Background： During sperm maturation, there is a reorganization of fatty acids from plasmatic membrane of the spermatozoa, which allows higher membrane integrity and acquisition of sperm motility. However, the fatty acid profile during sperm maturation remains unclear in dogs. Thus, the aim of this study was to identify the fatty acids from the epididymal spermatozoa and plasma during the sperm maturation, and observed changes in the motility and plasmatic membrane parameters. Twenty one adult dogs were used, subsequently to bilateral orchiectomy and epididymal storage, sperm samples were collected from the different segments of the epididymis. Samples were evaluated for conventional microscopy, computer-assisted motility analysis, sperm plasma membrane permeability and the fatty acid analysis（lipids were extracted, transmethylated and analyzed by chromatography）.Results： Caput and corpus sperm showed lower values for the motility variables evaluated and plasmatic membrane integrity, indicating different levels of the fatty acids organization. Saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids were in higher concentrations in the spermatozoa from epididymis cauda. Highlighting the presence of caprylic, stearic and docosahexaenoic ***： These findings demonstrate the influence of the fatty acid profile during sperm maturation, assigning physical and chemical changes in sperm cells, essential for fertilization.

We present a new approach for calculating the C-factor of RUSLE considering the effect of low-reflectance vegetation cover areas on the reduction of the effects on erosion caused by rainfall *** this,we propose the coefficients Cr2(rescaled 2)and C-PC(Precipitation Correction),which represent the Cfactor,and an adaptation in NDVI calculation,according to the seasonality of precipitation(NDVI-PC).The Cr2 factor is used when there is no seasonal effect of rainfall on vegetation,while the C-PC factor is calculated for localities under the influence of seasonality,from *** proposed approaches were tested using different satellites images in the Palmares-Ribeir~ao do Saco watershed,Rio de Janeiro,*** values of Cr2 and C-PC factors were compared to the Cr factor(rescaled)and to mean values from the literature for different land *** results indicated that the Cr2 factor represents an improvement in accuracy in relation to Cr by considering specific values of the studied area to normalize the data without ***,the C-PC factor is able to simulate the effect of seasonality,providing more realistics values of soil loss by the RUSLE as a function of the proportion of area affected by the rainfall seasonality obtained from *** conclude that both Cr2 and C-PC factors generate values similar of the C-factor observed in the literature,and therefore are able to provide better soil loss estimation than that using the Cr factor.

AIM:To investigate the prognostic role of invariant natural killer T(iNKT) cells and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity(ADCC) in wild type KRAS metastatic colorectal cancer(mC RC) patients treated with ***: forty-one KRAS wt mC RC patients,treated with cetuximab and irinotecan-based chemotherapy in Ⅱ and Ⅲ lines were analyzed. Genotyping of single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)s in the fCGR2A,fCGR3A and in the 3' untranslated regions of KRAS and mutational analysis for KRAS,BRAf and NRAS genes was determined either by sequencing or allelic discrimination assays. Enriched NK cells were obtained from lymphoprepperipheral blood mononuclear cell and iN KT cells were defined by co-expression of CD3,TCRVα24,TCRVβ11. ADCC was evaluated as ex vivo NK-dependent activity,measuring lactate dehydrogenase ***: At basal,mCRC patients performing ADCC activity above the median level(71%) showed an improved overall survival(OS) compared to patients with ADCC below(median 16 vs 8 mo;P=0.026). We did not find any significant correlation of iN KT cells with OS(P=0.19),albeit we observed a trend to a longer survival after 10 mo in patients with iN KT above median basal level(0.382 cells/microliter). Correlation of OS and progression-free survival(PfS) with interesting SNPs involved in ADCC ability revealed not to be significant. Patients carrying alleles both with A in fCGR2 A and TT in fCGR3A presented a trend of longer PfS(median 9 vs 5 mo;P=0.064). Chemotherapy impacted both iN KT cells and ADCC activity. Their prognostic values get lost when we analysed them after 2 and 4 mo of ***: Our results suggest a link between iN KT cells,basal ADCC activity,genotypes in fCGR2A and fCGR3A,and efficacy of cetuximab in KRAS wt mC RC patients.

