A method to predict cooling load of large commercial buildings based on weather forecast and internal occupancy

Considering the fact that customers of large commercial buildings have the characteristics of the higher density and randomness, this paper presented an air- conditioning cooling load prediction method based on weather forecast and internal occupancy density. The multiple linear feedback regression model was applied to predict, with precision, the air conditioning cooling load. Case analysis showed that the largest mean relative error of hourly and the daily predicting cooling load maximum were 18.1% and 5.14%, respectively.

In this study,systematic centrifuge experiments and numerical studies are conducted to investigate the effect of shock loads due to an underwater explosion on the dynamic responses of an air-backed steel *** simulations with three different models of pressure time history generated by underwater explosion were carried *** first model of pressure time history was measured in *** second model to predict the time history of shock wave pressure from an underwater explosion was created by Cole in *** of Cole's formulas are determined *** third model was developed by Zamyshlyaev and Yakovlev in *** of them are implemented into the numerical model to calculate the shock responses of the *** peak strains obtained from the three models are compared with the experimental results,yielding average relative differences of 21.39%,45.73%,and 13.92%,*** Russell error technique is used to quantitatively analyze the correlation between the numerical and experimental *** analysis shows that the simulated strains for most measurement points on the steel plate are *** changing the scaled distances,different shock impulses were obtained and exerted on the steel *** numerical studies are performed to investigate the effect of the accumulated shock impulse on the peak *** numerical and experimental results suggest that the peak strains are strongly dependent on the accumulated shock impulse.

CO_(2) can be used as an alternative injectant to exploit geothermal energy from depleted high-temperature gas reservoirs due to its high mobility and unique thermal ***,there has been a lack of systematic analysis on the heat mining mechanism and performance of CO_(2),as well as the problems that may occur during geothermal energy exploitation at specific gas reservoir *** this paper,a base numerical simulation model of a typical depleted high-temperature gas reservoir was established to simulate the geothermal energy exploitation processes via recycling CO_(2) and water,with a view to investigate whether and/or at which conditions CO_(2) is more suitable than water for geothermal energy *** problems that may occur during the CO_(2)-based geothermal energy exploitation were also analyzed along with proposed feasible *** results indicate that,for a depleted low-permeability gas reservoir with dimensions of 1000 m×500 m×50 m and temperature of 150℃ using a single injection-production well group for 40 years of operation,the heat mining rate of CO_(2) can be up to 3.8 MW at a circulation flow rate of 18 kg s^(-1)due to its high mobility along with the flow path in the gas reservoir,while the heat mining rate of water is only about 2 MW due to limitations on the injectivity and *** reservoir physical property and injection-production scheme have some effects on the heat mining rate,but CO_(2)always has better performance than water at most reservoir and operation conditions,even under a high water *** main problems for CO_(2) circulation are wellbore corrosion and salt precipitation that can occur when the reservoir has high water saturation and high salinity,in which serious salt precipitation can reduce formation permeability and result in a decline of CO_(2) heat mining rate (*** to 24%reduction).It is proposed to apply a low-salinity water slug before CO_(2)injection to reduce the damage caused

As a new generation of Zn-ion storage systems,Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSCs)garner tremendous interests recently from researchers due to the perfect integration of batteries and *** have excellent integration of high energy density and power density,which seamlessly bridges the gap between batteries and supercapacitors,becoming one of the most viable future options for large-scale equipment and portable electronic ***,the currently reported two configurations of ZHSCs and corresponding energy storage mechanisms still lack systematic ***,this review will be prudently organized from the perspectives of design strategies,electrode configurations,energy storage mechanisms,recent advances in electrode materials,electrolyte behaviors and further applications(micro or flexible devices)of *** synthesis processes and electrochemical properties of well-designed Zn anodes,capacitor-type electrodes and novel Zn-ion battery-type cathodes are comprehensively ***,a brief summary and outlook for the further development of ZHSCs are presented as *** review will provide timely access for researchers to the recent works regarding ZHSCs.

