Effects of acid-rock reaction on physical properties during CO_(2)-rich industrial waste gas(CO_(2)-rich IWG)injection in shale reservoirs

"Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality"is an essential national strategy,and the geological storage and utilization of CO_(2)is a hot issue today.However,due to the scarcity of pure CO_(2)gas sources in China and the high cost of CO_(2)capture,CO_(2)-rich industrial waste gas(CO_(2)-rich IWG)is gradually emerging into the public's gaze.CO_(2)has good adsorption properties on shale surfaces,but acidic gases can react with shale,so the mechanism of the CO_(2)-rich IWG-water-shale reaction and the change in reservoir properties will determine the stability of geological storage.Therefore,based on the mineral composition of the Longmaxi Formation shale,this study constructs a thermodynamic equilibrium model of water-rock reactions and simulates the regularity of reactions between CO_(2)-rich IWG and shale minerals.The results indicate that CO_(2)consumed 12%after reaction,and impurity gases in the CO_(2)-rich IWG can be dissolved entirely,thus demonstrating the feasibility of treating IWG through water-rock reactions.Since IWG inhibits the dissolution of CO_(2),the optimal composition of CO_(2)-rich IWG is 95%CO_(2)and 5%IWG when CO_(2)geological storage is the main goal.In contrast,when the main goal is the geological storage of total CO_(2)-rich IWG or impurity gas,the optimal CO_(2)-rich IWG composition is 50%CO_(2)and 50%IWG.In the CO_(2)-rich IWG-water-shale reaction,temperature has less influence on the water-rock reaction,while pressure is the most important parameter.SO2 has the greatest impact on water-rock reaction in gas.For minerals,clay minerals such as illite and montmorillonite had a significant effect on water-rock reaction.The overall reaction is dominated by precipitation and the volume of the rock skeleton has increased by 0.74 cm3,resulting in a decrease in shale porosity,which enhances the stability of CO_(2)geological storage to some extent.During the reaction between CO_(2)-rich IWG-water-shale at simulated temperatures and pressures,precipitation is the main reaction,and shale porosity decrease

Stretchable and self-healing conductive fibers from hierarchical silver nanowires-assembled network

Conductive fibers(CFs)with features of high conductivity,stretchability,self-healability,and electromechanical stability are key components of the increasingly popular wearable electronics.However,since the lack of structural design of conductive network and interfacial interaction between soft polymer and conductive additives,it is still hard to enable CFs to meet above requirements.Here,we describe a facial drawing method from a hydrogel reservoir which is remolded into ultrathin and stretchable CFs with excellent multi-responsive self-healability.The hydrogel reservoir was fabricated in synergy of an ice-templating method and in situ polymerization using the assembled framework as a crosslinker.Relying on the effective fabrication mechanism,the diameter of CFs could be well-tuned from 90 to 400μm by adjusting the dipping depth of the glass rod,accompanied with conductivity increased from 0.75 to 2.5 S/m.Since the hierarchical network structure was well maintained in the CFs,professional performances have been proved on the stretchability and electromechanical stability.The presence of massive hydrogen bonding and Ag–S bond enabled the CFs with excellent self-healability under the conditions of contact,electric field,and near infrared light,respectively.Excitingly,the CFs with high sensing property could be integrated into an advanced textile sensor through an effective healing-induced integration strategy,demonstrating its great potentials as superior two-dimensional(2D)electronic skins.

Secondary positioning of rotationally asymmetric refractive multifocal intraocular lens in a patient with glaucoma:A case report

