BACk.ROUND Abdominal wall deficiencies or weak.ess are a common complication of tem-porary ostomies,and incisional hernias frequently develop after colostomy or ileostomy *** use of synthetic meshes to reinforce the abdominal wall has reduced hernia *** meshes have also been used to enhance healing,particularly in contaminated *** tissue matrices(R-TMs),which include a biologic scaffold of native extracellular matrix and a syn-thetic component for added strength/durability,are designed to tak. advantage of aspects of both synthetic and biologic *** date,RTMs have not been reported to reinforce the abdominal wall following stoma *** Twenty-eight patients were selected with a parastomal and/or incisional hernia who had received a temporary ileostomy or colostomy for fecal diversion after rectal cancer treatment or *** hernia repair and proximal stoma closure,RTM(OviTex®1S permanent or OviTex®LPR)was placed to reinforce the abdominal wall using a laparoscopic,robotic,or open surgical ***-operative follow-up was performed at 1 month and 1 *** recurrence was determined by physical examination and,when necessary,via computed tomo-graphy *** endpoints included length of hospital stay,time to return to work.and hospital *** complications of the wound/repair site included presence of surgical site infection,seroma,hematoma,wound dehiscence,or fistula *** The observational study cohort included 16 male and 12 female patients with average age of 58.5 years±16.3 years and average body mass index of 26.2 k./m^(2)±4.1 k./m^(2).Patients presented with a parastomal hernia(75.0%),in-cisional hernia(14.3%),or combined parastomal/incisional hernia(10.7%).Using a laparoscopic(53.6%),robotic(35.7%),or open(10.7%)technique,RTMs(OviTex®LPR:82.1%,OviTex®1S:17.9%)were placed using sublay(82.1%)or intraperitoneal onlay(IPOM;17.9%)mesh *** 1-mo

Preliminary Mo isotope data of Phanerozoic clastic sediments from the northern margin of the Yangtze block.and its implication for paleoenvironmental conditions

Mo isotopes along with Nd isotopes and other geochemical characteristics of the Phanerozoic clastic sediments from the northern margin of the Yangtze block.were analyzed by MC-ICP-MS and some other techniques, spanning the period from Cambrian to Jurassic. The δ 98Mo values and εNd(t ) in these sedimets were observed to exhibit a large range of variation (?0.65‰―+1.87‰, ?1.46―?10.90, respec-tively). Specifically, the sample from Late Permian Maok.u Formation has relatively positive values in both δ 98Mo and εNd(t ) (+0.97‰, ?1.46, respectively). These elevated values are proposed to relate to the input of a large quantity of H2S and HS- into the contemporaneous seawater by the volcanic eruption of the Emeishan mantle plume. Introduction of these sulfide gases would cause MoO42? to be transferred into MoS24?, favoring the preferential deposition of the heavy Mo isotope as MoS24? and thus leaving a positive Mo isotope value. The sample from Late Permian Changxing Formation has a significantly elevated δ 98Mo value of +1.87‰, in association with the relatively negative εNd(t ) (?10.90) and remain the relatively higher content of both TOC and total sulfur (TS) (1.52%, 2.02%, respectively). This infers the presence of the enhanced primary productivity and high organic burial during the Changxing pe-riod. The production of a huge quantity of HS? and H2S by the sulfate-reducing reaction led to the ex-istence of the elevated seawater δ 98Mo values during the Changxing period. The preliminary Phanero-zoic data reported here allow us to propose that the Mo isotope signature preserved in reductive sediments is related to the regional tectonic settings and the associated environmental conditions, and thus the measurement of δ 98Mo promotes our understanding on the evolution of the paleoenviron-mental event in the Earth history.
