We present major and trace element compositions of mineral concentrates comprising garnet xenocrysts,ilmenite,phlogopite,spinel,zircon,and uncommon minerals(titanite,calzirtite,anatase,baddeleyite and pyrochlore)of a newly discovered Late Cretaceous kimberlite(U-Pb zircon age 90.0±1.3 Ma;2σ)named Osvaldo Franca 1,located in the Alto Paranaíba Igneous Province(APIP),southeastern *** grains are lherzolitic(Lherz-1,Lherz-2 and Lherz-3),harzburgitic(Harz-3)and wehrlitic(Wehr-2).The pyrope xenocrysts cover a wide mantle column in the subcratonic lithosphere(66–143 km;20–43 kbar)at relatively low temperatures(811–875°C).The shallowest part of this mantle is represented by Lherz-1 pyropes(20–32 kbar),which have low-Cr(Cr_(2)O_(3)=1.74–6.89 wt.%)and fractionated middle to heavy rare earth elements(MREE-HREE)*** deepest samples are represented by Lherz-2,Lherz-3,Harz-3,and Wehr-2 pyropes(36–43 kbar).They contain high-Cr contents(Cr_(2)O_(3)=7.36–11.19 wt.%)and are characterized by sinusoidal(Lherz-2 and Wehr-2)and spoon-like(Lherz-3 and Harz-3)REE *** to their REE and trace elements,pyrope xenocrysts have enriched nature(e.g.,Ce and Yb ***_(2)O_(3)),indicating that the cratonic lithosphere has been affected by a silicate melt with subalkaline/tholeiite composition due to their low Zr,Ti and Y *** minerals with typical kimberlitic signatures,such as ilmenite and zircon,the exotic compositions of phlogopite and ulvöspinel suggest an enriched component in the magma *** formation of rare mineral phases with strong enrichment of light-REE(LREE)and high field strength elements(HFSE)is attributed to the late-stage kimberlitic *** propose a tectonic model where a thermal anomaly,represented by the low-velocity seismic anomaly observed in P-wave seismic tomography images,supplied heat to activate the alkaline magmatism from a metasomatized cratonic mantle source during the late-stages of Gondwana fragmentation and conse

Despite representing one of the largest cratons on Earth,the early geological evolution of the Amazonia Craton remains poorly known due to relatively poor exposure and because younger metamorphic and tectonic events have obscured initial *** this study,we investigated the sedimentary archives of the Carajás Basin to unravel the early geological evolution of the southeastern Amazonia *** Carajás Basin contains sedimentary rocks that were deposited throughout a long period spanning more than one billion years from the Mesoarchean to the *** oldest archives preserved in this basin consist of a few ca.3.6 Ga detrital zircon grains showing that the geological roots of the Amazonia Craton were already formed by the *** the Paleoarchean or the early Mesoarchean(<3.1 Ga),the Carajás Basin was large and rigid enough to sustain the formation and preservation of the Rio Novo Group greenstone ***,during the Neoarchean,at ca.2.7 Ga,the southeastern Amazonia Craton witnessed the emplacement of the Parauapebas Large Igneous Province(LIP)that probably covered a large part of the craton and was associated with the deposition of some of the world largest iron *** emplacement of this LIP immediately preceded a period of continental extension that formed a rift infilled first by iron formations followed by terrigenous *** major change of sedimentary regime might have been controlled by the regional tectonic evolution of the Amazonia Craton and its emergence above *** the Paleoproterozoic,at ca.2.1 Ga,the Rio Fresco Group,consisting of terrigenous sediments from the interior of the Amazonia Craton,was deposited in the Carajás *** that time,the Amazonian lithosphere could have either underwent thermal subsidence forming a large intracratonic basin or could have been deformed by long wavelength flexures that induced the formation of basins and swells throughout the craton under the influence of

Numerical modeling of failure mechanisms in phyllite mine slopes in Brazil

This paper presents three case studies comprising failure mechanisms in phyllite mine slopes at Quadrila- tero Ferrifero, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Numerical modeling techniques were used in this study. Fail- ure mechanisms involving discontinuities sub parallel to the main foliation are very common in these mines. Besides, failure through the rock material has also been observed due to the low strength of phyl- lites in this site. Results of this work permitted to establish unknown geotechnical parameters which have significant influence in failure processes, like the in situ stress field and the discontinuity stiffness.

