Wastewater surveillance, also referred to as wastewaterbased surveillance (WBs) and wastewater-based epidemiology(WBE), has become a powerful tool for the monitoring, control, and prevention of infectious diseases, including COVID-19. Wastewater surveillance is a complementary and unbiased approach to evaluate disease burden at a population level(Hrudey et al., 2022;Kitajima et al., 2020;Kumblathan et al.,2021;Polo et al., 2020).

We herein used Fe3O4 nanoparticles（NPs） as an adsorption interface for the concurrent removal of gaseous benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and m-xylene（BTEX） and sulfur dioxide（sO2）, at different relative humidities（RH）. X-ray diffraction, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and transmission electron microscopy were deployed for nanoparticle surface ***-dispersed Fe3O4（Fe2O3·Fe O） NPs synthesized with oleic acid（OA） as surfactant, and uncoated poly-dispersed Fe3O4 NPs demonstrated comparable removal *** experiments of BTEX on NPs were measured using gas chromatography equipped with flame ionization detection, which indicated high removal efficiencies（up to（95 ± 2）%） under dry conditions. The humidity effect and competitive adsorption were investigated using toluene as a model compound. It was observed that the removal efficiencies decreased as a function of the increase in RH, yet, under our experimental conditions, we observed（40 ± 4）% toluene removal at supersaturation for Fe3O4 NPs, and toluene removal of（83 ± 4）% to（59 ± 6）%, for OA-Fe3O4 NPs. In the presence of sO2, the toluene uptake was reduced under dry conditions to（89 ± 2）% and（75 ± 1）% for the uncoated and coated NPs, respectively, depicting competitive adsorption. At RH 〉 100%,competitive adsorption reduced the removal efficiency to（27 ± 1）% for uncoated NPs whereas OA-Fe3O4 NPs exhibited moderate efficiency loss of（55 ± 2）% at *** point to heterogeneous water coverage on the NP surface. The magnetic property of magnetite facilitated the recovery of both types of NPs, without the loss in efficiency when recycled and reused.

Gut microbes comprise a high density, biologically active community that lies at the interface of an animal with its nutritional environment. Consequently their activity profoundly influences many aspects of the physiology and metabolism of the host animal. A range of microbial structural components and metabolites directly interact with host intestinal cells and tissues to influence nutrient uptake and epithelial health. Endocrine, neuronal and lymphoid cells in the gut also integrate signals from these microbial factors to influence systemic responses. Dysregulation of these host-microbe interactions is now recognised as a major risk factor in the development of metabolic dysfunction. This is a two-way process and understanding the factors that tip host-microbiome homeostasis over to dysbiosis requires greater appreciation of the host feedbacks that contribute to regulation of microbial community composition. To date, numerous studies have employed taxonomic profiling approaches to explore the links between microbial composition and host outcomes(especially obesity and its comorbidities), but inconsistent host-microbe associations have been reported. Available data indicates multiple factors have contributed to discrepancies between studies. These include the high level of functional redundancy in host-microbiome interactions combined with individual variation in microbiome composition; differences in study design, diet composition and host system between studies; and inherent limitations to the resolution of r RNA-based community profiling. Accounting for these factors allows for recognition of the common microbial and host factors driving community composition and development of dysbiosis on high fat diets. New therapeutic intervention options are now emerging.

Time-series of land surface phenology （LsP） data offer insights about vegetation growth patterns. They can be generated by exploiting the temporal and spectral reflectance properties of land surface components. Inter- annual and seasonal LsP data are important for under- standing and predicting an ecosystem＇s response to variations caused by natural and anthropogenic drivers. This research examines spatio-temporal change patterns and interactions between terrestrial phenology and 28 years of climate dynamics in Central Asia. Long-term （1981-2008） LsP records such as timing of the start, peak and length of the growing season and vegetation productivity were derived from remotely sensed vegetation greenness data. The patterns were analyzed to identify and characterize the impact of climate drivers at regional scales. We explored the relationships between phenologi- cal and precipitation and temperature variables for three generalized land use types that were exposed to decade- long regional drought events and intensified land and water resource use： rainfed agriculture, irrigated agriculture, and non-agriculture. To determine whether and how LsP dynamics are associated with climate patterns, a series of simple linear regression analyses between these two variables was executed. The three land use classes showed unique phenological responses to climate variation across Central Asia. Most of the phenological response variables were shown to be positively correlated to precipitation and negatively correlated to temperature. The most substantial climate variable affecting phenological responses of all three land use classes was a spring temperature regime. These results indicate that future higher temperatures would cause earlier and longer growing seasons.

Neuroendocrine differentiation （NED）, which is not uncommon in prostate cancer, is increases in prostate cancer after androgen-deprivation therapy （ADT） and generally appears in castration- resistant prostate cancer （CRPC）. Neuroendocrine ceils, which are found in normal prostate tissue, are a small subset of cells and have unique function in regulating the growth of prostate ceils. Prostate cancer with NED includes different types of tumor, including focal NED, pure neuroendocrine tumor or mixed neuroendocrine-adenocarcinoma. Although more and more studies are carried out on NED in prostate cancer, the molecular components that are involved in NED are still poorly elucidated. We review neuroendocrine cells in normal prostate tissue, NED in prostate cancer, terminology of NED and biomarkers used for detecting NED in routine pathological practice. some recently reported molecular components which drive NED in prostate cancer are listed in the review.

Triple negative breast cancer(TNBC) accounts for 15%-20% of all breast cancer, and is still defined as what it is not. Currently, TNBC is the only type of breast cancer for which there are no approved targeted therapies and maximum tolerated dose chemotherapy with taxanes and anthracycline-containing regimens is still the standard of care in both the neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings. In the last years, metronomic chemotherapy(MC) is being explored as an alternative to improve outcomes in TNBC. In the neoadjuvant setting, purely metronomic and hybrid approaches have been developed with the objective of increasing complete pathologic response(p CR) and prolonging disease free survival. These regimens proved to be very effective achieving pC R rates between 47%-60%, but at the cost of great toxicity. In the adjuvant setting, MC is used to intensify adjuvant chemotherapy and, more promisingly, as maintenance therapy for high-risk patients, especially those with no pC R after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Considering the dismal prognosis of TNBC, any strategy that potentially improves outcomes, specially being the oral agents broadly available and inexpensive, should be considered and certainly warrants further exploration. Finally, the benefit of MC needs to be validated in properly designed clinical trials were the selection of the population is the key.
