In nature,plants acquire nutrients from soils to sustain growth,and at the same time,they need to avoid the uptake of toxic compounds and/or possess tolerance systems to cope with *** is particularly challenging when the toxic compound and the nutrient are chemically similar,as in the case of phosphate and *** this study,we demonstrated that regulatory elements of the phosphate starvation response(PSr)coordinate the arsenate detoxification machinery in the *** showed that arsenate repression of the phosphate transporter PHT1;1 is associated with the degradation of the PSr master regulator *** arsenic is sequestered into the vacuole,PHr1 stability is restored and PHT1;1 expression is ***,we identified an arsenite responsive SKP1-like protein and a PHr1 interactor F-box(PHIF1)as constituents of the SCF complex responsible for PHr1 *** found that arsenite,the form to which arsenate is reduced for compartmentalization in vacuoles,represses PHT1;1 expression,providing a highly selective signal versus phosphate to control PHT1;1 expression in response to ***,our results provide molecular insights into a sensing mechanism that regulates arsenate/phosphate uptake depending on the plant’s detoxification capacity.

Purpose:The aim of the present study was to assess both the credibility and strength of evidence arising from systematic reviews with meta-analyses of observational studies on handgrip strength and health ***:An umbrella review of systematic reviews with meta-analyses of observational studies was *** assessed meta-analyses of observational studies based on random-effect summary effect sizes and their p values,95%prediction intervals,heterogeneity,small-study effects,and excess *** graded the evidence from convincing(Class I)to weak(Class IV).results:From 504 articles returned in a search of the literature,8 systematic reviews were included in our review,with a total of 11 ***,nine of the 11 of the outcomes reported nominally significant summary results(prviving the application of the more stringent p value(presented convincing *** associations showed Class II evidence(i.e.,highly suggestive):(1)higher handgrip values at baseline were associated with a minor reduction in mortality risk in the general population(n=34 studies;sample size=1,855,817;relative risk=0.72,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.670.78),(2)cardiovascular death risk in mixed populations(n=15 studies;relative risk=0.84,95%CI:0.780.91),and(3)incidence of disability(n=7 studies;relative risk=0.76,95%CI:0.660.87).Conclusion:The present results show that handgrip strength is a useful indicator for general health status and specifically for early all-cause and cardiovascular mortality,as well as *** further inform intervention strategies,future research is now required to fully understand mechanisms linking handgrip strength scores to these health outcomes.

Using biophysical Variables and Stand Density to Estimate Growth and Yield of <i>Pinus patula</i>in Antioquia, Colombia

Timberland investment opportunities in Colombia are expected to increase as a result of the peace agreement recently signed between the Colombian government and the revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. This new socio-political environment may facilitate the expansion of commercial forest plantations on a wider range of site conditions that are currently considered in existing biometric tools. Data from 1119 temporary plots of unthinned, unmanaged, and genetically unimproved Pinus patula plantations in the Antioquia region were combined with a large set of biophysical attributes to identify spatial variation in yield. A wide array of biophysical covariates was explored to characterize the most favorable environmental conditions for the species, and to identify potential explanatory variables to be included in forest yield models. The mathematical form of the model is the von bertalanffy-Chapman-richards type, with parameters: asymptote, intrinsic growth rate and allometric constant. The parameters were expressed as linear functions of soil pH, terrain slope, the mean annual temperature to mean annual precipitation ratio, and stand density. The statistical contribution of selected covariates was evaluated using the likelihood ratio test. The model was validated using an independent set of 133 observations. The spatial representation of the model depicts the timber production potential and allows for the identification of the most suitable geographical areas to establish Pinus patula plantations in Antioquia, Colombia. The estimated yield model provides a reliable baseline for timber production, and insight into timberland investments in Colombia.