The pseudogenes of eukaryotic translation elongation factors (EEFs): Role in cancer and other human diseases

The eukaryotic translation elongation factors (EEFs), i.e. EEF1A1, EEF1A2, EEF1B2, EEF1D, EEF1G, EEF1E1 and EEF2, are coding-genes that play a central role in the elongation step of translation but are often altered in cancer. Less investigated are their pseudogenes. Recently, it was demonstrated that pseudogenes have a key regulatory role in the cell, especially via non-coding RNAs, and that the aberrant expression of ncRNAs has an important role in cancer development and progression. The present review paper, for the first time, collects all that published about the EEFs pseudogenes to create a base for future investigations. For most of them, the studies are in their infancy, while for others the studies suggest their involvement in normal cell physiology but also in various human diseases. However, more investigations are needed to understand their functions in both normal and cancer cells and to define which can be useful biomarkers or therapeutic targets.

Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction: Managing the patient with chronic biliary pain

Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction （SOD） is a syndrome of chronic biliary pain or recurrent pancreatitis due to functional obstruction of pancreaticobiliary flow at the level of the sphincter of Oddi. The Milwaukee classification stratifies patients according to their clinical picture based on elevated liver enzymes, dilated common bile duct and presence of abdominal pain. Type Ⅰ patients have pain as well as abnormal liver enzymes and a dilated common bile duct. Type Ⅱ SOD consists of pain and only one objective finding, and Type Ⅲ consists of biliary pain only. This classification is useful to guide diagnosis and management of sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. The current gold standard for diagnosis is manometry to detect elevated sphincter pressure, which correlates with outcome to sphincterotomy. However, manometry is not widely available and is an invasive procedure with a risk of pancreatitis. Non-invasive testing methods, including fatty meal ultrasonography and scintigraphy, have shown limited correlation with manometric findings but may be useful in predicting outcome to sphincterotomy. Endoscopic injection of botulinum toxin appears to predict subsequent outcome to sphincterotomy, and could be useful in selection of patients for therapy, especially in the setting where manometry is unavailable.

This paper aimed to discuss urban conservation challenges along the axes of two streets in the neighborhood of Yenikapi leading towards *** Yenikapi area of the historic peninsula of Istanbul is known to have been inhabited since prehistoric times,and it was the site of an important late antiquity *** cultural assets,including monuments from a number of periods and nineteenth century houses,remain in the area,but jarring changes have occurred due to newly built constructions,town planning decisions,and the development of public *** any proposal for future area conservation activities,the current state of conservation was inspected through onsite analyses conducted along Pa^azade,imrahor Hamami,and Sepet^i Selim *** analyzing the pressures affecting the historical peninsula,the challenges in the conservation effort of the study area were determined,followed by some proposals for its enhancement and general conservation.

Current guidelines for implantable cardioverter-defibrillator （ICD） therapy in heart failure patients were established by multiple device Irials; however, very few geriatric patients （patients ≥ 65 years old） were included in these studies. This article explores the controversies of ICD implantation in the geriatric population, management of delivered ICD therapy in this age group, and the end of life care in patients with ICD.

Evaluation of Cell Type Annotation R Packages on Single-cell RNA-seq

Annotating cell types is a critical step in single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)data *** supervised or semi-supervised classification methods have recently emerged to enable automated cell type ***,comprehensive evaluations of these methods are ***,it is not clear whether some classification methods originally designed for analyzing other bulk omics data are adaptable to scRNA-seq *** this study,we evaluated ten cell type annotation methods publicly available as R *** of them are popular methods developed specifically for single-cell research,including Seurat,scmap,SingleR,CHETAH,SingleCellNet,scID,Garnett,and *** other two methods were repurposed from deconvoluting DNA methylation data,i.e.,linear constrained projection(CP)and robust partial correlations(RPC).We conducted systematic comparisons on a wide variety of public scRNA-seq datasets as well as simulation *** assessed the accuracy through intra-dataset and inter-dataset predictions;the robustness over practical challenges such as gene filtering,high similarity among cell types,and increased cell type classes;as well as the detection of rare and unknown cell ***,methods such as Seurat,SingleR,CP,RPC,and SingleCellNet performed well,with Seurat being the best at annotating major cell ***,Seurat,SingleR,CP,and RPC were more robust against ***,Seurat did have a major drawback at predicting rare cell populations,and it was suboptimal at differentiating cell types highly similar to each other,compared to SingleR and *** the code and data are available from https://***/qianhuiSenn/scRNA_cell_deconv_benchmark.
