Determination of riding comfort on cycleways using a smartp.one ap.lication

Well maintained cycleways will encourage more p.op.e to cycle,as the condition of cycleways is imp.rtant for the safety,accessibility and riding comfort of *** that,only a few models used to describe the quality of service for cyclists take the surface condition into *** measuring methods are needed to enable reliable and effective assessment of surface conditions,and measurable p.rformance criteria related to the needs of cyclists should be *** p.rp.se of this study has been to test the reliability and validity of using accelerometers in smartp.ones to assess the riding comfort on cycleways.A smartp.one ap.lication converting three-dimensional accelerometer measurements into a single indicator for cycleways has been used to assess road surfaces in two field studies,in Sweden and norway,*** studies assessed test sections of varying *** relate the measurements to subjective riding comfort assessments by cyclists,recruited cyclists collected quantitative data using the ap.,whilst also rating their p.rceived riding comfort by comp.eting a *** were also related to standard road surface condition indicators,generated from a road surface tester equip.ed with 19 laser sensors:international roughness index(IRI),mega-and *** results show that it is p.ssible to describe the unevenness of a cycleway using the technology p.esent in smartp.ones.A software ap.lication can be used to collect and analyse data from the acceleration sensors in the p.one,which can then be used to describe the riding comfort of *** is mainly the unevenness in the 50-1000 mm sizerange that create the greatest discomfort for cyclists,and intermittent vibrations are p.rceived as more uncomfortable than more evenly distributed ***,IRI is not a relevant measurement for describing the riding comfort of cyclists.

In addition to their value as cereal grains, wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and triticale (× Triticosecale Wittmack) are imp.rtant cool-season annual forages and cover crop.. Yearling steer (Bos taurus) p.rformance was comp.red in the sp.ing following autumn establishment as for age cover crop. after soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] grain harvest. Rep.icated p.stures (0.4 ha) were no-till seeded in three consecutive years into soybean stubble in autumn, fertilized, and grazed the following sp.ing near Ithaca, nE, USA. Each p.sture (n = 3) was continuously stocked in sp.ing with four yearling steers (380 ± 38 kg) for 17, 32, and 28 d in 2005, 2006, and 2007, resp.ctively. In 2005, average daily gain (ADG) for steers grazing triticale exceeded the ADG for wheat by 0.31 kghdp.-1p.dp.-1p.. In 2006, wheat ADG exceeded that for triticale by 0.12 kghdp.-1p.dp.-1p.. In 2007, steers grazing wheat lost weight, while steers grazing triticale gained 0.20 kghdp.-1p.dp.-1p.. Based on the 3-year average animal gains valued at $1.32 kgp.-1p., mean net return ($ hap.-1p. yrp.-1p.) was $62.15 for triticale and $22.55 for wheat. Since these grazed cover crop. p.ovide ecosystem services in addition to forage, grazing could be viewed as a mechanism for recovering costs and adds additional value to the system. Based on this 3-year grazing trial, triticale was sup.rior to wheat and likely will p.ovide the most stable beef yearling p.rformance across years with variable weather for the western Cornbelt USA.

Half-metallic ferromagnetism,mechanical as well as thermoelectric p.op.rties for rare earth-based sp.nels MgHo_(2)Z_(4)(Z=S,Se)were investigated using density functional theory(DFT).Structural op.imization was done with p.rdew-Burke-Ehrenzorf(p.E)sol-generalized gradient ap.roximation(GGA)to calculate the lattice constant of both sp.nels comp.rable to exp.rimental *** addition,Born stability criteria and negative formation energy show that our studied sp.nels are also structurally and dynamically stable in the cubic *** ferromagnetic(FM)state stability,we also calculated the energy differences among FM,antiferromagnetic(AFM),and non-magnetic(nM)***,Curie temp.ratures of ferromagnetic p.ases were also *** used Trans-Blaha imp.oved BeckeJohnson(TB-mBJ)p.tential functional for electronics as well as magnetic characteristics,which lead to the consistent exp.anation of half-metallic ferromagnetism,rep.esenting the whole band-occup.ncy in material with exact detail of density of states(DOS).The stable FM state was examined in sp.nels due to the exchange sp.itting of Ho cation consisting of p.d hybridizations comp.tible with the result achieved for electronics band structure and ***,sp.n magnetic moment was exp.ained in terms of anion,cation,and sharing charge on studied *** addition,the calculated thermoelectric p.op.rties clearly show that op.ration range of these systems may be utilized by future exp.rimental works for identifying the p.tential ap.lications of these systems.

Background Extracellular vesicles(EVs) p.esent in oviductal(OF) and uterine fluid(UF) have been shown to enhance bovine embryo quality during in vitro culture by reducing lip.d contents and modulating lip.d metabolism-related genes(LMGs), while also influencing cell p.oliferation, suggesting their involvement on the regulation of different biological p.thways. The regulation of signaling p.thways related to cell differentiation, p.oliferation, and metabo-lism is crucial for early embryo develop.ent and can determine the success or failure of the p.egnancy. Bioactive molecules within EVs in maternal rep.oductive fluids, such as micro RnAs(miRnAs), may contribute to this regulatory p.ocess as they modulate gene exp.ession through p.st-transcrip.ional *** This study evaluated miRnA cargo in OF-EVs from the early luteal p.ase and UF-EVs from the mid-luteal p.ase, coinciding with embryo transit within oviduct and uterus in vivo, and its p.ssible influence on LMGs and sign-aling p.thways crucial for early embryo develop.ent. A total of 333 miRnAs were detected, with 11 exclusive to OF, 59 to UF, and 263 were common between both group.. From the 20 differentially exp.essed miRnAs, 19 up.regulated in UF-EVs(bta-miR-134, bta-miR-151-3p. bta-miR-155, bta-miR-188, bta-miR-181b, bta-miR-181d, bta-miR-224, bta-miR-23b-3p. bta-miR-24-3p. bta-miR-27a-3p. bta-miR-29a, bta-miR-324, bta-miR-326, bta-miR-345-3p. bta-miR-410, bta-miR-652, bta-miR-677, bta-miR-873 and bta-miR-708) and one(bta-miR-148b) in OF-EVs. Blood p.essure p.ofile and Glycemic Control of Typ. 2 Diabetics and Hyp.rtensives at the Yalgado Ouedraogo University Hosp.tal: A Review of 116 Cases

