Objecti.e: To correlate repeti.i.e nerve sti.ulati.n (RNS)- decrement i. di.ferent muscles wi.h the predomi.ant cli.i.al presentati.n i. myastheni. gravi. (MG), and to study si.gle fi.re EMG (SFEMG) sensi.i.i.y i. ocular MG. Methods: Si.ty- ni.e, untreated, consecuti.e pati.nts suspected for MG were observed prospecti.ely for a mi.i.um of 6 months. Those who i.proved on medi.al treatment were di.gnosed as MG. The others, i. whom the neurophysi.logi.al studi.s were normal and that di. not i.prove on medi.al treatment served as a control group, from whi.h normati.e data for RNS and SFEMG was obtai.ed. The MG pati.nts were further classi.i.d i. 3 subgroups accordi.g to the predomi.ant cli.i.al presentati.n: group i.(ocular); group b (bulbar); and group a (axi.l). We performed RNS i. nasali., trapezi.s, anconeus, and abductor di.i.i.mi.i.i. All pati.nts wi.h ocular MG underwent ji.ter determi.ati.n of the orbi.ulari. oculi.muscle. Results: Thi.ty- seven pati.nts were di.gnosed as MG (group i. 15; group b, 13; group a, 9). i. group i. RNS was abnormal i. 33% of the pati.nts. RNS studi.s di.closed at least one abnormal muscle response i. every pati.nt i. groups a and b. Trapezi.s was si.ni.i.antly more sensi.i.e i. group a, and anconeus and nasali. i. group b (P i.ter was abnormal i. all pati.nts i. group i. and the most sensi.i.e parameter was an i.creased number of unstable pai.s, 100% . Conclusi.ns: Based on these observati.ns, we recommend that a shoulder muscle, as the trapezi.s, should be studi.d fi.st i. the li.b- axi.l presentati.n of MG, and the anconeus- nasali. muscles i. predomi.ant bulbar MG. i. ocular MG, RNS i. not sensi.i.e and ji.ter should be performed i. faci.l muscles. Si.ni.i.ance: Thi. paper shows the unequal sensi.i.i.y of several muscles to RNS i. di.ferent forms of MG.

The computeri.ed geochemi.al modeli.g, a useful tool to understand the di.geneti. processes i.fluenci.g the quali.y of hydrocarbon reservoi.s, i. performed by usi.g di.ferent modules of computer codes based on the thermodynami. and chemi.al ki.eti. pri.ci.les and thei. associ.ted parameters. As observed i. the reservoi. li.hofaci.s deposi.ed from the mari.e sedi.ent-gravi.y flows, a case study of di.genesi. i. presented here from the Espíri.o Santo Basi. i. southeastern Brazi.. The study uses the Geochemi.t＇s Workbench（GWB～（TM））, PHREEQC～（TM） and TOUGHREACT～（TM） computati.n packages. The compari.on of performances of these packages demonstrates the convergence of results from the software-based geochemi.al modeli.g wi.h the petrographi. observati.n of di.soluti.n, albi.i.ati.n, kaoli.i.ati.n, and the preci.i.ati.n of calci.e and dolomi.e. Moreover, wi.h li.i.ed data poi.ts, e.g., the sedi.entary petrographi. data acqui.ed from li.i.ed number of boreholes, the computer si.ulati.n establi.hes i.self to be a powerful quanti.ati.e method esti.ati.g the degree and type of di.geneti. alterati.n of turbi.i.e reservoi. bodi.s i. contact wi.h a source of sali.e-water i.flux associ.ted wi.h salt ***, usi.g the li.i.ed petrographi. data poi.ts, the geochemi.al computer-si.ulati.n method can even be uti.i.ed and extrapolated for areas where si.i.ar geologi.al context i. i.terpreted but no borehole data are avai.able. Hence, porosi.y of turbi.i.e reservoi. li.hofaci.s can be predi.ted i. relati.n to the spati.l di.tri.uti.n of di.soluti.n, kaoli.i.ati.n, and albi.i.ati.n of feldspars and authi.eni. carbonate preci.i.ati.n.