Study of Some Lakes in the North-Eastern romanian Plain Using the Coherence Image of the Tandem Pair (ErS-1 and ErS-2)

In radar SAr interferometry (InSAr/DinSAr), a Tandem pair (ErS-1/2) is used for the realization of a DEM or the detection of deformations of a major event (e.g. earthquake) occurring between two acquisitions. The advantage of the Tandem pair is the time interval of 24 hours between the two captures. Generally, there is no temporal decorrelation considering the small difference in time between the acquisitions, which results in a good coherence. The coherence image is used indirectly in radar SAr interferometry as an indicator of the levels of confidence of the interferograms. It can be used in a direct way to identify and delimit the various movement zones which disturb the phase of the radar wave. The objective of this work is to show the utility and the effectiveness of the coherence image in the cartography of lakes and vegetation in a region at the Curvature of the romanian Carpathians1. between the two acquisitions dates of May 28 and 29, 1995, there was no geological process involving displacements in direction of the radar. This pair represents the only one among the other pairs which gave a good coherence for the whole scene. In the flat part, one notes a good coherence except for the lakes. They are well represented by very dark colours with zero coherence. In the part of high altitude, especially where there is vegetation, a bad coherence can be clearly seen. Using this image (coherence), one could distinguish the parts with vegetation in great movements due to the effects of the wind, therefore characterised by great heights. The coherence image thus makes it possible to delimit two natural elements in this area, the lakes and the vegetation. The lakes are well delimited, in particular when they are full as in the rain seasons. To show this utility and this effectiveness of the coherence image, we measured the surfaces and dimensions of the lakes based on the Tandem pair and to make a comparison with the existing data and to interpret the results obtained

Influence of Contraception on basic Vaginal States: A Prospective Study

To evaluate the influence of contraceptive methods on the basic vaginal states (bVSs) in women in fertile age, 108 women consulting for birth control (14 - 45 years) were included in a prospective study. The vaginal content was sampled both before they began using the chosen contraceptive method (see below) and three months later, and then analyzed using the balance of Vaginal Content (bAVACO) methodology. Five bVSs were defined: 1) normal microbiota;2) normal microbiota with vaginal inflammatory reaction (VIr);3) intermediate microbiota;4) bacterial vaginosis and 5) non-specific microbial vaginitis. The following contraceptive methods were considered: combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP), intrauterine device (IUD), condom (CON), the rhythm method (rHYT) and simultaneous double protection (COCP + CON). The McNemar statistical test was used. COCP (n = 71): 20 samples retained normal bVSs and two were altered;nine out of the 49 altered samples returned to normal;IUD (n = 4): two samples modified their normal bVS to III and IV;CON (n = 25): the VIr increased in 20% of the samples;rHYT (n = 6): four samples retained the normal bVS;and COCP + CON (n = 2): samples preserved their initial bVS (II). The increased frequency of bVS I in the COCP group was significant (x2 = 3.3;p = 0.04). The relative frequency of each bVS was significantly modified, attributed to the type of contraceptive method used. The intake of hormones corrects alterations and retains a normal bVS. The contraceptive methods that use an external factor of local contact either maintain or alter the microbiota and VIr.

Dissolution behavior of Gold in Alkaline Media Using Thiourea

In this work the dissolutive behavior of gold in alkaline medium using thiourea (TU), under different variables, was studied in a theoretical and experimental way, in order to determine the conditions under which it is feasible to dissolve gold in thiourea-alkaline medium. A thermodynamic study was conducted by chemical speciation using the method of ro-jas-Hernández, together with an electrochemical study where the electric potential was swept in the anodic direction. The main results of the thermodynamic study were that formamidine disulfide (FDS) and sulfinic compounds (S.C.) prevail at alkaline pH;by increasing the initial concen-tration of thiourea at alkaline pH, the presence of the gold complex is al-most zero for any initial concentration of thiourea. by including sodium sulfite in the gold-thiourea system, it was possible to obtain the Au(I)-TU complex at alkaline pH, with a presence of 95.13%. Electrochemical tests allowed verifying that in the absence of sodium sulfite the dissolution of gold in an alkaline medium is very slow but adding sodium sulfite im-provements become evident in the dissolution of the metal. Therefore, sodium sulfite catalyzes the gold dissolution process and stabilizes the thiourea. With this study it was possible to establish the feasibility of using thiourea in an alkaline medium for the dissolution of gold, and the conditions under which it is possible to dissolve the gold in that medium. With these fundamentals and conditions, it is now possible to move forward to test this system for minerals and/or concentrates containing gold.

