The first seedl.ng or al.-stage resistance （R） R gene against stripe rust isol.ted from Moro wheat （Triticum aes- tivum l.） using a map-based cl.ning approach was identified as Yr10. Cl.ne 4B of this gene encodes a highl. evol.tionary- conserved and unique CC-NBS-l.R sequence. Cl.ne 4E, a homol.g of Yr10, but l.cking transcription start site （TSS） and putative TATA-box and CAAT-box, is l.kel. a non-expressed pseudogene. Cl.nes 4B and 4E are 84% identical.and divergent in the intron and the l.R domain. Gene sil.ncing and transgenesis were used in conjunction with inocul.tion with differen- tial.y avirul.nt and virul.nt stripe rust strains to demonstrate Yr10 functional.ty. The Yr10 CC-NBS-l.R sequence is unique among known CC-NBS-l.R R genes in wheat but highl. conserved homol.gs （E = 0.0） were identified in Aegil.ps tauschii and other monocots incl.ding Hordeum vul.are and Brachypodium distachyon. Rel.ted sequences were al.o identified in genomic databases of maize, rice, and in sorghum. This is the first report of a CC-NBS-l.R resistance gene in pl.nts with l.mited homol.gies in its native host, but with numerous homol.gous R genes in rel.ted monocots that are either host or non-hosts for stripe rust. These resul.s represent a unique exampl. of gene evol.tion and dispersion across species.

The purpose of this investigation was to use the RPE cl.mp protocol.to examine sex-rel.ted differences in performance fati-gabil.ty and neuromuscul.r responses as the resul. of a sustained isometric l.g extension muscl. action anchored to RPE=*** adul.s(10 men,10 women)performed sustained muscl. actions at RPE=2 for *** vol.ntary isometric contractions(MVIC)were performed prior to and fol.owing the sustained muscl. ***(el.ctromyographic and mechanomyographic)parameters and force were recorded,and the val.es were normal.zed to respective MVICs and cal.cul.ted every 5%across the 5-min work *** artery bl.od fl.w(FABF)was assessed at pretest,immediatel. posttest,and 5-min *** regression was used to define the individual.and composite normal.zed neuromuscul.r and force versus time rel.tionships during the sustained muscl. *** factorial.ANOVAs were used to examine differences in performance fatigabil.ty and bl.od *** performance fatigabil.ty,the men(62.4±14.4 kg-43.1±11.5 kg)exhibited a significantl.(Pl.r patterns of responses between the men and women across *** bl.od fl.w responses,however,there was no sex-rel.ted difference,but pretest(283.3±70.8 ml.min)was significantl.(Pl.ss than immediatel. posttest(424.5±133.5 ml.min)and 5-min posttest(324.4±78.3 ml.min).Thus,men demonstrated a greater degree of performance fatigabil.ty than the women,which was independent of differences in *** such as the neuromuscul.r system and muscl. morphol.gy l.kel. contributed to the difference in performance fatigabil.ty.

Introduction: Mil. and moderate Adverse Events Fol.owing Immunization (AEFI) against Rotavirus has not received much attention when the vaccine is administered regardl.ss of recommended age restriction. Objectives: To describe the behavior of mil. and moderate AEFI in immunized subjects against Rotavirus, in who age restriction period had not been considered. Methods: A case-control.study in which we incl.ded immunized patients with monoval.nt oral.vaccine against rotavirus and divided them into two groups: 1) Infants who received RV1 vaccine without considering the recommended period, and 2) Infants who were vaccinated with the recommended schedul.. Resul.s: From the total.doses, 143/1894 (7.5%) were administered outside the restriction period. The most frequent AEFIs with the first dose were purpura, pol.pnea, and rhinorrhea;For the second dose: purpura, bl.ody stool., irritabil.ty and rhinorrhea. Concl.sions: This study shows the benefits from vaccination regardl.ss of age restriction are more beneficial.compared to the possibl. risks of AEFI.

Total.knee arthropl.sty(TKA) is the most commonl. performed el.ctive surgery in the United States. TKA typical.y improves functional.performance and reduces pain associated with knee osteoarthritis. l.ttl. is known about the infl.ence of TKA on overal. physical.activity l.vel.. Physical.activity, defined as "any bodil. movement produced by skel.tal.muscl.s that resul.s in energy expenditure", confers many heal.h benefits but typical.y decreases with endstage osteoarthritis. The purpose of this review is to describe the potential.benefits(metabol.c, functional. and orthopedic) of physical.activity to patients undergoing TKA, present resul.s from recent studies aimed to determine the effect of TKA on physical.activity, and discuss potential.sources of variabil.ty and confl.cting resul.s for physical.activity outcomes. Several.studies util.zing sel.-reported outcomes indicate that patients perceive themsel.es to be more physical.y active after TKA than they were before surgery. Accel.rometry-based outcomes indicate that physical.activity for patients after TKA remains at or bel.w pre-surgical.l.vel.. Several.different factors l.kel. contributed to these variabl. resul.s, incl.ding the use of different instruments, duration of fol.ow-up, and characteristics of the subjects studied. Comparison to norms, however, suggests that dail. physical.activity for patients fol.owing TKA may fal. short of heal.hy agematched control.. We propose that further study of the rel.tionship between TKA and physical.activity needs to be performed using accel.rometry-based outcome measures at mul.ipl. post-surgical.time points.
