Decoupling of surface and subsurface sutures in the Dabie orogen and a continent-collisional lithospheric-wedging model: Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic evidences of Mesozoic igneous rocks in eastern china

There are significant differences of Nd and Pbisotopic compositions between Mesozoic mafic igneous rocks from the North china Block (NCB) and the South chinaBlock (SCB). Mesozoic mantle-derived igneous rocks fromthe North china Block have very low e Nd values (-15 to -21), and 206Pb/204Pb ratios ( -10 and 206Pb/204Pb > 18.3. The verylow e Nd values (-16 to -20) and 206Pb/204Pb ratios (< 17.3) of the early Cretaceous mafic-ultramafic intrusions developedin the north part of the Dabie orogen (NDZ) suggest that the deep lithosphere underneath the NDZ belongs to the NCBbut not the SCB. Therefore, although the surface suture be-tween the NCB and SCB is located on the north side of theNDZ, the subsurface suture between the NCB and SCBshould be located to the south side of the NDZ. This is con-sistent with the previous suggestion that the subsurface su-ture in the Sulu terrane east of the Tanlu fault was the south displacement, but contradictory to northward continentalsubduction of the SCB. A continent-collisional lithospheric-wedging model can interpret the decoupling of the surface and subsurface sutures in the Dabie-Sulu orogen. After slabbreak-off, the continuing convergence of two continental blocks must increase the compression force acting on the suture zone, which might induce the lithosphere splitting of SCB. Thus, the lower crust and lithospheric mantle on thesouth margin of the NCB can wedge into the north margin of the lithosphere of the SCB along the Dabie-Sulu collisionzone. This process caused the overthrust of the mid-upper continental crust with exhumed ultrahigh pressure meta-morphic (UHPM) rocks and underthrust of the deep litho-sphere of the SCB. It could be an important mechanism re-sponsible for the second rapid cooling and uplifting of theUHPM rocks and lithospheric delamination as well as thecorresponding magmatism in Jurassic in the Dabie *** southward movement of subsurface suture

A Chemiluminescence Optical Fiber Glucose Biosensor Based on Co-immobilizing Glucose Oxidase and Horseradish Peroxidase in a Sol-gel Film

An optical fiber bienzyme sensor based on the luminol chemiluminescent reaction was developed and demonstrated to be sensitive to glucose. Glucose oxidase(GOD) and horseradish peroxidase(HRP) were co-immobilized by microencapsulation in a sol-gel film derived from tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS). The calibration plots for glucose were established by the optical fiber glucose sensor fabricated by attaching the bienzyme silica gel onto the glass window of the fiber bundle. The linear range was 0 2-2 mmol/L and the detection limit was approximately 0 12 mmol/L. The relative standard deviation was 5.3% ( n =6). The proposed biosensor was applied to glucose assay in ofloxacin injection successfully.

A series of ruthenium(II) complexes Ru(fppz)2(CO)L [fppz = 3-trifluoromethyl-5(2-pyridyl)pyrazole; L = pyridine (1), 4-dimethylaminopyridine (2), 4-cyanopyridine (3)] were designed and investigated theo-retically to explore their electronic structures, absorption, and emissions as well as the solvatochrom-ism. The singlet ground state and triplet excited state geometries were fully optimized at the B3LYP/LANL2DZ and CIS/LANL2DZ level, respectively. The HOMO of 1-3 is composed of dyz(Ru) atom and π(fppz). The LUMO of 1 and 2 is dominantly contributed by π*(fppz) orbital, but that of 3 is con-tributed by π*(L). Absorption and phosphorescence in vacuo, C6H12, and CH3CN media were calculated using the TD-DFT level of theory with the PCM model based on the optimized ground and excited state geometries, respectively. The lowest-lying absorption of 1 and 2 at 387 and 391 nm is attributed to {[dyz(Ru) + π(fppz)] → [π*(fppz)]} transition, but that of 3 at 479 nm is assigned to {[dyz(Ru) + π(fppz)] → [π*(L)]} transition. The phosphorescence of 1 and 2 at 436 and 438 nm originates from 3{[dyz(Ru) + π(fppz)] [π*(fppz)]} excited state, while that of 3 at 606 nm is from 3{[dyz(Ru) + π(fppz)] [π*(L)]} excited state. The calculation results showed that the absorption and emission transition character can be changed from MLCT/ILCT to MLCT/LLCT transition by altering the substituent on the L ligand. The phosphorescence of 1 and 2 does not have solvatochromism, but that of 3 at 606 nm (vacuo), 584 nm (C6H12), and 541 nm (CH3CN) is strongly dependent on the solvent polarity, so introducing elec-tron-withdrawing group on ligand L will induce remarkable solvatochromism.

