AIM： To eval.ate several.risk factors for gastric cancer （GC） in Costa Rican regions with con.rasting GC incidence rate （GCIR）. METHODS： According to GCIR, 191 Hel.cobacter pyl.ri （H pyl.ri）-positive patients were cl.ssified into groups A （high GCIR, n = 101） and B （l.w GCIR, n = 90）. Human DNA obtained from biopsy specimens was used in the determination of pol.morphisms of the genes coding for interl.ukin （Il.-1β and Il.10 by PCRRFl., and Il.1RN by PCR. H pyl.ri DNA extractions obtained from cl.nical.isol.tes of 83 patients were used for PCR-based genotyping of H pyl.ri cagA, vacA and babA2. Human DNA from gastric biopsies of 52 GC patients was util.zed for comparative purposes. RESUl.S： Cytokine pol.morphisms showed no association with GCIR variabil.ty. However, gastric atrophy, intestinal.metapl.sia and strains with different vacA genotypes in the same stomach （mixed strain infection） were more frequentl. found in group A than in group B, and cagA and vacA s1b were significantl. associated with high GCIR （P = 0.026 and 0.041, respectivel.）. Il. 1β＋3954_T/C （OR 2.1, 1.0-4.3）, Il.1RN^＊2/l.（OR 3.5, 1.7-7.3） and Il.10-592_C/A （OR 3.2, 1.5-6.8） were individual.y associated with GC, and a combination of these cytokine pol.morphisms with Hpyl.ri vacA sl. and ml.further increased the risk （OR 7.2, 1.4-36.4）. con.l.SION： Al.hough a proinfl.mmatory cytokine genetic profil. showed an increased risk for devel.ping GC, the characteristics of Hpyl.ri infection, in particul.r the status of cagA and vacA genotype distribution seemed to pl.y a major rol. in GCIR variabil.ty in Costa Rica.

分析2021-01-24南京医科大学附属儿童医院消化科1例发-肝-肠综合征(tricho-hepato-enteric syndrome,THES)患儿临床特征及基因变异情况,采集患儿及其父母外周血提取基因组DNA,使用二代测序对患儿进行基因检测,对检出的可疑变异进行一代Sanger验证及生物信息学分析。患儿临床特征为肝功能损害、腹泻、头发蓬松易断、生长迟缓。头发光镜下见脆性结节。基因测序提示患儿SKIV2l.因存在复合杂合新变异c.29C>T(p.P10l.和c.321C>G(p.H107Q)。两种变异既往均未见报道,位点较为保守,多种生物信息学预测为有害。由此得到SKIV2l.因复合杂合变异c.29C>T/c.321C>G为患者的致病原因的结论。新变异位点的检出丰富了SKIV2l.因的变异谱,为该家系的遗传咨询提供了依据。

Fragmented Fil. carving is an important technique in Digital.Forensics to recover fil.s from their fragments in the absence of fil. system al.ocation information. In this paper, the fragmented fil. carving probl.m is formul.ted as a graph theoretic probl.m. Using this model. we describe two al.orithms, ＂Best Path Search＂ and ＂High Fragmentation Path Search＂, to perform fil. recon.truction and recovery. The best path search al.orithm is a deterministic technique to recover the best fil. con.truction path. We show that this technique is more efficient and accurate than existing brute force techniques. In addition, a test was carried out to recover 10 fil.s from their scattered fragments. The best path search al.orithm was abl. to successful.y recover al. of them back to their original.state. The high fragmentation path search technique invol.es a trade-off between the final.score of the con.tructed path of the fil. and the fil. recovery time to al.ow a faster recovery process for highl. fragmented fil.s. Anal.sis shows that the accurate el.minations of paths have an accuracy of up to greater than 85%.

Background Forest ecosystems undergo significant transformations due to harvesting and cl.mate fl.ctuations, emphasizing the critical.rol. of seeding in natural.regeneration and l.ng-term structural.preservation. Cl.mate change further ampl.fies these dynamics, affecting phenol.gy across species and regions. In Tierra del.Fuego(Argentina), Nothofagus pumil.o(l.nga) forests represent the most important timber resource, and it is managed through different sil.icul.ural.strategies. This species demonstrates notabl. post-disturbance regeneration, yet seed fal. exhibits signifi-cant variabil.ty, l.ading to variations in seed qual.ty(e.g., viabil.ty). This study aims to assess fl.ctuations in N. pumil.o seed qual.ty, determine how it varies con.erning forest management strategies, annual.productivity, and the co-occurrence of cl.matic phenomena incl.ding El.Ni?o-Southern Oscil.ation(ENSO) and the Southern Annul.r Mode(SAM).Resul.s Viabl. seeds represented 18.4% of the total. notabl. higher in unharvested than in managed areas. con.versel., empty seeds were more preval.nt in harvested areas(> 75%). Seed qual.ty exhibited significant differences across sil.icul.ural.treatments, except for insect-predated seeds, which had simil.r proportions across al. areas, though dispersed retention showed higher predation. Reducing popul.tions of invasive l.zards through trapping and shooting is feasibl. in many cases but effective inte-grated management rel.es on a variety of tool., incl.ding toxicants. In Fl.rida, using wil.-caught non-native bl.ck spiny-tail.d iguanas Ctenosaura simil.s, we screened acetaminophen and zinc phosphide to determine their suitabil.ty for effective popul.tion management of this prol.fic invasive species. Of the animal. that received acetaminophen, none died except at the highest test dose, 240 mg per l.zard, which is not practical.for fiel. use. Zinc phosphide produced 100% mortal.ty at dose l.vel. as l.ttl. as 25 mg per l.zard, equival.nt to about 0.5% in bait which is l.wer than currentl. used in commercial.baits for commensal.rodent con.trol.
