As a class of functional crystalline porous materials, metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) gained rapid development in the past three decades and a large number of MOFs with ordered structures, high surface areas, and functionalized channels have been investigated. MOFs and MOF-derived/composite materials show great potential in many application fields. In this review, we discussed the main applications of MOFs and MOF-derived/composite materials in small molecule storage, separation, luminescence, sensing, multitype catalysis, and energy storage. In addition, challenges and problems in the future research of MOFsrelated fields are also discussed.

Background:The use of antibiotic prophylaxis in third molar surgery is still under *** aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the effect of antibiotic prophylaxis in patients undergoing third molar extraction with respect to incidence of postoperative infection. Methods:A literature search was conducted in databases of MEDLINE,EMBASE, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled *** selection,data extraction, quality assessment,and meta-analysis were conducted according to the recommendations by Cochrane collaboration. Results:Ten randomized controlled trials were *** infection occurred in 108/1,402(7.7%)patients in the treatment group and in 155/991(15.6%) patients in the control *** antibiotic therapy was effective in reducing the risk of postoperative infection(odds ratio,0.29;95%confidence interval,0.21-0.41;P<0.001). Conclusions:Antibiotics prophylaxis reduced the risk of postoperative *** patients with the systemic disease were recommended to have evaluation of basic health status before third molar surgery.

Study of Sr–Ca–Si-based scaffolds for bone regeneration in osteoporotic models

Bone tissue engineering has emerged as a promising alternative therapy for patients who suffer bone fractures or defects caused by trauma,congenital diseases or ***,the reconstruction of bone defects combined with osteoporosis remains a great challenge for clinicians and *** on our previous study,Ca–Si-based bioceramics(MSCs)showed enhanced bone formation capabilities under normal conditions,and strontium was demonstrated to be therapeutic in promoting bone quality in osteoporosis ***,in the present study,we attempted to enlarge the application range of MSCs with Sr incorporation in an osteoporotic bone regeneration model to evaluate whether Sr could assist in regeneration *** vitro readout suggested that Sr-incorporated MSC scaffolds could enhance the expression level of osteogenic and angiogenic markers of osteoporotic bone mesenchymal stem cells(OVX BMSCs).Animal experiments showed a larger new bone area;in particular,there was a tendency for blood vessel formation to be enhanced in the Sr-MSC scaffold group,showing its positive osteogenic capacity in bone *** study systematically illustrated the effective delivery of a low-cost therapeutic Sr agent in an osteoporotic model and provided new insight into the treatment of bone defects in osteoporosis patients.

Osteoporosis(OP)is a prevalent metabolic bone *** drug therapy is essential to prevent bone loss in osteoporotic patients,current treatments are limited by side effects and high costs,necessitating the development of more effective and safer targeted *** a zebrafish(Danio rerio)larval model of osteoporosis,we explored the influence of the metabolite spermine on bone *** showed that spermine exhibited dual activity in osteoporotic zebrafish larvae by increasing bone formation and decreasing bone *** not only demonstrated excellent biosafety but also mitigated prednisolone-induced embryonic neurotoxicity and ***,spermine showcased protective attributes in the nervous systems of both zebrafish embryos and *** the molecular level,Rac1 was identified as playing a pivotal role in mediating the antiosteoporotic effects of spermine,with P53 potentially acting downstream of *** findings were confirmed using mouse(Mus musculus)models,in which spermine not only ameliorated osteoporosis but also promoted bone formation and mineralization under healthy conditions,suggesting strong potential as a bonestrengthening *** study underscores the beneficial role of spermine in osteoporotic bone homeostasis and skeletal system development,highlighting pivotal molecular *** their efficacy and safety,human endogenous metabolites like spermine are promising candidates for new anti-osteoporotic drug development and daily bone-fortifying agents.

Background Pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis(AAV)is a life-threatening systemic vasculitis featured by liability to renal ***,there are few studies on the risk factors and predictive models for renal outcomes of AAV in *** Data from 179 AAV children in multiple centers between January 2012 and March 2020 were collected *** risk factors and predictive model of end-stage renal disease(ESRD)in AAV were *** Renal involvement was the most typical manifestation(95.5%),and the crescent was the predominant pathological lesion(84.9%).The estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was evaluated in 114 patients,of whom 59.6%developed ESRD,and the median time to ESRD was 3.20 *** eGFR[P=0.006,odds ratio(OR)=0.955,95%confidence interval(CI)=0.924–0.987]and the percentages of global glomerulosclerosis(pGGS;P=0.018,OR=1.060,95%CI=1.010–1.112)were independent risk factors for ESRD of renal *** on the pGGS and eGFR at renal biopsy,we developed three risk grades of ESRD and one predictive *** Kaplan‒Meier curve indicated that renal outcomes were significantly different in different risk grades(P<0.001).Compared with serum creatinine at baseline,the predictive model had higher accuracy(0.86 versus 0.58,P<0.001)and a lower coefficient of variation(0.07 versus 0.92)in external *** Renal involvement is the most common manifestation of pediatric AAV in China,of which more than half deteriorates into *** predictive model based on eGFR at renal biopsy and the pGGS may be stable and accurate in speculating the risk of ESRD in AAV children.

硝苯地平对人牙龈上皮细胞bcl-2基因表达的影响

目的:体外观察硝苯地平(nifedipine,NIF)对人牙龈上皮细胞(human gingival epithelial cells,HGECs)bcl-2基因转录水平的调节,探讨NIF诱导的药物性牙龈增生(drug-induced gingival overgrowth,DGO)与凋亡抑制基因bcl-2的相关性。方法:采用牙周手术切除的健康牙龈组织,用酶消化法分离培养HGECs;免疫组织化学方法对培养细胞进行细胞鉴定;实时定量PCR技术检测不同浓度NIF(1μg/ml、2μg/ml和3μg/ml)刺激下HGECs中bcl-2 mRNA水平,以0μg/mlNIF为空白对照。采用SPSS 11.0软件包对所得数据进行单因素方差分析。结果:酶消化法获得的HGECs在体外培养中生长状态良好;免疫组织化学显示,HGECs抗角蛋白染色阳性,抗波形蛋白染色阴性;NIF处理24h后的HGECsbcl-2 mRNA水平随NIF浓度的增高而上升,3μg/ml浓度组与空白对照组有显著差异(P<0.05);NIF处理48h后,2μg/ml、3μg/ml浓度组HGECs bcl-2 mRNA水平与空白对照组差异明显(P<0.05)。结论:NIF调节体外培养的HGECs中bcl-2基因转录的水平。

Vascular tissues are very important for providing both mechanical strength and long-distance transport. The molecular mechanisms of regulation of vascular tissue develop- ment are still not fully understood. In this study we identified ANACoo5 as a membrane-associated NAC family transcription factor that regulates vascular tissue development. Reporter gene assays showed that ANACoo5 was expressed mainly in the vascular tissues, increased expression of ANACoo5 protein in transgenic Arabidopsis caused dwarf phenotype, reduced xylem differentiation, decreased lignin content, repression of a lignin biosynthetic gene and genes related to cambium and primary wall, but activation of genes related to the secondary wall. Expression of a dominant repressor fusion of ANACoo5 had overall the opposite effects on vascular tissue differ- entiation and lignin synthetic gene expression. The ANACoo5- GFP fusion protein was localized at the plasma membrane, whereas deletion of the last 20 amino acids, which are mostly basic, caused its nuclear localization. These results indicate that ANACoo5 is a cell membrane-associated transcription factor that inhibits xylem tissue development in Arabidopsis.