Expression and Identification of Mutated Osteoprotegerin in Culture Cells and Larvae of Silkworm

The mutated osteoprotegerin (OPG-372) gene was inserted into the baculovirus transfer vector pBacPAK8, and the recombinant plasmid was co-transfected with linearized Bm-BacPAK6 virus DNA into BmN cells, then homologous recombination occurred inside the cells. The recombinant virus BmNPV-OPG- 372 was screened and identified by Southern blotting. The recombinant human OPG-372 was expressed in cultured cells and the larvae of silkworm by inoculation of recombinant virus. The expression products were run on the SDS-PAGE and their immunoreactivities were determined by Western blotting. It was found that a 42 kD recombinant protein was expressed in BmN cells and a 46 kD one in larvae respectively. The bioactivi- ties of the recombinant proteins were determined by hypocalcemic effect assay in the mice. The results showed that the recombinant proteins had a significant hypocalcemic effect on mice sera.

Static shape control of a flat shell structure

The eight-node and forty-DOF piezoelectric shell element were applied to shape control of a flat shell structure. By the direct and converse effects, a distributed piezoelectric sensor layer was used to monitor the shape deformation and a distributed actuator layer was used to suppresse the deflection. A finite element model was for static response of laminated shell with piezoelectric sensors/actuators was derived. The model was verified by calculating piezoelectric polymeric PVDF bimorph beam. The results are in good agreement with those obtained by theoretical analysis of Tzou and Hwang . A case study of the static shape control of a flat shell structure is presented.

Phosphorus Concentration and Forms in Surface and Subsurface Drainage Water from Wetland Rice Fields in the Shaoxing Plain

Phosphorus (P) is the limiting factor for eutrophication in most freshwater ecosystems. In china, Ptransported from intensively cultivated land has been reported as an important source of P in surface *** this study, we investigated P concentration and forms in surface and subsurface drainage from wetland ricefields in the Shaoxing plain, Zhejiang Province, china. From selected rice fields, surface drainage sampleswere collected at rice-growing, non-growing and fertilization periods, and subsurface drainage samples atdrought and rewetting (irrigation or precipitation after 5～10 d drought period in the surface soils) and wet(drainage under long-term wet soil condition) periods. Water samples were characterized for their totalreactive P (TRP), dissolved reactive P (DRP) and particulate reactive P (PRP). Concentrations of the TRPand DRP in the surface drainage ranged from 0.08 to 1.50 and 0.06 to 1.27 mg L-1, respectively. The TRPand DRP were dependent on field operation activities, and decreased in the order of fertilization period ＞rice-growing period ＞ non-growing period. Phosphorus concentration of runoff receiving P fertilizer can bean environmental concern. The PRP concentration in the surface drainage, ranging from 0.01 to 0.57 mgL-1, accounted for 8%～78% of the TRP. Concentration of the TRP in the subsurface drainage was from0.026 to 0.090 mg L-1, consisting of 29%～90 % of the DRP and 10%～71% of the PRP. In the droughtand rewetting period, the PRP accounted for, on average, 63% of the TRP, much higher than in the wetperiod (23%), suggesting that there was transport of P in preferential flow during drainage events after ashort-term drought period in the surface soils. Therefore, P losses in particulate form may be importantin the subsurface drainage from rice fields when surface soils form cracks and favor rapid flow downwardthrough the soil profiles, suggesting the important role of water-dispersible colloid particles in mediating andco-transporting P in

