Background:Tobacco use,correlated with reduced physical fitness,is one of the leading causes of avoidable death *** increases the risk of dementia and can shorten the lifespan by 10 *** the German Armed Forces(Bundeswehr),figures on smoking behavior have not been comprehensively *** study analyzes current data in a large sample from this ***:Based on an employee survey as part of the Occupational Health Management system,data on smoking behavior from 13,326 participants were analyzed in relation to age,gender,professional status,education level and membership in military operational units versus other ***:smoking behavior varied significantly(Polder),gender,professional status,military agency membership status,and education level(the lower the education level,the higher the smoking rates).With the exception of the downward trend in smoking behavior with increasing age among civilian employees,these results were all significant(Psions:This data analysis shows that smoking prevalence among personnel in the area of responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Defense is comparable to the current data from corresponding surveys of the German *** on gender,they generally show values that are slightly above those of the German *** well-known trend in the general population of decreasing smoking prevalence with increasing age is also seen in this ***,there are considerable differences in the smoking prevalence among individual subgroups(professional status,agency,gender,education level).The data show that particular young soldiers in the armed forces should be the target group for further preventive measures.

This chapter provides a lithostratigraphic correlation and the present knowledge of the depositional history of the Tertiary succession of the scandinavian countries. The succession records an initial phase of carbonate deposition in the early Paleocene. This was succeeded by deposition of deep marine clays with intercalation of sand-rich mass-flow deposits during most of the Paleocene and Eocene. Volcanic activity in the North Atlantic was extensive at the transition from the Paleocene to the Eocene resulting in widespread sedimentation of ash-rich layers in the North sea area. During the Oligocene, the first prograding deltaic complex developed, sourced from the Fennoscandian shield. Late Oligocene-Early Miocene inversion and uplift of Norway and the shetland Platform resulted in major progradation of coastal and delta plain systems. At the end of the Tertiary most of the North sea basin was filled and the Fennoscandian shield was flanked to the west by a broad, coalesced coastal plain.

Modern software systems are subject to a continuous evolution under frequently varying requirements andchanges in systems＇ operational environments. Lehman＇s law of continuing change demands for long-living and continuouslyevolving software to prolong its productive life and economic value by accommodating changes in existing software. Reusableknowledge and practices have proven to be successful for continuous development and evolution of the software effectivelyand efficiently. However, challenges such as empirical acquisition and systematic application of the reusable knowledge andpractices must be addressed to enable or enhance software evolution. We investigate architecture change logs -- mininghistories of architecture-centric software evolution -- to discover change patterns that 1） support reusability of architecturalchanges and 2） enhance the efficiency of the architecture evolution process. We model architecture change logs as a graphand apply graph-based formalism （i.e., graph mining techniques） to discover software architecture change patterns. Wehave developed a prototype that enables tool-driven automation and user decision support during software evolution. Wehave used the IsO-IEC-9126 model to qualitatively evaluate the proposed solution. The evaluation results suggest that theproposed solution 1） enables the reusability of frequent architectural changes and 2） enhances the efficiency of architecture-centric software evolution process. The proposed solution promotes research efforts to exploit the history of architecturalchanges to empirically discover knowledge that can guide architecture-centric software evolution.

The Miseq FGx^(TM) Forensic Genomics system types 231 genetic markers in one multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) *** markers include core forensic short tandem repeats (sTRs) as well as identity,ancestry and phenotype informative short nucleotide polymorphisms (sNPs).In this work,the Miseq FGx^(TM) Forensic Genomics system was evaluated by analysing reproducibility,sensitivity,mixture identification and forensic phenotyping capabilities of the ***,the genotype calling of the Forenseq^(TM) Universal Analysis software was verified by analysing *** files from the Miseq FGx^(TM) platform using the softwares sTRinNGs and ***,the performance of the Miseq FGx^(TM) Forensic Genomics system was ***,locus and allele drop-outs were relatively frequent at six loci (two sTRs and four human identification sNPs) due to low read depth or skewed heterozygote balances,and the stutter ratios were larger than those observed with conventional sTR genotyping *** risk of locus and allele drop-outs increased dramatically when the amount of DNA in the first PCR was lower than 250 ***-person 50∶1 mixtures were identified as mixtures,whereas 100∶1 and 1000∶1 mixtures were not.Y-chromosomal short tandem repeats (Y-sTRs) alleles were detected in the 100∶1 and 1000∶1 female/male *** Forenseq^(TM) Universal Analysis software provided the data analyst with useful alerts that simplified the analysis of the large number of *** of the alerts were due to user-defined,locus-specific *** results shown here indicated that the default settings should be altered for some ***,recommended changes to the assay and software are discussed.

Hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)s)is a critical component of biogas formed under anaerobic conditions by sulfur and sulfate reducing bacteria from animal manure and renewable energy crops.H_(2)s causes high corrosion in equipment,has a negative environmental impact,inhibits the biogas formation process and is furthermore odorous and *** several methods for internal and external desulfurization found their way into practice and had been explored at laboratory scale,no data were available on the performance of such methods in full scale practice,especially for an external fixed-bed trickling bioreactor(FBTB).The effects of temperature,pH and air ratio on H_(2)s removal efficiency(RE)were *** study was conducted at a research biogas plant with a given output of 96 m^(3) biogas per hour,and an H_(2)s concentration ranging between 500 ppm and 600 ppm(1 ppm=1 cm^(3)/m^(3))on *** FBTB column has been designed to hold a packing volume of 2.21 m^(3) at a gas retention time of 84 seconds being loaded at an average of 32.88 g H_(2)s/(m^(3)·h).The highest H_(2)s RE of 98% was found at temperatures between 30℃ and 40℃.A major decline in RE to 21%-45%was observed at temperatures from 5℃ to 25℃.The results clearly showed a temperature optimum range for sulfate reducing *** results reveal that RE is little affected by different pH values and air *** the experimental period,the practical suitability of the FBTB system could be proved while avoiding the disadvantages of internal biological desulfurization methods.

AIM： To determine circulating and hepatic adiponectin in rodents with fatty liver disease or liver cirrhosis and investigate expression of the adiponectin receptors AdipoR1 on the mRNA and protein level and AdipoR2 on the mRNA level. METHODs： Fat fed rats were used as a model for fatty liver disease and bile duct ligation in mice to investigate cirrhotic liver. Expression of AdipoR1 and AdipoR2 mRNA was determined by real time RT-PCR. AdipoR1 protein was analysed by immunoblot. Adiponectin was measured by ELIsA. REsULTs： systemic adiponectin is reduced in fatfed rats but is elevated in mice after bile duct ligation （BDL）. Hepatic adiponectin protein is lower in steatotic liver but not in the liver of BE）L-mice when compared to controls. Adiponectin mRNA was not detected in human liver samples or primary human hepatocytes nor in rat liver but recombinant adiponectin is taken up by isolated hepatocytes in-vitro. AdipoR1 mRNA and AdipoR1 protein levels are similar in the liver tissue of control and fat fed animals whereas AdipoR2 mRNA is induced. AdipoR2 mRNA and AdipoR1 mRNA and protein is suppressed in the liver of BDL-mice. CONCLUsION： Our studies show reduced circulating adiponectin in a rat model of fatty liver disease whereas circulating adiponectin is elevated in a mouse model of cirrhosis and similar findings have been described in humans. Diminished hepatic expression of adiponectin receptors was only found in liver cirrhosis.