Purpose:This meta-analytical study aimed to explore the effects of resistance training(RT) volume on body adiposity,metabolic risk,and inflammation in postmenopausal and older ***:A systematic search was performed for randomized controlled trials in PubMed,Scopus,Web of Science,and *** controlled trials with postmenopausal and older females that compared RT effects on body adiposity,metabolic risk,and inflammation with a control group(CG) were *** reviewers selected the studies,extracted the data,and performed the risk of bias and certainty of the evidence(Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)) *** body and abdominal adiposity,blood lipids,glucose,and C-reactive protein were included for meta-analysis.A random-effects model,standardized mean difference(Hedges’ g),and 95% confidence interval(95%CI) were used for ***:Twenty randomized controlled trials(overall risk of bias:some concerns;GRADE:low to very low) with overweight/obese postmenopausal and older females were *** groups were divided into low-volume RT(LVRT,~44 sets/week) and high-volume RT(HVRT,~77 sets/week).Both RT groups presented improved body adiposity,metabolic risk,and inflammation when compared to ***,HVRT demonstrated higher effect sizes than LVRT for glucose(HVRT=-1.19;95%CI:-1.63 to-0.74;LVRT=-0.78;95%CI:-1.15 to-0.41) and C-reactive protein(HVRT=-1.00;95%CI:-1.32 to-0.67;LVRT=-0.34;95%CI,-0.63 to-0.04)) when compared to ***:Compared to CG,HVRT protocols elicit greater improvements in metabolic risk and inflammation outcomes than LVRT in overweight/obese postmenopausal and older females.

Recent results on radiative K^± decays from the NA48/2 experiment are reported. from the full NA48/2 data set, about a million K^±→π^±π^γ decays were reconstructed. Based on this sample, the first measurement of the interference between direct photon emission and inner bremsstrahlung in K^±→π^±π^γ decays was performed. Stringent limits on CP violation in this decay were also set. In addition, a precise measurement of the branching fraction of K^±→π^±γγ is presented. This measurement was based on a data sample of more than 1000 event candidates. Also the related decay K^±→π^±e^＋e^-γ has first been observed. Results of the measurement of the decay rate and the decay parameter 5 are summarized.

The involvement of aquaporins(AQPs)in the development of diseases has been widely described(Azad et al.,2021).AQP5 has been described in astrocytes changing after traumatic brain injuries(Chai et al.,2013),but the precise role of AQP5 in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)pathology is yet to be *** have recently reported that AQP5 expression changes during the development of AD(Antequera et al.,2022).The AQP5 expression in salivary glands is decreased in 6-month-old APP/PS1 mice and AD *** decrease in AQP5 expression could be involved in the mechanism of salivary gland dysfunction described in a previous study(Antequera et al.,2021).Now,we propose a new indirect role of AQP5 in the connection between infection-induced oral dysbiosis and AD(Sureda et al.,2020).Here,we suggest that the proinflammatory response induced by oral pathogen infection results in the downregulation of AQP5 contributing to the salivary gland secretory *** these alterations destabilize the peripheral immune-inflammatory balance and exacerbate neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration leading to AD pathology.

In recent years,hard carbon materials have gained significant interest as anode materials for Na-ion *** waste is considered one of the most interesting,renewable,available,and cost-effective precursor to obtain hard carbon(HC);however,HC properties must be finely tuned to achieve performance comparable to those provided by Li-ion *** this work,three biomass wastes(coconut shells,walnut shells,and corn silk) were evaluated as potential precursors for HC preparation involving a pyrolysis process and subsequent acid washing to remove the inorganic *** obtained materials exhibited low and similar specific surface areas(fferent structures and surface *** walnut shell HC possessed a lower amount of inorganic impurities and oxygen-based functional groups compared to the coconut shell and corn silk HCs,leading to higher initial coulombic efficiency(iCE).The structural organization was higher in the case of the walnut shell HC,while the corn silk HC revealed a heterogeneous structure combining both highly disordered carbon and localized graphitized *** HCs delivered high initial reversible capacities between 293 and 315 mAh g^(-1) at 50 mA g^(-1) current rate,which remained rather stable during long-term *** best capacity(293 mAh g^(-1) after 100 charge/discharge cycles) and highest capacity retention(93%) was achieved in walnut HCs in half-cells,which could be associated with its higher sp2 C content,better organized structure,and fewer *** "adsorption-insertion" Na storage mechanism is suggested based on several *** walnut HCs exhibited an attractive energy density of 279 Wh/kg when tested in full cells.
