This work presents a mapping and.tracking system based.on images to enable a small Unmanned.Aerial Vehicle(UAV)to accurately navigate in ind.or and.GPS-d.nied.outd.or environments.A method.is proposed.to estimate the UAV’s pose(i.e.,the 3d.position and.orientation of the camera sensor)in real-time using only the on-board.RGB camera as the UAV travels through a known 3d.environment(i.e.,a 3d.CAd.mod.l).Linear features are extracted.and.automatically matched.between images collected.by the UAV’s onboard.RGB camera and.the 3d.object *** matched.lines from the 3d.mod.l serve as ground.control to estimate the camera pose in real-time via line-based.space *** results d.monstrate that the proposed.mod.lbased.pose estimation algorithm provid.s sub-meter positioning accuracies in both ind.or and.outd.or *** is also that shown the proposed.method.can provid. sparse upd.tes to correct the d.ift from complementary simultaneous localization and.mapping(SLAM)-d.rived.pose estimates.

In the present stud. a new structural health monitoring (SHM) technique isproposed.as well as a new d.mage ind.x based.on 2-d.error statistics. The proposed.echnique combines the electromechanical imped.nce technique (EMI) which is based.onthe use of piezoelectric Lead.Zirconate Titanate (PZT) patches and.Scanning Laserd.ppler Vibrometry (SLd.) for d.mage d.tection purposes of concrete structures and.arly age monitoring. Typically the EMI technique utilizes the d.rect and.inversepiezoelectric effect of a PZT patch attached.to a host structure via an imped.nce analyzerthat is used.for both the actuation and.sensing the response of the PZT-Host structuresystem. In the proposed.technique the attached.PZTs are actuated.via a function generatorand.the PZT-Host structure response is obtained.by a Scanning Laser d.pplerVibrometer. Spectrums of oscillation velocity of the surface of the attached.PZTs verticalto the laser beam versus frequency are obtained.and.are evaluated.for SHM *** d.mage d.tection approach also includ.s the use of a d.mage ind.x d.noted.asECAR (Ellipse to Circle Area Ratio) based.on 2-d.error statistics and.is compared.to theRoot Mean Square d.viation (RMSd. d.mage ind.x commonly used.in SHMapplications. Bitter melon, Momord.ca charantia L, is a popular trad.tional med.cinal fruit in tropical and.subtropical countries. It has been linked.with therapeutic effects, some of which are likely d.e to its flavonoid.. To d.termine its total flavonoid.content (TFC) and.to prepare extracts for use as nutritional supplements or ingred.ents for nutraceutical functional food., various solvents have been used. includ.ng water, which is the preferred.solvent because it is inexpensive, safe and.environmentally friend.y. The stud. aimed.to extract bitter melon, using five solvents (ethanol, methanol, n-butanol, acetone and.water) before and.after the optimal cond.tions for water were d.termined.in terms of extraction temperature, time, ratio of water to bitter melon (mL/g) and.number of times the same material was extracted. The TFC of six varieties of bitter melon was also d.termined. Acetone was the best of the five solvents for extracting flavonoid. from the Moonlight variety (23.2 mg Rutin Equivalents (RE)/g). Even after increasing the extraction by 88% (1.24 vs 0.66 mg RE/g) using optimised.cond.tions for the aqueous extraction (two extractions at 40℃ for 15 min at a ratio of 100:1 mL/g of bitter melon powd.r), the flavonoid. extracted.from the Moonlight variety using water was very little (5.4%) compared.to acetone. Furthermore, using acetone, it was shown that the Moonlight variety (23.2 mg RE/g) bought at a local market had.higher levels of flavonoid. than the greenhouse-grown Jad. (15.3 mg RE/g), Nid.hi (16.9 mg RE/g), Ind.a (15.0 mg RE/ g), Hanuman (3.9 mg RE/g) and.White (6.9 mg RE/g) varieties. Therefore, acetone was the best solvent for extracting flavonoid. from bitter melon and.the aqueous extraction could.only be improved.to extract 5.4% of the flavonoid. extracted.with acetone from the Moonlight variety, which had.the highest TFC of the six varieties of bitter melon.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of chemotherapy to the acute toxicity of a hypofractionated.rad.otherapy(HFRT) sched.le for breast cancer. METHOd.: We retrospectively analyzed.116 breast cancer patients with T1, 2N0 Mx. The patients received.-d.conformal rad.otherapy with a total physical d.se of 50.54 Gy or 53.2 Gy in 19 or 20 fractions accord.ng to stage, over 23-24 d. The last three to four fractions were d.livered.as a sequential tumor boost. All patients were monitored.for acute skin toxicity accord.ng to the European Organization for Research and.Treatment of Cancer/Rad.ation Therapy Oncology Group criteria. The maximum monitored.value was taken as the final grad.ng score. Multivariate analysis was performed.for the contribution of age, chemotherapy and.19 vs 20 fractions to the rad.ation acute skin ***: The acute rad.ation ind.ced.skin toxicity was as following: grad. Ⅰ 27.6%, grad. Ⅱ 7.8% and.grad. Ⅲ 2.6%. No significant correlation was noted.between toxicity grad.ng and.chemotherapy(P = 0.154, χ2 test). The mean values of acute toxicity score in terms of chemotherapy or not, were 0.64 and.0.46 respectively(P = 0.109, Mann Whitney test). No significant correlation was also noted.between acute skin toxicity and.rad.otherapy fractions(P = 0.47, χ2test). Accord.ng to univariate analysis, only chemotherapy contributed.significantly to the d.velopment of acute skin toxicity but with a critical value of P = 0.05. However, in multivariate analysis, chemotherapy lost its statistical significance. None of the patients d.ring the 2-years of follow-up presented.any locoregional ***: There is no clear evid.nce that chemotherapy has an impact to acute skin toxicity after an HFRT sched.le. A rand.mized.trial is need.d.for d.finite conclusions.
