Implementation of a Pediatric Emergency Triage System in Xiamen, China

Background：Pediatric emergency rooms （PERs） in Chinese hospitals are perpetually full of sick and injured children because of the lack of sufficiently developed community hospitals and low access to family *** aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical value of a new five-level Chinese pediatric emergency triage system （CPETS）,modeled after the Canadian Triage System and Acuity ***：In this study,we compared CPETS outcomes in our PER relative to those of the prior two-level *** who visited our PER before （January 2013-June 2013） and after （January 2014-June 2014） the CPETS was implemented served as the control and experimental group,*** flow,triage rates,triage accuracy,wait times （overall and for severe patients）,and patient/family satisfaction were compared between the two ***：Relative to the performance of the former system experienced by the control group,the CPETS experienced by the experimental group was associated with a reduced patient flow through the PER （Cox-Stuart test,t =0,P 〈 0.05）,a higher triage rate （93.40% vs.90.75%;χ^2 =801.546,P 〈 0.001）,better triage accuracy （96.32% vs.85.09%;χ^2 =710.904,P 〈 0.001）,shorter overall wait times （37.30 ± 13.80 min vs.41.60 ± 15.40 min;t =11.27,P 〈 0.001）,markedly shorter wait times for severe patients （2.07 [0.65,4.11] min vs.3.23 [1.90,4.36] min;z =-2.057,P =0.040）,and higher family satisfaction rates （94.23% vs.92.21%;x2 =321.528,P 〈 0.001）.Conclusions：Implementing the CPETS improved nurses＇ abilities to triage severe patients and,thus,to deliver the urgent treatments more *** system shunted nonurgent patients to outpatient care effectively,resulting in improved efficiency of PER health-care delivery.

Sequential good lattice point sets for computer experiments

Sequential Latin hypercube designs(SLHDs) have recently received great attention for computer experiments, with much of the research restricted to invariant spaces. The related systematic construction methods are inflexible, and algorithmic methods are ineffective for large designs. For designs in contracting spaces, systematic construction methods have not been investigated yet. This paper proposes a new method for constructing SLHDs via good lattice point sets in various experimental spaces. These designs are called sequential good lattice point(SGLP) sets. Moreover, we provide efficient approaches for identifying the(nearly)optimal SGLP sets under a given criterion. Combining the linear level permutation technique, we obtain a class of asymptotically optimal SLHDs in invariant spaces, where the L1-distance in each stage is either optimal or asymptotically optimal. Numerical results demonstrate that the SGLP set has a better space-filling property than the existing SLHDs in invariant spaces. It is also shown that SGLP sets have less computational complexity and more adaptability.

Research on the influences of motion characteristics of jetting projectile charge under water

Shaped charge warhead is important for enhancing the damage performance of underwater *** paper used finite element analysis software and based on JPC water penetration experiments to examine the influence of liner parameters(wall thickness,material),charge aspect ratio,and stand-off distance on the movement characteristics of JPC in *** findings reveal that the head diameter of the JPC increases and experiences significant erosion after entering the water,the effective length of the JPC in water undergoes two distinct phases:a growth phase and a decrease phase,with the velocity of the JPC decaying *** the liner thickness,stand-off distance and the charge aspect ratio can improve the erosion resistance and the velocity retention capacity of the *** optimal ranges for liner thickness and stand-off distance are 0.0363D_(k) to 0.0545D_(k)(D_(k) is the charge diameter),the stand-off distance should be within 1.0D_(k).After the charge aspect ratio higher than 1.25,the charge structure exerts minimal influence the movement characteristics of the JPC in *** density plays a crucial role in the velocity decay pattern of the JPC during *** with higher densities exhibit superior velocity retention capabilities in water,with the velocity decay pattern converging if the densities are ***,copper,tantalum and tungsten liners are deemed appropriate for underwater shaped charge ***,the results will provide an important reference for the design of underwater shaped charge warhead.

Geological modeling of coalbed methane reservoirs in the tectonically deformed coal seam group in the Dahebian block,western Guizhou,China

The widely spread Carboniferous-Permian coal seam group in southern China has great potential for coalbed methane resources,but the extensively developed tectonically deformed coal seriously restricts its *** the Dahebian block in western Guizhou as the study area,the geological model of coalbed methane reservoirs in the tectonically deformed coal seam group was established,and the spatial distribution pattern of model parameters was clarified by clustering algorithms and factor *** facies model suggests that the main coal body structures in Nos.1,4,and 7 coal seams are cataclastic coal and granulated coal,whereas the No.11 coal seam is dominated by granulated coal,which has larger thicknesses and spreads more *** in situ permeability of primary undeformed coal,cataclastic coal,granulated coal,and mylonitized coal reservoirs are 0.333 mD,0.931 mD,0.146 mD,and 0.099 mD,respectively,according to the production performance analysis *** property model constructed by facies-controlled modeling reveals that Nos.1,4,and 7 coal seams have a wider high-permeability area,but the gas content is lower;the high-permeability area in the No.11 coal seam is more limited,but the gas content is *** results of the self-organizing map neural network and k-means clustering indicate that the geological model can be divided into 6 clusters,the model parameter characteristics of the 6 clusters are summarized by data analysis in combination with 6 factors extracted by factor analysis,and the application of data analysis results in multi-layer coalbed methane co-development is *** study provides ideas for the geological modeling in the tectonically deformed coal seam group and its data analysis.

We study the desorption mechanism of hydrogen isotopes from graphene surface using first-principles calculations,with focus on the effects of quantum *** low temperatures,quantum tunneling plays a dominant role in the desorption process of both hydrogen monomers and *** the case of dimer desorption,two types of mechanisms,namely the traditional one-step desorption in the form of molecules(molecular mechanism),and the two-step desorption in the form of individual atoms(atomic mechanism),are studied and *** the ortho-dimers,the dominant desorption mechanism is found to switch from the molecular mechanism to the atomic mechanism above a critical temperature,which is∼300k and 200k for H and D,respectively.

Efficient Monolithic Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Photovoltaics

Tunable bandgaps make halide perovskites promising candidates for developing tandem solar cells (TSCs),a strategy to break the radiative limit of 33.7%for single-junction solar *** perovskites with marketdominant crystalline silicon (c-Si) is particularly attractive; simple estimates based on the bandgap matching indicate that the efficiency limit in such tandem device is as high as 46%.However,state-of-the-art perovskite/c-Si TSCs only achieve an efficiency of～32.5%,implying significant challenges and also rich *** this review,we start with the operating mechanism and efficiency limit of TSCs,followed by systematical discussions on wide-bandgap perovskite front cells,interface selective contacts,and electrical interconnection layer,as well as photon management for highly efficient perovskite/c-Si *** highlight the challenges in this field and provide our understanding of future research directions toward highly efficient and stable large-scale wide-bandgap perovskite front cells for the commercialization of perovskite/c-Si TSCs.
