A commercially-available sulfonphthalein derivative was demonstrated to be a chemodosimeter for Fe2+ and its sensing behavior was further investigated by UV-vis spectroscopy in aqueous media under the optimum *** the presence of chlorophenol red (CPR) and H2O2,the absorption maximum at 435 nm decreased upon addition of Fe2+,resulting in a significant color change of the CPR solution from yellow to *** chemosensor system did not show significant responses to a series of other metal ions including Al3+,Zn2+,Cd2+,Hg2+,Mn2+,Co2+,Fe3+,Ni2+,Cu2+,La3+,Ce4+,Th4+,Pd2+,Pb2+,Sb3+,Cr3+,Au3+,Ag+,Nd3+,Sm3+,alkali and alkaline earth metal cations,allowing for highly selective naked-eye detection of Fe2+.Quantitative analysis was carried out kinetically for practicable the Fe2+ assay when either fixed time method or the initial rate method was *** the detecting time was set,the decrease of absorbance signal was linear with Fe2+ concentration in the range of 0 to 7.50 × 10-5 mol L-1 and the regression equation was ΔA = 0.00759 + 0.00593CFe with a correlation coefficient r = *** chemodosimetric system has employed an irreversible Fenton reagent-promoted oxidation of the CPR free chromophore and the hydroxyl radicals were generated in the presence of both Fe2+ and hydrogen *** mechanistic interpretation of the signaling process was partially confirmed by the radical scavenging experiment and the FT-IR analysis of the intermediates formed at different reaction periods.

Although the sequence information on G-protein coupled receptors(GPCRs)continues togrow,many GPCRs remain orphaned(*** specificity unknown)or poorly characterized with littlestructural information available,so an automated and reliable method is badly needed to facilitate the identifi-cation of novel *** this study,a method of fast Fourier transform-based support vector machinehas been developed for predicting GPCR subfamilies according to protein’s *** classifyingClass B,C,D and F subfamilies,the method achieved an overall Matthew’s correlation coefficient andaccuracy of 0.95 and 93.3%,respectively,when evaluated using the jackknife *** method achieved anaccuracy of 100% on the Class B independent *** results show that this method can classify GPCRsubfamilies as well as their functional classification with high accuracy.A web server implementing theprediction is available at http://***/blast/Pred-GPCR.

A series of novel molecules with a cyclen(1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane) moiety appended on and bearing different aromatic fragments in the structures were synthesized and *** binding activities of these compounds towards DNA were systematically studied by spectroscopic,viscometric and gel electrophoresis *** results suggest that the stacking interaction plays an important role in improving the DNA binding ability of the *** binding modes of the compounds towards DNA are also affected by the sizes of the aromatic *** binding interaction between binaphthyl compound 1b and several nucleosides was studied by fluorescence *** interaction and hydrophobic interaction play the key role in such non-selective binding process.

TiO2 was prepared by sol-gel method using tetrabutyl titanate as precursor. TiO2 was loaded on Bi12TiO20. The photocatalyst with different TiO2 loading was calcined at 723 K. The photocatalytic activity of decomposition gaseous benzene was investigated in a batch reactor. The prepared photocatalyst was characterized by UV-vis diffuse reflectance. The result showed that TiO2/Bi12TiO20 absorbed much more ultraviolet light than Ti02 in the ultraviolet light region and showed red shift. The results indicated that the prepared photocatalyst can greatly promote the photocatalytic activity. The 2.0% TiO2/Bi12TiO20 system exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity.

In our previous work,we developed a computational tool,PreK-ClassK-ClassKv,to predictand classify potassium (K~+) *** K+ channel prediction (PreK) and classification at family level(ClassK),this method performs ***,it does not perform so well in classifying voltage-gatedpotassium (Kv) channels (ClassKv).In this paper,a new method based on the local sequence information ofKv channels is introduced to classify Kv *** transmembrane domains of a Kv channel protein areused to define a protein,and the dipeptide composition technique is used to transform an amino acid sequenceto a numerical sequence.A Kv channel protein is represented by a vector with 2000 elements,and a supportvector machine algorithm is applied to classify Kv *** method shows good performance withaverages of total accuracy (Acc),sensitivity (SE),specificity (SP),reliability (R) and Matthews correlationcoefficient (MCC) of 98.0%,89.9%,100%,0.95 and 0.94 *** results indicate that the localsequence information-based method is better than the global sequence information-based method to classifyKv channels.

The novel nanocomposites were obtained by covalently linking arginine enantiomers with the sidewall of multi-walled carbon nanotubes,and utilized as sensing materials for biomolecular recognition in electrochemical *** were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and circular dichroism spectroscopy (CD).Nano-gold and Prussian Blue were employed to amplify the analytical signal *** specific antibody/antigen and carcinoembryonic antibody/antigen were used as model *** results showed that the different configurations of nanocomposites could readily facilitate chiral recognition of antibodies,and D-nanocomposites displayed a larger signal.

L-Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid monolayer was prepared on gold electrodes through the self-assembly *** novel thioether-based monolayer could efficiently preconcentrate Cu2+,which provided a simple,stable and reproducible method for the determination of Cu2+.The modified electrodes were stable enough to be continuously used for one week(more than 30 times regeneration) with lower than 10% decrease in the *** retained their initial activity for more than one month if used once a *** calibration curve was linear for Cu2+ from 0.6 to 158.8 μg L?1 with a detection limit of 0.38 μg L?*** relative standard deviation was 3.2% for a series of six successive *** proposed method was applied in the determination of Cu2+ in mineral water and human hair samples.

Many researchers chose triphenyl phosphate (TPP) or its analogues as the flame-retardants of acrylonitrile-butadience-styrene copolymer (ABS). However, it was found that a great amount of TPP evaporated since the evaporation temperature of TPP is lower than the processing temperature of ABS. Therefore, increasing the evaporation temperature of phosphate-containing flame-retardants is ineluctable to enhance their function in the flame retardant ABS. In this study, the evaporation temperature of phosphate was elevated through preparing the nanocomposite of multi-phosphate/montimorillonite(NMP) by the method of in situ polymerization
