Functional gastrointestinal disorders(FGID) are common clinical syndromes diagnosed in the absence of biochemical,structural,or metabolic abnormalities. They account for significant morbidity and health care expenditures and are identifiable across variable age,geography,and culture. Etiology of abdominal pain associated FGIDs,including functional dyspepsia(FD),remains incompletely understood,but growing evidence implicates the importance of visceral hypersensitivity and electromechanical dysfunction. This manuscript explores data supporting the role of visceral hypersensitivity and electromechanical dysfunction in FD,with focus on pediatric data when available,and provides a summary of potential therapeutic targets.

Inflammatory bowel diseases,namely ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease,are chronic and relapsing conditions that pose a growing burden on healthcare systems *** of their complex and partly unknown etiology and pathogenesis,the management of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease can prove challenging not only from a clinical point of view but also for resource *** intelligence,an umbrella term that encompasses any cognitive function developed by machines for learning or problem solving,and its subsets machine learning and deep learning are becoming ever more essential tools with a plethora of applications in most medical *** this regard gastroenterology is no exception,and due to the importance of endoscopy and imaging numerous clinical studies have been gradually highlighting the relevant role that artificial intelligence has in inflammatory bowel diseases as *** aim of this review was to summarize the most recent evidence on the use of artificial intelligence in inflammatory bowel diseases in various contexts such as diagnosis,follow-up,treatment,prognosis,cancer surveillance,data collection,and ***,insights into the potential further developments in this field and their effects on future clinical practice were discussed.

研究了石墨球数为490-1 100个/mm2在280℃和360℃奥氏体等温淬火的ADI基体上沉积PVD-TiN涂层,在300℃用电弧离子喷涂工艺进行沉积,评价了基体显微组织对涂层特性的影响以及沉积过程对奥氏体显微组织产生变化的可能性,检测了试样中存在的相、涂层沉积方向、沉积膜的厚度、硬度、杨氏模量、表面形貌和涂层粘着性,检测了沉积前后奥氏体基体的金相特性和残余奥氏体数量。检测结果表明,PVD-TiN涂层（111）面的初始方向与表面平行,膜的厚度约2μm,基体特性影响努普硬度,其值在1700-2100HK0.015之间,显微硬度值接近25 GPa,杨氏模量有些分散（323～336 GPa）。表面形貌取决于基体显微组织和表面制备方法及所用沉积工艺,按照Rockwell-C粘着试验,涂层的粘着强度级别为HF1-HF2,并且即不受不同基体之间硬度差异的影响也不受石墨球数变化的影响。涂镀后ADI的显微组织变化可以忽略,残余奥氏体的数漫稍有减少。

Renal transplants from older deceased donors: Is preimplantation biopsy useful? A monocentric observational clinical study

AIM To compare survival of kidney transplants from deceased extended criteria donors(ECD) according to:(1) donor graft histological score; and(2) allocation of high score grafts either to single(SKT) or dual(DKT) *** Renal biopsy was performed as part of either a newly adopted DKT protocol, or of surveillance protocol in the past. A total 185 ECD graft recipients were categorized according to pre-implantation graft biopsy into 3 groups: SKT with graft score 1 to 4 [SKT(1-4), n = 102]; SKT with donor graft score 5 to 8 [SKT(> 4), n = 30]; DKT with donor graft score 5 to 7(DKT, n = 53). Graft and patient survival were analyzed by Kaplan-Meier curves and compared by log-rank test. Mean number of functioning graft years by transplant reference, and mean number of dialysis-free life years by donor reference in recipients were also calculated at 1, 3 and 6 years from transplantation. RESULTS There were no statistically significant differences in graft and patient survival between SKT(1-4) and SKT(> 4), and between SKT(> 4) and DKT. Recipient renal function(plasma creatinine and creatinine clearance) at 1 years did not differ in SKT(1-4) and SKT(> 4)(plasma creatinine 1.71 ± 0.69 and 1.69 ± 0.63 mg/dL; creatinine clearance 49.6 + 18.5 and 52.6 + 18.8 m L/min, respectively); DKT showed statistically lower plasma creatinine(1.46 ± 0.57, P 4)]. Meningioma in vivo research is hampered by the difficulty of establishing an easy and reproducible orthotopic model able to mimic the characteristics of a human meningioma. Moreover, leptomeningeal dissemination and high mortality are often associated with such orthotopical models, making them useless for clinical translation studies. An optimized method for inducing meningiomas in nude mice at two different sites is described in this paper and the high reproducibility and low mortality of the models are demonstrated. Skull base meningiomas were induced in the auditory meatus and convexity meningiomas were induced on the brain surface of 23 and 24 nude mice, respectively. Both models led to the development of a mass easily observable by imaging methods. Dynamic contrast enhanced MRI was used as a tool to monitor and characterize the pathology onset and progression. At the end of the study, histology was performed to confirm the neoplastic origin of the diseased mass.