Because of profound applications of two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))and its heterostructures in electronics,its thermal stability has been spurred substantial *** employ a precision muffle furnace at a series of increasing temperatures up to 340℃to study the oxidation behavior of continuous MoS_(2)films by either directly growing mono-and fewlayer MoS_(2)on SiO_(2)/Si substrate,or by mechanically transferring monolayer MoS_(2)or hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)onto monolayer MoS_(2)*** show that monolayer MoS_(2)can withstand high temperature at 340℃with less oxidation while the few-layer MoS_(2)films are completely oxidized just at 280℃,resulting from the growth-induced tensile strain in few-layer MoS_(2).When the tensile strain of films is released by transfer method,the stacked few-layer MoS_(2)films exhibit superior thermal stability and typical layer-by-layer oxidation behavior at similarly high ***,for the MoS_(2)/h-BN heterostructure,the h-BN film itself stacked on top is not damaged and forms many bubbles at 340℃,whereas the underlying monolayer MoS_(2)film is oxidized *** comprehensively using various experimental characterization and molecular dynamics calculations,such anomalous oxidation behavior of MoS_(2)/h-BN heterostructure is mainly due to the increased tensile strain in MoS_(2)film at elevated temperature.

Paleoclimatic indication of X-ray fluorescence core-scanned Rb/Sr ratios: A case study in the Zoige Basin in the eastern Tibetan Plateau

The X-ray fluorescence(XRF)core-scanned Rb/Sr ratios of lake sediments have been widely used as a proxy for chemical weathering intensity and past climate ***,some factors could affect Rb/Sr ratios,causing misinterpretation and limiting its *** this study,we present a high-resolution XRF core-scanned Rb/Sr record of core ZB13-C1 from the Zoige Basin in the eastern Tibetan *** validate its application,we correlated this record with the chemical index of alteration(CIA)and other paleoclimatic *** results showed that(1)the core-scanned Rb/Sr ratios and CIA were reliable proxies of chemical weathering intensity in fine-grained sedimentary sequences;(2)the low values of corescanned Rb/Sr ratios and CIA were significantly correlated with high total organic carbon content,arboreal pollen content,carbonate content,and C/N ratios,confirming its reliability as a proxy for the Asian summer monsoon intensity;(3)the corescanned Rb/Sr ratios at core depths of 25–0.3 and 56–47 m were unable to reliably reflect chemical weathering intensity due to both the grain-size effect and the low test *** study highlights the need for mutual verification of multiple indicators before accurately applying Rb/Sr as a paleoclimatic proxy in other similar study areas.

We present a novel anisotropic and nonlinear metasurface integrated with multiple functions of diffuse scattering, beam splitting, and normal reflection, which can be switched in real time by tuning the polarization state or power level of the incident microwave. The key lies in the two judiciously designed anisotropic nonlinear particles in subwavelength scales that possess opposite reflection phases under one polarization and the same nonlinear power-dependent reflection phases under the orthogonal polarization. These properties are demonstrated comprehensively via comparisons between their reflection responses, receiving abilities, and nonlinear circuitry behaviors. In addition, both the spatial arrangement and the electrically enabling strategy of the particles are underpinned to pursue the proposed functions, which are verified through numerical simulations and measurements. When the metasurface is illuminated by plane waves coming from the direction perpendicular to it, a significant beam splitting effect is achieved with strong x-polarized incidence,which is switched to a specular reflection when the incoming power decreases. Under y-polarization,a diffuse scattering phenomenon is obtained, which is not dependent on the incident intensity. The study is expected to offer new solutions to many electromagnetic scenarios involving energy transmissions and protections.

Lewis base catalyzed and Brønsted acid controlled chemodivergent electrophilic selenofunctionalizations of alkynes were developed for the first *** selenium-containing tetrasubstituted alkenes were readily obtained in moderate to excellent yields with complete E/Z *** the substrates were 1-ethynyl naphthol derivatives,linear selenium-containing tetrasubstituted alkenes were produced via intermolecular oxygen nucleophilic attack in the absence of acid additive;in contrast,cyclic selenium-containing tetrasubstituted alkenes were generated through intramolecular carbon nucleophilic capture with the addition of Brønsted acid.