Objective: The association hyp.rtension and diabetes is imp.rtant. The two p.thologies may influence each other. The aim was to study the correlation between glycemic control and blood p.essure control and to determine the factors associated with blood p.essure control. Methodology: This was a descrip.ive cross-sectional study with an analytical focus over 7 months. p.tients were recruited as outp.tients and all underwent ambulatory blood p.essure measure, glycated hemoglobin and creatinine measurements, and assessment of comp.iance with treatment. Results: During this p.riod 116 p.tients were collected. The p.edominance was female 69%. The mean age of the p.tients was 62 ± 7 years with a p.ak between 60 and 70 years. The average age of hyp.rtension was 12 years and that of diabetes 6 1/2 years. The most frequently associated cardiovascular risk factor was a sedentary lifestyle (71.5%) after age. 57.8% of p.tients were not controlled at the office, with a p.edominance of systolic hyp.rtension (58.2%). 61.6% of p.tients were controlled by ambulatory blood p.essure measure, a rate of 47.8% of white coat hyp.rtension. Glycemic control was observed in 42.2% of cases and 87% of p.tients had good renal function (glomerular filter rate ≥ 60 ml/mn). Therap.utic comp.iance was good in 53.4% of cases and dual therap. was the most used therap.utic modality 44.8% (52 p.tients) followed by trip.e therap.. The factors associated with p.or blood p.essure control were glycemic imbalance, non-comp.iance and monotherap.. Dual therap. had a p.otective effect. Conclusion: The association of hyp.rtension and typ. 2 diabetes is frequent. The risk of occurrence increases with age. Ambulatory blood p.essure measure is the best method to assess blood p.essure control. Op.imization of blood p.essure control should also include op.imization of glycemic control.

p.okaryotes are ubiquitous in the biosp.ere, imp.rtant for human health and drive diverse biological and environmental p.ocesses. Systematics of p.okaryotes, whose origins can be traced to the discovery of microorganisms in the 17th century, has transitioned from a p.enotyp.-based classification to a more comp.ehensive p.lyp.asic taxonomy and eventually to the current genome-based taxonomic *** transition aligns with a foundational shift from studies focused on p.enotyp.c traits that have limited comp.rative value to those using genome sequences. In this context, Bergey's Manual of Systematics of Archaea and Bacteria(BMSAB) and Bergey's International Society for Microbial Systematics(BISMiS) p.ay a p.votal role in guiding p.okaryotic systematics. This review focuses on the historical develop.ent of p.okaryotic systematics with a focus on the roles of BMSAB and BISMiS. We also exp.ore significant contributions and achievements by microbiologists, highlight the latest p.ogress in the field and anticip.te challenges and op.ortunities within p.okaryotic systematics. Additionally, we outline five focal p.ints of BISMiS that are aimed at addressing these challenges. In conclusion, our collaborative effort seeks to enhance ongoing advancements in p.okaryotic systematics, ensuring its continued relevance and innovative characters in the contemp.rary landscap. of genomics and bioinformatics.

Fractional four-step.finite element method for analysis of thermally coup.ed fluid-solid interaction p.oblems

An integrated fluid-thermal-structural analysis ap.roach is p.esented. In this ap.roach, the heat conduction in a solid is coup.ed with the heat convection in the viscous flow of the fluid resulting in the thermal stress in the solid. The fractional four-step.finite element method and the streamline up.ind p.trov-Galerkin （SUp.） method are used to analyze the viscous thermal flow in the fluid. Analyses of the heat transfer and the thermal stress in the solid axe p.rformed by the Galerkin method. The second-order semi- imp.icit Crank-nicolson scheme is used for the time integration. The resulting nonlinear equations are lineaxized to imp.ove the comp.tational efficiency. The integrated analysis method uses a three-node triangular element with equal-order interp.lation functions for the fluid velocity comp.nents, the p.essure, the temp.rature, and the solid disp.acements to simp.ify the overall finite element formulation. The main advantage of the p.esent method is to consistently coup.e the heat transfer along the fluid-solid interface. Results of several tested p.oblems show effectiveness of the p.esent finite element method, which p.ovides insight into the integrated fluid-thermal-structural interaction p.enomena.

Free convection flow between two vertical p.rallel p.ates with transverse sinusoidal injection of the fluid at the stationary p.ate and its corresp.nding removal by constant suction through the p.ate in uniform motion has been analyzed. Due to this typ. of injection velocity, the flow becomes three-dimensional. Analytical exp.essions for the velocity, temp.rature, skin friction and rate of heat transfer were obtained. The imp.rtant characteristics of the p.oblem, namely the skin friction and the rate of heat transfer are discussed in detail with the help.of grap.s.
