Colon capsule endoscopy(CCE)was introduced nearly two decades ***,it was limited by poor image quality and short battery time,but due to technical improvements,it has become an equal diagnostic alternative to optical colonoscopy(OC).Hastened by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic,CCE has been introduced in clinical practice to relieve overburdened endoscopy units and move investigations to out-patient clinics.A wider adoption of CCE would be bolstered by positive patient experience,as it offers a diagnostic investigation that is not inferior to other *** shortcomings of CCE include its inability to differentiate adenomatous polyps from hyperplastic *** this issue would improve the stratification of patients for polyp *** intelligence(AI)has shown promising results in polyp detection and characterization to minimize incomplete CCEs and avoid needless *** AI appears to be a needed application to enable near-real-time decision-making in order to diminish patient waiting times and avoid superfluous subsequent *** this letter,we discuss the potential and role of AI in CCE as a diagnostic tool for the large bowel.

MnFe2O4 nanoparticles as new catalyst for oxidative degradation of phenol by peroxydisulfate

Manganese ferrite nanopowder was prepared by thermal decomposition at 400℃ of the gel synthesized from manganese and iron nitrates and polyvinyl alcohol. X-ray diffractometry evidenced that manganese ferrite was formed as single crystalline phase at this temperature. Scanning electron microscope images evidenced the formation of very fine spherical particles （d 〈 11 nm） of manganese ferrite, with specific surface area of 147 m2/g. The powder obtained at 400℃ was used as a catalyst for the oxidative degradation of phenol in aqueous solutions, in the presence of potassium peroxydisulfate as oxidant. High phenol removal efficiencies above 90% were reached at： pH 3-3.5, phenol initial concentration around 50 mg/L, peroxydisulfate：phenol mass ratio 10：1, and catalyst dose 3 g/L. Total organic carbon measurements showed that the degradation of phenol goes, under these conditions, to mineralization in an extent of 60%.

Electrochemical reduction of CO_(2) to value-added chemicals holds promise for carbon utilization and renewable electricity ***,selective CO_(2) reduction to multi-carbon fuels remains a significant ***,we report that B/N-doped sp^(3)/sp^(2) hybridized nanocarbon(BNHC),consisting of ultra-small nanoparticles with a sp^(3) carbon core covered by a sp^(2) carbon shell,is an efficient electrocatalyst for electrochemical reduction of CO_(2) to ethanol at relatively low ***_(2) reduction occurs with a Faradaic efficiency of 58.8%-69.1% for ethanol and acetate production at -0.5∼-0.6 V(***),among which 51.6%-56.0% is for *** high selectivity for ethanol is due to the integrated effect of sp^(3)/sp^(2) carbon and B/N *** sp^(3) carbon and B/N doping contribute to enhanced ethanol production with sp^(2) carbon reducing the overpotential for CO_(2) reduction to ethanol.

Background Krill（Euphausia superba） and salps（Salpa thompsoni） are key macrozooplankton grazers in the Southern Ocean ecosystem. However, due to differing habitat requirements, both species previously exhibited little spatial overlap. With ongoing climate change-induced seawater temperature increase and regional sea ice loss, salps can now extend their spatial distribution into historically krill-dominated areas and increase rapidly due to asexual reproduction when environmental conditions are favorable. Understanding the potential effects on krill is crucial, since krill is a species of exceptional trophic significance in the Southern Ocean food web. Negative impacts on krill could trigger cascading effects on its predators and prey. To address this question, we combined two individual-based models on salps and krill, which describe the whole life cycle of salp individuals and the dynamic energy budget of individual krill. The resulting new model PEKRIS（PErformance of KRIll vs. Salps） simulates a krill population for 100 years under varying chlorophyll-a concentrations in the presence or absence of *** All of the investigated krill population properties（abundance, mean length, and yearly egg production） were significantly impacted by the presence of salps. On the other hand, salp density was not impacted if krill were present. The medians of krill population properties deviated during variable maximum chlorophyll-a density per year when salps were introduced by-99.9%（-234 individuals per 1000 m3） for krill density,-100%（-22,062 eggs per 1000 m3） for krill eggs and-0.9%（-0.3 mm） for mean length of *** If both species compete for the same food resource in a closed space, salps seem to inhibit krill populations.
