Optimising multi-vent module-based adaptive ventilation using a novel parameter for improved indoor air quality and health protection

As infectious respiratory diseases are highly transmissible through the air,researchers have improved traditional total volume air distribution systems to reduce infection ***-vent module-based adaptive ventilation(MAV)is a novel ventilation type that facilitates the switching of inlets and outlets to suit different indoor scenarios without changing ductwork ***,little research has evaluated MAV module sizing and air velocity selection,both related to MAV system efficiency in removing contaminants and the corresponding level of protection for occupants in the ventilated ***,the module-source offset ratio(MSOR)is proposed,based on the MAV module size and its distance from an infected occupant,to inform selection of optimal MAV module *** fluid dynamics simulations illustrated contaminant distribution in a two-person MAV equipped *** phase particles modelled respiratory contaminants from the infected occupant,and contaminant concentration distributions were compared under four MAV air distribution layouts,three air velocities,and three module sizes considered using the *** indicate that lower air velocities favour rising contaminant levels,provided the ventilation rate is *** contaminant discharge can be achieved when the line of outlets is located directly above the infected *** this parameter to guide MAV system design,85.7% of contaminants may be rendered harmless to the human body within 120 s using the default air vent layout.A more appropriate supply air velocity and air vent layout increases this value to 91.4%.These results are expected to inform the deployment of MAV systems to reduce airborne infection risk.

Acoustic source localization(ASL)and sound event detection(SED)are two widely pursued independent research *** recent years,in order to achieve a more complete spatial and temporal representation of sound field,sound event localization and detection(SELD)has become a very active research *** paper presents a deep learning-based multioverlapping sound event localization and detection algorithm in three-dimensional ***-Mel spectrum and generalized cross-correlation spectrum are joined together in channel dimension as input *** features are classified and regressed in parallel after training by a neural network to obtain sound recognition and localization results *** channel attention mechanism is also introduced in the network to selectively enhance the features containing essential information and suppress the useless ***,a thourough comparison confirms the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed SELD *** experiments show that the proposed algorithm is robust to reverberation and environment and can achieve higher recognition and localization accuracy compared with the baseline method.

Planning of DC Electric Spring with Particle Swarm Optimization and Elitist Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm

This paper addresses the planning problem of parallel DC electric springs (DCESs). DCES, a demand-side management method, realizes automatic matching of power consumption and power generation by adjusting non-critical load (NCL) and internal storage. It can offer higher power quality to critical load (CL), reduce power imbalance and relieve pressure on energy storage systems (RESs). In this paper, a planning method for parallel DCESs is proposed to maximize stability gain, economic benefits, and penetration of RESs. The planning model is a master optimization with sub-optimization to highlight the priority of objectives. Master optimization is used to improve stability of the network, and sub-optimization aims to improve economic benefit and allowable penetration of RESs. This issue is a multivariable nonlinear mixed integer problem, requiring huge calculations by using common solvers. Therefore, particle Swarm optimization (PSO) and Elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) were used to solve this model. Considering uncertainty of RESs, this paper verifies effectiveness of the proposed planning method on IEEE 33-bus system based on deterministic scenarios obtained by scenario analysis.

Recently,immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)and poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase inhibitors(PARPi)have played a pivotal role in prolonging the recurrence-free survival of patients with ovarian cancer(OC).1,2 Although PARPi have revolutionized the treatment of OC,the absence of reliable predictive biomarkers limits the broad application of ICIs for patients with homologous recombination(HR)deficiency(HRD).3 CXC-chemokine ligand 13(CXCL13)is a cytokine constitutively secreted in the stromal cells of the B-cell region of secondary lymphoid tissue.4 It exclusively binds to the chemokine receptor CXCR5,which is abundantly expressed in subsets of mature circulating B lymphocytes,follicular helper T cells,and skin-derived dendritic cells,and governs the migration of these cells into secondary lymphoid organs in response to the CXCL13 gradient.5 In this study,we aimed to elucidate the role of CXCL13 in shaping the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME)in HR-deficient OC and to explore its relationship with the cGAS-STING signaling pathway.

