In a recent Cancer Discovery publication,Bianchi et *** a crucial mechanism driving therapeutic resistance in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),orchestrated by cell-autonomous Cxcl1 and TNF from polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells(PMN-MDSCs).This insight provides fresh perspectives for surmounting such resistance in PDAC.1 PDAC represents a highly aggressive malignancy exhibiting substantial therapeutic resistance,attributable to factors such as intractable genomic aberrations,immunosuppression mediated by myeloid cells,and pro-inflammatory activation of cancerassociated fibroblasts.

The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its adjacent mountainous areas are characterized by signifcant climate diferences,diverse geomorphology,active glaciers,and strong crustal uplift and river *** complex natural environment has led to a variety of natural hazards and disasters,including earthquakes,rock/glacier falls,landslides,debris fows,fash foods,snow avalanches,and thaw *** hazards coexist,overlap,and interact,creating complex chains of disasters and cascading and compound events,and imposing great threat to the local people and socioeconomic *** change is altering the cycles of water,energy,and mass on the Qinghai-Tibet *** is of paramount importance to understand the dynamics of these processes and their impacts on the exposed population and socioeconomic systems under climate change.

Inspired by the phenomenon of superhydrophobic plants and animals in nature,1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocane(HMX)@copper stearate(CS)core-shell composites with similar properties was prepared.A rough shell layer on the surface of the HMX was observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and a series of in-depth characterization confirmed the successful generation of CS and the coreshell structure of the *** scanning calorimeter(DSC)proves that the crystal transition temperature(204℃)and high temperature decomposition exothermal temperature(284℃)of HMX@CS is almost unchanged compared with pure HMX,which means HMX and CS have good ***,the H50 of the samples also increased continuously(16.6 cm→33.7 cm)when the CS shell content increased from 1%to 5%,indicating that the CS shell has a certain buffering performance,and CS will absorb some heat and melt under the stimulation of impact due to its low melting point,which improved impact sensitivity of HMX effectively ***,HMX@CS has excellent hydrophobic and oleophilic performance,shows excellent wettability with lipid binder,and samples with appropriate CS shell content can continue to combustion stably after covering *** waterproof and low sensitivity coating provides a new way for the development of multifunctional energetic materials.

AIM: To investigate the associations between demographic and clinical factors with the rate of visual field mean derivation(MD) decline in retinitis pigmentosa(RP) ***: Correlations of MDs with the visual acuity and retinal pigmentation were analyzed in 928 RP patients. MD decreasing rate in 10 y and potential influences of gender, age, family history and retinal pigmentation on the rate were explored in 201 RP patients. RESULTS: In the 928 patients, average MD and visual acuity were-14.44±8.61 dB and 0.79±0.35 respectively and when MD was lower than-9.18 dB the visual acuity would be below 1.0(20/20). The average MD medium between eyes with or without retinal pigmentation was-14.82 dB. In 123 non-pigmented eyes, the average MD were lower than the medium but in 153 pigmented eyes it was higher than that. In the 201 patients, the average decreasing value of MD in 10 years’ period was-8.01±3.66 dB and the value were correlated to retinal pigmentation but not to gender, age or RP family history. CONCLUSION: The rate of MD decline in RP eyes is significantly related to retinal pigmentation. Our study demonstrates the quantitative rate of MD decline in RP patients and the value of MD could well reflect the severity of RP.

Hybrid Precoder and Combiner Design with Finite Resolution PSs for mmWave MIMO Systems

Hybrid precoding and combining have been considered as a promising technology, which can provide a compromise between hardware complexity and system performance in millimeter wave multiple-input multiple-output systems. However, most existing hybrid precoder and combiner designs generally assume that infinite resolution phase shifters(PSs) are used to produce the analog beamformers. In a practical scene, the design with accurate PSs can lead to high hardware cost and power consumption. In this paper, we investigate the hybrid precoder and combiner design with finite resolution PSs in millimeter wave systems. We employ alternate optimization as the main strategy to jointly design analog precoder and combiner. In addition, we propose a low complexity algorithm, where the analog beamformers are implemented only by finite resolution PSs to maximize spectral efficiency. Then, the digital precoder and combiner are designed based on the obtained analog beamformers to improve the spectral efficiency. Finally, simulation results and mathematical analysis show that the proposed algorithm with low-resolution PSs can achieve near-optimal performance and have low complexity.

In this paper, we analyze the well-posedness of an image segmentation model. The main idea of that segmentation model is to minimize one energy functional by evolving a given piecewise constant image towards the image to be segmented. The evolution is controlled by a serial of mappings, which can be represented by B-spline basis functions. The evolution terminates when the energy is below a given threshold. We prove that the correspondence between two images in the segmentation model is an injective and surjective mapping under appropriate conditions. We further prove that the solution of the segmentation model exists using the direct method in the calculus of variations. These results provide the theoretical support for that segmentation model.

Laser Surface Remelting of Fe-based Alloy Coating Deposited by APS

The Fe-based amorphous alloy coatings with different porosities were deposited on Q235 steel substrates by means of atmospheric plasma spraying(APS).The as-sprayed coatings were remelted by the facility of a Nd:YAG laser to further enhance their compactness and bonding strength via orthogonal experiment *** effects of laser remelting on the microstructure,phase compositions and mechanical properties of the as-sprayed coatings were investigated by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscope,X-ray diffraction and Vickers microhardness *** corrosion performance of the coatings was evaluated by both potential dynamic measurements(PDM)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)in a 10%NaOH *** results indicate that laser power of 700 W,scanning velocity of 4 mm/s,beam size of 3 mm and porosity of 1.19%are the optimized remelting process *** laser-remelted coatings exhibite more homogenous structure as strong metallurgical bonding to *** amorphous phases in the as-sprayed coatings crystallize toα-Fe,Fe2Si,Fe3.5B,and Fe2W phases for the high temperature and rapid solidification in the remelting *** microhardness values of as-sprayed are in the range of 700-800 HV0.1,while the microhardness values of the remelted coatings are enhanced slightly to 750-850 *** PDM and EIS analysis results show that the remelted coatings exhibite relatively excellent corrosion resistance compared with the stainless steel 1Cr18Ni9Ti,however the corrosion resistance of the remelted coatings is inferior to the as-sprayed amorphous coatings.

Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(NMF)is one of the most popular feature learning technologies in the field of machine learning and pattern *** has been widely used and studied in the multi-view clustering tasks because of its *** study proposes a general semi-supervised multi-view nonnegative matrix factorization *** algorithm incorporates discriminative and geometric information on data to learn a better-fused representation,and adopts a feature normalizing strategy to align the different *** specific implementations of this algorithm are developed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework:Graph regularization based Discriminatively Constrained Multi-View Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(GDCMVNMF)and Extended Multi-View Constrained Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(ExMVCNMF).The intrinsic connection between these two specific implementations is discussed,and the optimization based on multiply update rules is *** on six datasets show that the effectiveness of GDCMVNMF and ExMVCNMF outperforms several representative unsupervised and semi-supervised multi-view NMF approaches.

Reconstruction of cranial defect is commonly performed in neurosurgical operations. Many materials have been employed for repairing cranial defects. In this paper, materials used for cranioplasty, including autografts, allografts, and synthetic biomaterials are comprehensively reviewed. This paper also gives future perspective of the materials and development trend of manufacturing process for cranioplasty implants.
