The phylogenetic relationships of Osmanthus *** investigated using the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer(ITS) regions and non-coding chloroplast regions(psbA-trnH,trnL-F).The two datasets support the conclusion that Osmanthus is polyphyletic,with some species of the subtribe Oleinae nested within *** didymopetalus *** is nested within the clade formed by species of section Osmanthus in two *** attenuatus ***,*** ***,and *** *** of traditional section Osmanthus are clearly divergent from other accessions,and do not form a monophyletic group with other Osmanthus *** marginatus *** embedded in the clade formed by species of section Osmanthus in the ITS *** cpDNA trees all species of section Osmanthus are placed in the large clade and all species of section Leiolea formed a *** taxonomic incongruence among trees for ITS and cpDNA indicate hybridization,as introgression may have occurred among some species of sections Osmanthus and *** of Osmanthus is discussed in light of molecular and morphological data,and a revised infrageneric classification with three sections(Leiolea,Siphosmanthu,and Osmanthus) is *** section Linocieroides is abandoned and united with section Osmanthus.

FOREST LANDSCAPE PATTERN DYNAMICS OF LUONINGCOUNTY IN henan PROVINCE AND ITS DRIVING FORCES

With the help of ARC/INFOR and ERDAS software, based on the information from forest resources distribution maps and TM images, four indices were chosen to analyze spatial pattern changes of forest landscape of Luoning County, henan Province from 1983 to 1999. The results showed that: 1) The number and total area of patches were rapidly increased with time changes. The fragmentation degree of the landscape was increasing greatly. 2) The area of some forest patch types, especially shrub forest, economic forest, Populus spp. forest, Quercus spp. forest, sparse forest, deserted grassland etc. had been greatly changed. 3) The fragemation degree of each forest patch type became greater from 1983 to 1999. 4) The transition probabilities of deserted forest, economic forest, Pi-nus tabulaeformis forest, Populus spp. forest exceed 85%,Robinia pseuoacacia forest, deserted grassland, 65% and Quercus spp. forest, non-forest, shrub forest had smaller ones, which were 26.5%, 29.1% and 45.3%, respectively. The main transition trends of various patches were non-forest and Quercus spp. forest. During the course of transition, the types that 50% of area was remained were Quercus spp. forest, non-forest and shrub forest. According to above analyses, the main driving forces, such as the management policies, market economy factors and influences of human activities etc. were brought out.

Niche theory is one of the most important ecological theories. It is widely applied to analyzing such phenomena as competition among, and evolution of, urban ecosystem functional modules. This paper describes a study concerning＇different functional modules of kaifeng city urban ecosystem. Niche theory and techniques were used to analyze the changes of these functional modules in the period 1994-2003. The results showed that, in the period 1994-2003：（1） Niche value of the atmospheric environment and urban virescence modules increased, while niche value of the water environment and sound environment modules decreased; （2） niche value of the tertiary industry module increased, niche value of the secondary industry module decreased, while niche value of the primary industry module showed little change; and （3） niche value of the infrastructure, resource distribution, and production ＆ social security modules increased, while niche value of the population module decreased. This study may contribute to macroscopic planning of urban functional modules, economic development, and environmental protection.

We establish the convergence of the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck system to the incompressible Euler equations in this paper. The convergence is rigorously proved on the time interval where the smooth solution to the incompressible Euler equations exists. The proof relies on the compactness argument and the so-called relative-entropy method.

In this paper, all Lie bialgebra structures on the Lie algebras of generalized Witt type are considered. It is proved that, for any Lie algebra W of generalized Witt type, all Lie bialgebras on W are the coboundary triangular Lie bialgebras. As a by-product, it is also proved that the first cohomology group H1(W, W(?)W) is trivial.

Extraction of vegetation fraction information from CBERS images based on VBSI vegetation index in Kaixian county

Based on the mixed pixel model, the vegetation fraction of Kaixian county, china, was extracted with three free CBERS images. VBSI vegetation index suitable for CBERS images constructed with FCD (forest canopy density) model principle was put forward by ITTO (International Tropical Timber Organization) was used, considering the underestimation of vegetation fraction using NDVI in low mountain-hill region influenced by soils and shadows. And vegetation fraction was divided into five categories from low to high in order to study the special variation of vegetation cover. The results show that the vegetation cover of the region is overall good, with an average of 50%. The area of vegetation fraction below 30% accounts for 11.7% of the entire studied area, mainly concentrates in central eastern Kaixian county, where is the major development zone of cities and towns; that between 30% and 60% accounts for 62%; and that higher than 60% accounts for 26%, and mostly locates in northern middle-mountain area.