BACKGROUND Asymmetric multifocal intraocular lenses(IOLs)are now widely used in the modern cataract surgery,providing a good level of visual performance over a range of distances and high postoperative patient satisfaction.We report a case of improved visual quality after shifting the near segment of an asymmetrical multifocal IOL to the superotemporal placement in the dominant eye of a glaucoma patient.CASE SUMMARY A 72-year-old woman with bilateral glaucoma underwent phacoemulsification in the dominant eye(left eye)with implantation of an asymmetrical multifocal IOL.Postoperative uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA)was 0.0 logMAR(20/20 Snellen)and uncorrected near visual acuity(UNVA)was 0.1 logMAR(20/25 Snellen).Two weeks later,the patient presented to our clinic with decreased vision due to migration of lens epithelial cells to IOL anterior surface and edema of corneal endothelial cells.Anterior capsule polishing and superotemporal placement of near segment[+3.00 diopter(D)addition(add)]of IOL were performed.As a result,UDVA at the first week and first year after reposition was 0.0 logMAR(20/20 Snellen),and compared with 0.3 logMAR(20/40 Snellen)in the first week,the UNVA was improved to 0.0 logMAR(20/20 Snellen)one year after surgery.CONCLUSION The postoperative inflammatory reaction and lens epithelial cells proliferation were obvious in this glaucoma patient.Capsule polishing and rotation of the lens were beneficial to the patient,which not only enhanced the patient's vision,but also improved the patient's satisfaction.Therefore,glaucoma patients need to be cautious of implanting multifocal IOLs.Placement of a near segment of an asymmetrical multifocal IOL in the dominant eye should be performed on an individual basis.

Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated transformation of schwertmannite associated with calcium from acid mine drainage treatment

Schwertmannite is an important Fe(Ⅲ)-oxyhydroxysulfate in acid mine drainage (AMD) polluted areas and its stability depends on surrounding environmental factors and previously bound elements.The treatment and neutralization of AMD normally involve the use of lime,which leads to the discharge of abundant Ca in the mining area.Such an environmental disturbance brings up an important and less considered problem of how the reductive transformation of schwertmannite associated with coexisting Ca occurred.Here,the Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated transformation of Ca-adsorbed schwertmannite and subsequent Ca repartitioning behaviors were investigated.Results showed that adsorbed Ca had a weak inhibitory effect on Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated schwertmannite transformation.Release of SO_(4)2-and SEM images both indicated that transformation rates of schwertmannite decreased under the influence of adsorbed Ca.XRD patterns indicated that adsorbed Ca altered schwertmannite transformation pathways and product compositions upon treatment with 0.4 mmol/L Fe(Ⅱ).The end products of Sch notably contained both goethite and lepidocrocite;however,transformation products of SchCa only contained goethite all along.Approximately 33.5%of the surface adsorbed-Ca was released into solution within 6 hr after Fe(Ⅱ) injection.Aqueous Ca behaved in a“first release and then im-mobilization”manner,which indicated dissolution and secondary mineralization drove Ca migration during the Fe(Ⅱ)-mediated transformation of SchCa.Adsorbed Ca blocked the surface sites for subsequent Fe(Ⅱ) adsorption,limited the Fe(Ⅱ)-Fe(Ⅲ) ETAE,and decreased the transformation rates.This work sheds light on the complex geochemical behavior of schwertmannite under the influences of environmental perturbations in AMD environments.

Dear Editor,The novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 rapidly evolutes to increase its infectivity and transmissibility,facilitates its immune escape,impairs vaccine efficacy,and currently causes repeated infections in human,which is mainly determined by the accumulated mutations in spike(S).1 Transmembrane S is a heavily glycosylated protein on the surface of the virion as homotrimer,responsible for binding to human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(hACE2)receptor.2 While the architecture of S trimers has been well studied,how the stability of S is regulated by potential host factors remains unknown.

A Pricing Model of Airbag Options with Discrete Monitoring

In this paper, we propose a pricing model of airbag options with discrete monitoring, time-varying barriers, early exercise opportunities, and other popular features simultaneously. We show that the option value is a viscosity solution of a PDE system. In particular, a closed-form solution is obtained in the classic BlackScholes economy with no early exercise opportunities. For the general case, we develop a numerical algorithm and conduct an extensive numerical analysis after calibrating the model to the CSI 500 index in China. Greek letters, dynamic hedging, and assessment of investing in airbag options are also studied.

Combining Deep Learning with Knowledge Graph for Design Knowledge Acquisition in Conceptual Product Design

The acquisition of valuable design knowledge from massive fragmentary data is challenging for designers in conceptual product design.This study proposes a novel method for acquiring design knowledge by combining deep learning with knowledge graph.Specifically,the design knowledge acquisition method utilises the knowledge extraction model to extract design-related entities and relations from fragmentary data,and further constructs the knowledge graph to support design knowledge acquisition for conceptual product design.Moreover,the knowledge extraction model introduces ALBERT to solve memory limitation and communication overhead in the entity extraction module,and uses multi-granularity information to overcome segmentation errors and polysemy ambiguity in the relation extraction module.Experimental comparison verified the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed knowledge extraction model.The case study demonstrated the feasibility of the knowledge graph construction with real fragmentary porcelain data and showed the capability to provide designers with interconnected and visualised design knowledge.

