Assessment of the performance of the TOPGNSS and ANN-MB antennas for ionospheric measurements using low-cost u-blox GNSS receivers

Low-cost GNSS receivers have recently been gaining reliability as good candidates for ionospheric studies. In line with these gains are genuine concerns about improving the performance of these receivers. In this work, we present a comprehensive investigation of the performances of two antennas(the u-blox ANN-MB and the TOPGNSS TOP-106) used on a low-cost GNSS receiver known as the u-blox ZED-F9P. The two antennas were installed on two identical and co-located u-blox receivers. Data used from both receivers cover the period from January to June 2022. Results from the study indicate that the signal strengths are dominantly greater for the receiver with the TOPGNSS antenna than for the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna, implying that the TOPGNSS antenna is better than the ANN-MB antenna in terms of providing greater signal strengths. Summarily, the TOPGNSS antenna also performed better in minimizing the occurrence of cycle slips on phase TEC measurements. There are no conspicuous differences between the variances(computed as 5-min standard deviations) of phase TEC measurements for the two antennas, except for a period around May-June when the TOPGNSS gave a better performance in terms of minimizing the variances in phase TEC. Remarkably, the ANN-MB antenna gave a better performance than the TOPGNSS antenna in terms of minimizing the variances in pseudorange TEC for some satellite observations. For precise horizontal(North and East) positioning, the receiver with the TOPGNSS antenna gave better results, while the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna gave better vertical(Up) positioning. The errors for the receivers of both antennas are typically within about 5 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 1 m) in the horizontal direction and within about 10 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 4 m) in the vertical direction.

Background Macrophytes may modify benthic biodiversity and biogeochemistry via radial oxygen loss from roots. This condition contrasts sediments anoxia, allows roots respiration, and facilitates aerobic microbial communities and processes in the rhizosphere. Simultaneously, the rhizosphere can stimulate anaerobic microorganisms and processes via exudates or by favoring the build-up of electron acceptors as nitrate. As eutrophication often results in organic enrichment in sediments and large internal nutrients recycling, an interesting research question is to investigate whether plants maintain the capacity to stimulate aerobic or anaerobic microbial communities and processes also under elevated organic *** A manipulative experiment was carried out under laboratory-controlled conditions. Microcosms containing bare sediments and sediments transplanted with the macrophyte Vallisneria spiralis L. were created. The effect of the plant was investigated on sediments with moderate(8%) and elevated(21%) organic matter content, after an acclimatization period of 30 days. Chemical and physical parameters, microbial community composition and the potential rates of nitrification, denitrification and nitrate ammonification were measured at two different depths(0–1 and 1–5 cm) after the acclimatization period to evaluate the role of *** Vallisneria spiralis grew and assimilated pore water nutrients at the two organic matter levels and vegetated sediments had always nutrient-depleted porewaters as compared to bare sediments. Nitrifying microbes had a lower relative abundance and diversity compared to denitrifying bacteria. However, regardless of the organic content, in vegetated sediments nitrifiers were detected in deeper horizons as compared to bare sediments, where nitrification was confined near the surface. Peyronie’s disease(PD)is a condition of penile connective tissue affecting up to 10%of men *** the complexity ofits management,nonsurgical treatments,such as intraplaque injections,are gaining *** current literature shows dataon the efficacy of intraplaque injections of hyaluronic acid(HA)mainly in acute-phase ***,data on injections of HA instable-phase PD are *** for this retrospective study were derived from a prospectively maintained database of privatepatients presenting at a private medical practice affiliated to the University of Naples“Federico II”(Naples,Italy)with stable-phasePD between January 2020 and March *** underwent a standard protocol of three injections,each administered at atwo-week *** the intervals,patients performed vacuum device therapy,penile stretching,and modeling *** compiled the Peyronie’s Disease Questionnaire(PDQ)and Global Assessment of Peyronie’s Disease(GAPD)at baselineand 2 weeks after the third injection.A penile Doppler ultrasound was performed 2 weeks after the last injection to record thefinal ***,we recruited 62 patients with stable-phase PD and a mean(±standard deviation[s.d.])curvature of52.7°(±9.7°).After 6 weeks,eight(12.9%)patients did not experience any curvature *** remaining 54 patientshad a final mean(±s.d.)curvature of 40.3°(±9.1°)with P<0.001,compared to that before *** found improvement inall PDQ domains(all P≤0.01),and 50(80.6%)patients reported subjective improvement of the penile curvature according to *** conclusion,we demonstrated that after three injections of HA administered according to the adopted protocol,patientswith stable-phase PD could experience significant improvements in penile curvature,and physical and psychological consequencesof the disease without significantly relevant side effects.

Proprioception is significantly impaired in knee osteoarthritis(KOA),contributing to reduced *** training(ST)is essential in KOA by improving muscle strength,although it may also be effective in improving *** purpose was to determine the effect of ST on knee proprioception in KOA ***,CINAHL,Scopus,WOS,and PEDro were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)(inception to March 2023).Comparisons for ST were physical exercise different from ST,non-exercise-based interventions,and no *** quality was assessed using the PEDro scale,and risk of bias(RoB)using the Cochrane ***-analyses were performed by comparison groups using the standardized mean difference(SMD)(Hedge's g)with random effects models,also considering subgroups by proprioception ***,six RCTs were *** mean PEDro score was 6.3,and the highest proportion of biases corresponds to per-formance,selection,and *** meta-analysis indicated that only when compared with non-intervention,ST significantly improved knee proprioception for the joint position sense(JPS)(activeþpassive),JPS(passive),and threshold to detect passive motion(TTDPM)subgroups(g=-1.33[-2.33,-0.32],g=-2.29[-2.82,-1.75]and g=-2.40[-4.23,-0.58],respectively).However,in the knee JPS(active)subgroup,ST was not significant(g=-0.72[-1.84,0.40]).In conclusion,ST improves knee proprioception compared to ***,due to the paucity of studies and diversity of interventions,more evidence is needed to support the effectiveness of *** RCTs may address the limitations of this review to advance knowledge about pro-prioceptive responses to ST and contribute to clinical practice.