Characteristics of low-frequency oscillation intensity of airsea turbulent heat fluxes over the northwest Pacific

Based on the daily turbulent heat fluxes and related meteorological variables datasets (1985-2006) from Objectively Analyzed air-sea Fluxes (OAFlux) Project of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), characteristics of low-frequency oscillation intensity of air-sea turbulent heat fluxes over the northwest Pacific are analyzed by linear perturbation method and correlation analysis. It can be concluded that: 1) the distribution of low-frequency oscillation intensity of latent heat flux (LHF) over the northwest Pacific is mainly affected by that of low-frequency oscillation intensity of anomalous air-sea humidity gradient (Δq′) as well as mean air-sea humidity gradient ( Δ q), while the distribution of low-frequency oscillation intensity of sensible heat flux (SHF) is mainly affected by that of low-frequency oscillation intensity of anomalous air-sea temperature gradient (ΔT′). 2) The low-frequency oscillation of turbulent heat fluxes over the northwest Pacific is the strongest in winter and the weakest in summer. And the seasonal transition of low-frequency oscillation intensity of LHF is jointly influenced by those of low-frequency oscillation intensity of Δq′, low-frequency oscillation intensity of anomalous wind speed (U′), Δ q and mean wind speed (U ), while the seasonal transition of low-frequency oscillation intensity of SHF is mainly influenced by those of low-frequency oscillation intensity of ΔT′ and U . 3) Over the tropical west Pacific and sea areas north of 20°N, the low-frequency oscillation of LHF (SHF) is mainly influenced by atmospheric variables qa′ (Ta′) and U′, indicating an oceanic response to overlying atmospheric forcing. In contrast, over the tropical eastern and central Pacific south of 20°N, qs′ (Ts′) also greatly influences the low-frequency oscillation of LHF (SHF).

EVALUATION OF GEOCHEMICAL QUALITY CONTROLIN DETERMINATION OF Mn IN SOILS USING A SEQUENTIAL CHEMICAL EXTRACTION

Sequential chemical extraction procedure has been widely used to partition particulate trace metals into various fractions and to describe the distribution and the statue of trace metals in geo environment. One sequential chemical extraction procedure was employed here to partition various fractions of Mn in soils. The experiment was designed with quality controlling concept in order to show sampling and analytical error. Experimental results obtained on duplicate analysis of all soil samples demonstrated that the precision was less than 10%(at 95%confidence level). The accuracy was estimated by comparing the accepted total concentration of Mn in standard reference materials (SRMs) with the measured sum of the individual fractions. The recovery of Mn from SRM1 and SRM2 was 94.1%and 98.4%, respectively. The detection limit, accuracy and precision of the sequential chemical extraction procedure were discussed in detailed. All the results suggest that the trueness of the analytical method is satisfactory.

Problems in wavelet analysis of hydrologic series and some suggestions on improvement

Applying the wavelet theory and methods to investigate the hydrologic processes such as precipitation and runoff is a hot field. However, several aspects in research are usually ignored: the effect of admissible condition of wavelet functions and the disturbance of noises for the detection of periods, the effect of the length of a hydrologic time-series on the final result, and the choice between the anomaly and the original time series for wavelet analysis. In this paper, these issues are fully discussed. Precipitation data from Lanzhou Precipitation Station are taken for case study. The result indicates that in the wavelet analysis of hydrologic series, denoise methods should be used to eliminate the influence of noises. The MexHat wavelet function satisfies the admissible condition, which ensures that the periodic properties of hydrologic processes can be well represented by using the MexHat wavelet for decomposition. The affected range of hydro-logic series which should be discarded before analysis is given. It is also suggested that the anomaly series should be used to highlight the actual undulation of the hydrologic series.