Optical neural networks have significant advantages in terms of power consumption,parallelism,and high computing speed,which has intrigued extensive attention in both academic and engineering communities.It has been considered as one of the powerful tools in promoting the fields of imaging processing and object recognition.However,the existing optical system architecture cannot be reconstructed to the realization of multi-functional artificial intelligence systems simultaneously.To push the development of this issue,we propose the pluggable diffractive neural networks(P-DNN),a general paradigm resorting to the cascaded metasurfaces,which can be applied to recognize various tasks by switching internal plug-ins.As the proof-of-principle,the recognition functions of six types of handwritten digits and six types of fashions are numerical simulated and experimental demonstrated at near-infrared regimes.Encouragingly,the proposed paradigm not only improves the flexibility of the optical neural networks but paves the new route for achieving high-speed,low-power and versatile artificial intelligence systems.

Background:Diagnosing latent tuberculosis(TB)infection(LTBI)and active TB(ATB)is crucial for preventing disease progression and transmission.However,current diagnostic tests have limitations in terms of accuracy and sensitivity,making it challenging to diagnose these different infection states.Therefore,this study intends to develop a promising biomarker for LTBI and ATB diagnosis to overcome the limitations of the current diagnostic tests.Methods:We developed a novelmultiepitope-based diagnostic biomarker(MEBDB)fromLTBI region of differentiation antigens using bioinformatics and immunoinformatics.Immune responses induced byMEBDM were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent spot and cytometric bead assays.This study was conducted from April 2022 to December 2022 in the SeniorDepartment of Tuberculosis at the 8thMedical Center of PLA General Hospital,China.Blood samples were collected from participants with ATB,individuals with LTBI,and healthy controls(HCs).The diagnostic efficacy of MEBDB was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curves.Results:A novel MEBDB,designated as CP19128P,was generated.CP19128P comprises 19 helper T lymphocyte epitopes,12 cytotoxic T lymphocyte epitopes,and 8 B-cell epitopes.In silico simulations demonstrated that CP19128P possesses strong affinity for Toll-like receptors and elicits robust innate and adaptive immune responses.CP19128P generated significantly higher levels of tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α),interleukin 4(IL-4),and IL-10 in ATB patients(n=7)and LTBI(n=8)individuals compared with HCs(n=62)(P<0.001).Moreover,CP19128P-induced specific cytokines could be used to discriminate LTBI and ATB from healthy subjects with high sensitivity and specificity.Combining IL-2 with IL-4 or TNF-α could differentiate LTBI from HCs(the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve[AUC],0.976[95% confidence interval[CI],0.934-1.000]or 0.986[0.956-1.000]),whereas combining IL-4 with IL-17A or TNF-α could differentiate ATB from HCs(AUC,0.887[0.782-0.993]or 0.984[0.958-1.000])

Elaborately engineering of lipid nanoparticle for targeting delivery of siRNA and suppressing acute liver injury

Small interfering RNA(siRNA)-based gene silencing has been considered as a potential therapy modality against inflammatory diseases.Nevertheless,the effective delivery of siRNA to desired destination still remains challenging due to poor stability,high molecular weight and negative charge.Currently,ionizable lipid nanoparticle(LNP)has been extensively used as vector for effective delivery of siRNA.Herein,we report a mannose-modified LNP(M-MC_(3) LNP@TNFα)loading tumor necrosis factorα(TNFα)siRNA for targeting liver macrophages,achieving effectively inhibit acute liver injury.The M-MC_(3) LNP@TNFαnot only increases the internalization of LNP by macrophages,but also enhances the gene silencing efficiency of TNFαin vitro.Additionally,the M-MC_(3) LNP@TNFαexhibits higher accumulation in liver of healthy mice than that of MC_(3) LNP@TNFα(un-modified LNP)owing to the targeting effect of mannose.As expected,the M-MC_(3) LNP@TNFαsignificantly suppresses the expression of TNFαand ameliorates liver damage in acute liver injury model.Such a LNP targeting siRNA delivery holds great potential for the treatment of diseases associated with liver in the future.