AIM： TO evaluate the association between poly- morphisms XRCC1 Arg194Trp and Arg399GIn and XRCC3 Thr241Met and the risk for chronic gastritis and gastric cancer, in a Southeastern Brazilian population. METHODS： Genotyping by PCR-RFLP was carried out on 202 patients with chronic gastritis （CG） and 160 patients with gastric cancer （GC）, matched to 202 （Cl） and 150 （C2） controls, respectively. RESULTS： No differences were observed among the studied groups with regard to the genotype distribution of XRCC1 codons 194 and 399 and of XRCC3 codon 241. However, the combined analyses of the three variant alleles （194Trp, 399Gin and 241Met） showed an increased risk for chronic gastritis when compared to the GC group. Moreover, an interaction between the polymorphic alleles and demographic and environmental factors was observed in the CG and GC groups. XRCC1 194Trp was associated with smoking in the CG group, while the variant alleles XRCC1 399Gin and XRCC3 241Met were related with gender, smoking, drinking and Hpylori infection in the CG and GC groups. CONCLUSION： Our results showed no evidence of a rela-tionship between the polymorphisms XRCC1 Arg194Trp and Arg399Gln and XRCC3 Thr241Met and the risk of chronic gastritis and gastric cancer in the Brazilianpopulation, but the combined effect of these variants may interact to increase the risk for chronic gastritis, considered a premalignant lesion. Our data also indicate a gene-environment interaction in the susceptibility to chronic gastritis and gastric cancer.

Background: The Sars-Cov-2 pandemic has accelerated the spreading of telemedicine, including TeleNeuroPsychology (TNP). Also in a non-pandemic scenario, TNP gives the advantage of reaching older subjects, which often have mobility or transportation limitations. Previous studies on the feasibility, acceptability and reliability of TNP provide promising indications. However, it remains unclear how elderly populations in Italy welcome this practice, in particular when carried out “direct-to-home” (DTH neuropsychology—DTH-NP), hence without assistance in setting up, i.e., the videoconference, and which tests validated in Italian populations show good comparability between remote (either by voice phone call or videoconference) and face-to-face administration. Aims: Here we present a study protocol aimed at assessing: 1) the recruitment rate in a study on DTH neuropsychological assessment through voice calls or videoconference, 2) the feasibility and acceptability of a DTH neuropsychological assessment, 3) the comparability between DTH and face-to-face neuropsychological assessments. Methods: Fifty-eight older adults (65 - 85 years) were recruited among donors of the Abbiategrasso Brain Bank and will undergo both a face-to-face and a DTH neuropsychological assessment in a counterbalanced cross-over design (Group 1: remote session first;Group 2: face-to-face session first). Recruitment rate will be first evaluated. Then, the responses to an acceptability questionnaire will be compared between the two administration modalities. Finally, the DTH-face-to-face comparability will be evaluated as good reliability of a DTH neuropsychological assessment and agreement between scores obtained in the two modalities. Discussion and Conclusion: This study protocol aims at describing the procedures allowing a more reliable implementation of DTH-NP in the Italian clinical and research contexts.
