Effect of drying-wetting cycles on pore characteristics and mechanical properties of enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation-reinforced sea sand

Enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation(EICP)is an emanating,eco-friendly and potentially sound technique that has presented promise in various geotechnical ***,the durability and microscopic characteristics of EICP-treated specimens against the impact of drying-wetting(D-W)cycles is under-explored *** study investigates the evolution of mechanical behavior and pore charac-teristics of EICP-treated sea sand subjected to D-W *** uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)tests,synchrotron radiation micro-computed tomography(micro-CT),and three-dimensional(3D)recon-struction of CT images were performed to study the multiscale evolution characteristics of EICP-reinforced sea sand under the effect of D-W *** potential correlations between microstructure characteristics and macro-mechanical property deterioration were investigated using gray relational analysis(GRA).Results showed that the UCS of EICP-treated specimens decreases by 63.7% after 15 D-W *** proportion of mesopores gradually decreases whereas the proportion of macropores in-creases due to the exfoliated calcium carbonate with increasing number of D-W *** micro-structure in EICP-reinforced sea sand was gradually disintegrated,resulting in increasing pore size and development of pore shape from ellipsoidal to columnar and *** gray relational degree suggested that the weight loss rate and UCS deterioration were attributed to the development of branched pores with a size of 100-1000 m m under the action of D-W ***,the results in this study provide a useful guidancee for the long-term stability and evolution characteristics of EICP-reinforced sea sand under D-W weathering conditions.

Analysis of Solutions of the Holling-Tanner Model

In this paper we consider a kind of predator-prey model named Holling-Tanner model. Firstly, we prove all solutions of this model to be bounded from above. Secondly, we find a positive invariant set of the model, and prove the existence of stable limit cycle in this invariant set by Poincar′e-Bendixson theorem for the unstable equilibrium. Thirdly, we get the region of parameters in which the corresponding stable equilibrium are also globally asymptotically stable. Lastly, we give a bifurcation diagram and illustration with two limit cycles for special parameters through numerical simulation. By our knowledge, the invariant set constructed in this paper is better than that in the book written by Murray.

A Comprehensive Study on the Consequences of Gap-Graded Sands Considering the Loss of Fine Particles

Water and sand leakage disasters are likely to occur during construction in water-rich sand layer areas,resulting in ground *** stress-strain action characteristics of discontinuous graded sand under different internal erosion degrees,and the evolution mechanism of water and sand leakage disasters caused by the internal erosion need to be further ***,this paper takes the discontinuous graded sand in a water rich sand layer area in Nanchang City of China as the research *** the influence of different fine particle losses(0,10%,20%and 30%)under the internal erosion of sand,the salt solution method is used to realize the specified loss of fine particles in the internal *** stress-strain behavior after the loss of fine particles due to internal erosion is studied by triaxial shear ***,the physical model test and PFC-CFD method are both used to study the evolution rules of water and sand leakage disaster considered the influence of internal erosion *** show that:(1)under the same confining pressure,the peak failure strength of sand samples decreases along with the increase of fine particle loss.(2)In the water and sand leakage test of saturated sand,a natural filter channel is formed above the observed soil *** greater the loss of fine particles,the steeper and wider the collapse settlement area.(3)The relationship between the cumulative amount of water and sand leakage and time is *** total mass loss of sand increases along with the increase of internal erosion degree.(4)After the soil arch is formed around the damaged opening,the sand continues to converge above the soil arch under the action of water flow,resulting in the dense convergence of contact force chains.

