation,CP(cross-polarization)kinetics,and spin-lattice relaxation experiments,etc.,we revealed the structural characteristics and their relations to lithium-ion *** is found that the network formation prevents poly(ethylene oxide)chains from crystallization,which could create sufficient space for segmental tumbling and Li-ion co nductio *** such,the mechanical property is greatly improved with even higher Li-ion mobilities compared to the poly(vinylene carbonate)or poly(ethylene oxide)based SPE analogues.

Vocal communication plays an important role in survival,reproduction,and animal social *** and mammals produce com-plex vocal sequence to convey context-dependent *** are conspicuous features of the behavior of most anuran species(frogs and toads),and males usually alter their calling strategies according to ecological context to improve the attractiveness/***,very few studies have focused on the variation of vocal sequence in *** the present study,we used both conventional method and network analysis to investigate the context-dependent vocal repertoire,vocal sequence,and call network structure in serrate-legged small treefrogs Kurixalus *** found that male *** modified their vocal sequence by switching to different call types and increasing repertoire size in the presence of a competitive ***,compared with before and after the playback of advertisement calls,males emited fewer advertisement calls,but more aggressive calls,encounter calls,and compound calls during the playback *** analysis revealed that the mean degree,mean closeness,and mean betweenness of the call networks significantly decreased during the playback period,which resulted in lower *** addition,the increased proportion of one-way motifs and average path length also indicated that the connectivity of the call network decreased in competitive ***,the vocal sequence of *** did not display a clear small-world network structure,regardless of *** study presents a paradigm to apply network analysis to vocal sequence in anurans and has important implications for understanding the evolution and function of sequence patterns.

Contact stress is the important cause of wear and failure of knee joint prostheses implanted in the human body during *** calculation of contact stress on joint prostheses is often inaccurate due to the deviation of joint position during *** paper proposes a correction method for contact stress based on finite element ***,the contact stress and contact radius between femoral and tibial prostheses of knee joint were calculated and analyzed by Hertz contact ***,individualized finite element models based on the individualized geometry of the joint prosthesis and individualized loading were constructed,and the finite element contact stress was *** finite element results were calibrated utilizing the Hertz contact ***tionally,this study investigated the impact of three gait patterns(normal gait,medial thrust gait,and bouncing gait)on the contact stress experienced by the tibial *** research methods and results can provide ideas for theoretical analysis and finite element simulation of prosthetic joint contact,as well as offer theoretical support and analysis methods for evaluating the lifespan of prosthetic joints.

Synergetic pathways of water-energy-carbon in ecologically vulnerable regions aiming for carbon neutrality:a case study of Shaanxi,China

Synergetic energy-water-carbon pathways are key issues to be tackled under carbon-neutral target and high-quality development worldwide,especially in ecologically vulnerable regions(EVRs).In this study,to explore the synergistic pathways in an EVR,a water-energy-carbon assessment(WECA)model was built,and the synergistic effects of water-energy-carbon were comprehensively and quantitatively analyzed under various scenarios of regional *** Province was chosen as the representative EVR,and Lower challenge(LEC)and Greater challenge(GER)scenarios of zerocarbon transition were set considering the technological maturity and regional energy *** results showed that there were limited effects under the zero-carbon transition of the entire region on reducing water withdrawals and improving the water *** the LEC scenario,the energy demand and CO2 emissions of Shaanxi in 2060 will decrease by 70.9%and 99.4%,respectively,whereas the water withdrawal and freshwater aquatic ecotoxicity potential(FAETP)will only decrease by 8.9%and 1.6%,*** could be attributed to the stronger demand for electricity in the energy demand sector caused by industrial transition *** GER scenario showed significant growth in water withdrawals(16.0%)and FAETP(36.0%)because of additional biomass *** promote the synergetic development of regional transition,EVRs should urgently promote zero-carbon technologies(especially solar and wind power technologies)between 2020 and 2060 and dry cooling technology for power generation before *** particular,a cautious attitude toward the biomass energy with carbon capture and storage technology in EVRs is strongly recommended.

Magnolol and 5-fluorouracil synergy inhibition of metastasis of cervical cancer cells by targeting PI3K/AKT/mTOR and EMT pathways

Objective: This study is designed to investigate the mode of action of the synergistic effect of 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) and magnolol against cervical ***: Network pharmacological approach was applied to predict the molecular mechanism of 5-FU combined with magnolol against cervical cancer. CCK-8 assay, colony formation assay, immunofluorescence staining, adhesion assay, wound healing mobility assay, cell migration and invasion assay and Western blot analysis were conducted to validate the results of in silico ***: Phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(AKT)/mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) signaling pathway was identified as the key pathway in silico study. The experimental results showed that 5-FU combined with magnolol strongly inhibited cervical cancer cell proliferation, induced the morphological change of HeLa cells by down-regulating the expression of a-actinin, tensin-2 and vinculin. Moreover, magnolol enhanced inhibitory effect of 5-FU on the cell adhesion, migration and invasion. The phosphorylation of AKT and PI3K and the expression of mTOR were strongly inhibited by the combination of 5-FU and magnolol. Moreover, the expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin was upregulated and the expression of Snail, Slug and vimentin was down-regulated by the 5-FU together with ***: Taken together, this study suggests that 5-FU combined with magnolol exerts a synergistic anti-cervical cancer effect by regulating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) signaling pathways.