珠江冲淡水对南海北部的物理、化学以及生物特性具有十分重要的意义。本文以1993至2012年连续20年的FVCOM(The Finite Volume Community Ocean Model)模型后报模拟数据为基础,将海表盐度32等值线与岸线所围面积定义为珠江冲淡水的扩展范围,对珠江冲淡水在夏季(6月、7月和8月)的年际变化特征进行研究,并分析了南海季风和珠江径流量等因素对珠江冲淡水的影响。在西南风和较大的珠江径流量的作用下,夏季是珠江冲淡水同时向粤西和粤东两侧扩展的唯一季节,冲淡水扩展范围最大,且夏季珠江冲淡水的扩展形态和扩展面积具有明显的年际变化特征,1994年的东风异常极大增强了冲淡水的西向扩展。通过对2008年台风“风神”的分析,发现热带气旋引起的表层对流和垂向混合对珠江冲淡水具有明显的作用,但是由于其持续时间较短,对年际变化的影响并不显著。1998年夏季的强厄尔尼诺事件导致6月、7月和8月均出现了西南风异常,强西南风阻碍了冲淡水的西向扩展,促进了区域的上升流和表层流。

物种分布模型是一种基于环境条件和物种分布数据预测物种在不同环境中的分布范围和适宜生境的模型工具，主要包括关联模型、机理模型和机理-关联混合模型。在海洋领域，物种分布模型已被广泛应用于预测鱼类、哺乳类和藻类等海洋生物的分布，但在大型底栖动物中的应用还比较匮乏。大型底栖动物作为海洋生态系统的重要组成部分，研究其分布规律对生态保护和资源管理具有重要意义。本文对物种分布模型的常用方法进行了总结，介绍了不同模型在预测海洋大型底栖动物分布中的研究案例，重点介绍了关联模型和机理模型在分析气候变化对海洋大型底栖动物分布影响中的应用，阐述了物种分布模型面临的挑战以及发展前景。随着遥感技术和建模方法的不断进步，物种分布模型将在海洋生态学研究中发挥更加重要的作用，为应对气候变化和保护海洋生物多样性提供科学依据。

Bioinformatics analysis and experimental validation of cystathionine-gamma-lyase as a potential prognosis biomarker in hepatocellular carcinoma

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a common malignant tumor with poor prognosis and high mortality *** cystathionine-gamma-lyase(CSE)plays an important role in the development of multiple tumors,the clinical implication and potential mechanisms of CSE in HCC development remain ***:In our study,the CSE expression in HCC was analyzed in Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)and The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)datasets and further conﬁrmed by RT-qPCR and immunohistochemistry assays in HCC ***,the associations between CSE expression and HCC malignancy as well as survival were analyzed in GSE14520 and validated in HCC ***,the biological functions of CSE in HCC cells was assessed by CCK-8,ﬂow cytometry and Western ***:Lower transcriptional and proteomic CSE expressions were found in HCC tissues in contrast to adjacent normal *** CSE mRNA expression was signiﬁcantly associated with advanced clinicopathological features and poor outcomes in HCC patients from public database and our *** univariate and multivariate analyses of GSE14520 data showed that CSE expression was an independent prognostic indicator for the overall survival(OS)and recurrence-free survival(RFS)of HCC *** vitro experiments further explained that CSE might trigger HCC cell apoptosis by ***:In summary,the present study identiﬁed the relationship between CSE expression and HCC malignancy as well as OS and RFS,indicating that CSE might be a potential prognostic biomarker and a novel therapeutic target for HCC.

Background:A quality diet and an active lifestyle are both important cornerstones of cardiovascular disease(CVD)***,despite their interlinked effects on metabolic health,the 2 behaviors are rarely considered jointly,particularly within the context of CVD *** examined the independent,interactive,and joint associations of diet and physical activity with CVD hospitalization,CVD mortality,and all-cause ***:CVD-free Australian participants aged 4574 years(n=85,545)reported physical activity,diet,sociodemographic,and lifestyle characteristics at baseline(20062009)and follow-up(20122015),and data were linked to hospitalization and death registries(03/31/2019 for CVD hospitalization and all-cause mortality and 12/08/2017 for CVD mortality).Diet quality was categorized as low,medium,and high based on meeting dietary *** activity was operationalized as(a)total moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA)as per guidelines,and(b)the composition of MVPA as the ratio of vigorous-intensity physical activity(VPA)to total *** used a left-truncated cause-specific Cox proportional hazards model using time-varying ***:During a median of 10.7 years of follow-up,6576 participants were admitted to the hospital for CVD and 6581 died from all causes(876 from CVD during 9.3 years).A high-quality diet was associated with a 17%lower risk of all-cause mortality than a low-quality diet,and the highest MVPA category(compared with the lowest)was associated with a 44%and 48%lower risk of CVD and all-cause mortality,*** interactions between diet and physical activity were *** all outcomes,the lowest risk combinations involved a high-quality diet and the highest MVPA *** for total MVPA,some VPA was associated with further risk reduction of CVD hospitalization and all-cause ***:For CVD prevention and longevity,one should adhere to both a healthy d