The widespread availability of digital multimedia data has led to a new challenge in digital *** source camera identification algorithms usually rely on various traces in the capturing ***,these traces have become increasingly difficult to extract due to wide availability of various image processing *** Neural Networks(CNN)-based algorithms have demonstrated good discriminative capabilities for different brands and even different models of camera ***,their performances is not ideal in case of distinguishing between individual devices of the same model,because cameras of the same model typically use the same optical lens,image sensor,and image processing algorithms,that result in minimal overall *** this paper,we propose a camera forensics algorithm based on multi-scale feature fusion to address these *** proposed algorithm extracts different local features from feature maps of different scales and then fuses them to obtain a comprehensive feature *** representation is then fed into a subsequent camera fingerprint classification *** upon the Swin-T network,we utilize Transformer Blocks and Graph Convolutional Network(GCN)modules to fuse multi-scale features from different stages of the backbone ***,we conduct experiments on established datasets to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Cancer,a complex and multifactorial disease,presents a significant challenge to global *** significant advances in surgical,radiotherapeutic and immunological approaches,which have improved cancer treatment outcomes,drug therapy continues to serve as a key therapeutic ***,the clinical efficacy of drug therapy is often constrained by drug resistance and severe toxic side effects,and thus there remains a critical need to develop novel cancer *** promising strategy that has received widespread attention in recent years is drug repurposing:the identification of new applications for existing,clinically approved *** repurposing possesses several inherent advantages in the context of cancer treatment since repurposed drugs are typically cost-effective,proven to be safe,and can significantly expedite the drug development process due to their already established safety *** light of this,the present review offers a comprehensive overview of the various methods employed in drug repurposing,specifically focusing on the repurposing of drugs to treat *** describe the antitumor properties of candidate drugs,and discuss in detail how they target both the hallmarks of cancer in tumor cells and the surrounding tumor *** addition,we examine the innovative strategy of integrating drug repurposing with nanotechnology to enhance topical drug *** also emphasize the critical role that repurposed drugs can play when used as part of a combination therapy *** conclude,we outline the challenges associated with repurposing drugs and consider the future prospects of these repurposed drugs transitioning into clinical application.

Double Pulmonary Embolism and Left Common Iliac Vein Thrombosis after in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer： a Case Report

This article discusses the mechanism, diagnosis, and treatment of a case of double pulmonary embolism and left common iliac vein thrombosis following in vitro fertilization （IVF） and embryo transfer （ET） to arouse vigilance for unexpected thrombosis after ovarian hyperstimulation and to serve as a clinical reference of this condition. This paper reports the case of a woman with double pulmonary embolism and left common iliac vein thrombosis after IVF-ET and the successful management of this condition. The woman had primary infertility, and underwent IVF-ET with 14 ooeytes recovered and two embryos transferred. The patient suffered breathing difficulty 17 days after the ET, and was hospitalized 6 days later as her condition had exacerbated. Computed tomographic （CT） angiography of pulmonary arteries showed double pulmonary embolism, left common iliae vein thrombosis, abnormal density shadow in uterine appendages, and ascites. A healthy baby boy and girl were safely delivered by Caesarean section after successful treatment. Thrombosis after IVF-ET is an uncommon but life-threatening complication and concurrent pulmonary embolism is even rarer. It is suggested that careful thrombosis risk assessment be taken before therapy and particular attention be paid to patients with special body constitutions to develop thrombosis. Whenever patients experience breathing difficulty after IVF-ET, it is strongly advised to examine the possibility of pulmonary embolism. The main treatments for thrombosis are anticoagulant therapy by low-molecular-weight heparin and thrombolysis by urokinase.

China’s Disease Control and Prevention(DCP)system has played a critical role in protecting population health and ensuring socioeconomic stability(1).Over the past two decades,China has made significant advancements in disease surveillance,response,and control,particularly following the 2003 severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)outbreak and the 2009 national healthcare reforms(2–3).These initiatives have substantially strengthened the national DCP system and led to improved public health outcomes,including the effective control of outbreaks such as avian influenza and coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Consequently,the incidence of major epidemics has declined markedly(1).

Single-atom alloys(SAAs)have gained significant attention due to their remarkable atomic utilization efficiency,interactions between single atoms(SAs)and metal supports,and free-atom-like electronic structure of dopant *** this work,we observed the formation of SAs in pre-deposited metal particles by a two-step thermal evaporation technique,thereby establishing the first instance of discovering SAAs by thermal *** discovery of SAAs by thermal evaporation extends the range of SAAs preparation methods to include this traditional synthetic technique,which offers convenience,cost-efficiency,and *** formation mechanism of SAAs prepared using this technique was elucidated by density functional theory *** was demonstrated that thermal evaporation can be utilized to prepare SAAs with multiple SAs,further highlighting its universal applicability.