Uxi.(Endopleura uchi. i. a plant from the Brazi.i.n Amazon. i. has many bi.logi.al acti.i.i.s that are attri.uted to i.s mai. acti.e component, bergeni. (BG), whi.h has low water solubi.i.y. The ai. of thi. work was to obtai. β-cyclodextri. (β-CD) i.clusi.n complexes of uxi.usi.g lyophi.i.ed cooked ri.e as the soli. substrate. The process was studi.d usi.g a Box–Behnken desi.n wi.h the soluti.n feed rate, molar rati. of β-CD to BG, and ri.e bed load as factors. These factors greatly affected the product bulk densi.y, angle of repose, water content, and BG content, loss, and water solubi.i.y. The opti.um process condi.i.ns determi.ed usi.g a desi.abi.i.y functi.ns methodology were an extract feed rate of 1 mL/mi., a rati. of β-CD to BG of 3:1, and a substrate load of 100 g. The predi.ted values under the opti.um condi.i.ns were close to the experi.ental results of a water content of 5.8%± 0.2%, BG content of 985.7 ± 15.4 μg/g, BG water solubi.i.y of 2230.2 ± 21.1 μg/mL, and BG loss of 1.2%± 0.1%. These results confi.m that spouted beds are an i.portant tool for rapi., one-step preparati.n of pharmaceuti.al β-CD i.clusi.n complexes i. a soli. form.

Duloxeti.e(DUL), an anti.epressant drug, has been detected i. surface water and wastewater effluents, however, there i. li.tle i.formati.n on the formati.n of i.s transformati.n products(TPs). i. thi. work, hydrolysi., photodegradati.n(UV i.radi.ti.n) and chlori.ati.n experi.ents were performed on spi.ed di.ti.lated water, under controlled experi.ental condi.i.ns to si.ulate abi.ti. processes that can occur i. the envi.onment and wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs). Eleven TPs, ni.e from reacti.n wi.h UV li.ht and two from chlori.e contact, were formed and detected by ultra-hi.h performance li.ui. chromatography coupled to quadrupole ti.e-of-fli.ht mass spectrometry, and ni.e of them had thei. chemi.al structures eluci.ated upon analyses of thei. fragmentati.n patterns i. MS/MS spectra. The formati.n and degradati.n of the TPs were observed. The parent compound was completely degraded after30 mi. i. photodegradati.n and after 24 hr i. chlori.ati.n. Almost all TPs were completely degraded i. the experi.ents. The ecotoxi.i.y and mutageni.i.y of the TPs were predi.ted based on several i. si.i.o models and i. was found that a few of these products presented more ecotoxi.i.y than DUL i.self and si. TPs showed posi.i.e mutageni.i.y. Fi.ally, wastewater samples were analyzed and DUL and one TP, possi.ly formed by chlori.ati.n process, were detected i. the effluent, whi.h showed that WWTP not only di. not remove DUL, but also formed a TP.

Premature i.fants, especi.lly those born wi.h less than 1500 g, often exhi.i. slow overall growth. Lack of early nutri.i.nal support i. an i.portant element. The present authors descri.e parenteral nutri.i.nal practi.es i. a terti.ry hospi.al and evaluate postnatal growth of preterm i.fants under 32 weeks of gestati.nal age or wi.h a bi.th wei.ht i.n study, we exami.ed 431 newborn fi.es. Thei. medi.n gestati.nal age was 29.7 weeks. Of them, 25.4% were small for gestati.nal age (SGA). 77.5% recei.ed parenteral nutri.i.n (PN), 54.5% of whi.h was provi.ed on the fi.st day. The average ti.e was 14.7 days. The average wei.ht gai. by the 30th day was 425 g. At di.charge, 37% were rd month 20% had thei. wei.ht under P3, decreasi.g to 10% by the 12th month. Chi.dren who i.i.i.ted PN i. the fi.st 24 hours of li.e had si.ni.i.antly better wei.ht on the 30th day of thei. li.e (p th month of corrected age (p = 0.038). And they had better Body Mass i.dex (BMi. i. the 3rd (p = 0.012) and 12th (p = 0.023) months. Despi.e better feedi.g practi.es, there i. sti.l si.ni.i.ant fai.ure i. post natal growth. Early i.troducti.n of PN was associ.ted wi.h an i.proved wei.ht gai., whi.h suggests that nutri.i.n that i.cluded ami.o aci.s may be cri.i.al duri.g the fi.st 24 hours of li.e.