癌症纳米医学是面对传统化疗局限的最佳选择。由于共价有机结构(COFs)具有密度低,结构规整,表面积大,孔径可微调,不含金属离子等特点,在许多研究领域得到了广泛的研究,近年来,在生物医学和医药领域,COFs在癌症治疗方面也得到了广泛的应用。近来,人们对纳米级COFs改善散装COFs的性能产生了极大的兴趣,使其作为纳米载体的适用范围不断拓宽,具有突出的负载能力和治疗药物的高效输送。本论文主要针对COFs的这一特性,设计刺激响应型纳米级COFs,并探讨其在药物输送方面的潜在应用。首先,合成了一种同时具有两个肼键和一个二硫键的新型构筑物(4,4’-二肼二苯基二硫化物,DHDS)。第二,利用DHDS与苯-1,3,5-三聚甲醛(bTA)在溶热条件下的多功能席夫碱反应,制备了腙和含二硫键的COFs(HY/SS-COFs)。第三,将Poloxamer 188共组装到COFs的外表面,经超声剥离后得到pH和氧化还原双重响应的纳米载体(HY/SS-CONs)。最后,多柔比星(DOX)也被加载到CONs上,然后共组装制备DOX加载的HY/SS-CONs。结果表明,HY/SS-CONs和DOX负载的HY/SS-CONs具有良好的生物利用率,并在模拟细胞外环境中保持其稳定性。此外,由于HY/SS-CONs的高比表面积、多孔结构以及HY/SS-CONs与DOX之间的疏水和π-π堆积相互作用,HY/SS-CONs可以有效地负载DOX,其药物负载能力高达～18%。随后,当暴露在pH值为5.0和10m M GSH的介质中时,在酸性和还原性环境下以持续和快速的方式在细胞内释放。因此,这种新型的HY/SS-CON纳米平台有可能被认为是有前途的智能纳米载体,用于化疗药物的输送。

Developing High Strength Pervious Concrete Mixtures with Local Materials

This study focuses on developing pervious concrete mixtures that have higher compressive strengths than conventional pervious concrete. This study also focuses on producing high strength pervious concrete that is also made with locally available materials. The study focused on four aspects of pervious concrete to produce high compressive strengths. These parameters were the effect of the coarse aggregate (type and size), the compaction of the test specimens, the effect of the w/c along with superplasticizers, and lastly the effect of silica fume. This study was completed parametrically in order to isolate each variable in order to see its individual affect. Once an optimum performance was obtained from one variable the best performing mixture was used for the next variable testing. This method allowed for the highest performing mixture to be obtained from each of the investigated variables. The results showed that high strength pervious concrete made with local aggregates, without polymers, and without fibers can be produced in the range of 15.44 MPa - 21.63 MPa. A porosity range 19.1% - 32.9% with a percolation rate range of 5.8 mm/s - 1.9 mm/s was also achieved, with a porosity of 19.4% and percolation rate of 2.6 mm/s for the highest performing mixture.

＜正＞To improve global water resource assessment,quantification of the global river discharge while considering the effect of slopes is *** patterns need to be transformed into discharge by a distributed hydrological model（DHM）.The model is expected to represent the spatial variation in aspects of digital global mapping such land use,land cover,vegetation and ***,a digital elevation model（DEM） is crucial for tracking the flow direction and defining the river network in a *** this study,the performance of a 1 km resolution DHM is compared with that of a 90 m resolution DHM in simulating the discharge of the Meghna river in *** basin,which is poorly gauged,runs from the Assam and Tripura mountain regions of India to the metropolitan area of *** the bangladeshi area of the basin,the slopes are very gentle and typical of flat plains,which make it difficult to represent the geomorphological characteristics with *** expected,the 1 km resolution model had more constraints in representing the actual river ***,using a national drainage map it was possible to improve the DEM hydrologically using geographic information system *** input rainfall was obtained from the Tropical rainfall Measuring Mission（TrMM） 3b42 V6 products available almost globally at 0.25°spatial *** original TrMM data was improved using available rain gauges over bangladesh. These correction factors were then also extended over *** simulated discharge was evaluated during a flood event at two stations:Zhakiganj at the intake of the upper Meghna river and bhairab bazar at the oudet of the models.
