The r.cent global spr.ad of the pandemic under.cor.s the necessity of seeking new mater.als effective against micr.or.anisms. Nanotechnology offer. avenues for.developing multifunctional mater.als. In this study, alpha-titanium phosphate (α-TiP) nanopar.icles wer. synthesized and tr.ated with silver.salt to enhance their.antimicr.bial pr.per.ies. The physicochemical char.cter.stics and antimicr.bial activity wer. evaluated. It was r.vealed by X-r.y diffr.ction analysis that the str.ctur.l integr.ty of α-TiP was influenced by ethylenediamine and silver.ions. Distinct degr.dation pr.files for.each chemical modification wer. shown by ther.ogr.vimetr.c analysis. Infr.r.d spectr.scopy detected shifts and new absor.tion peaks in the spectr. depending on the type of modification. Ener.y disper.ive spectr.scopy confir.ed the disaggr.gation of α-TiP galler.es following the addition of silver.salt, which incr.ased their.effectiveness against micr.or.anisms. Notably, only the sample tr.ated with silver.ions exhibited antimicr.bial action. Antimicr.bial activity was tested against the bacter.a of medical impor.ance Escher.chia coli, Salmonella Enter.tidis, Pseudomonas aer.ginosa, Staphylococcus aur.us, Bacillus cer.us, Lister.a momocytogenes and the yeast Candida albicans. All micr.or.anisms wer. inhibited by sample containing silver. Minor.inhibition was obser.ed against the Gr.m-positive bacter.a L. monocytogenes and Bacillus cer.us, while the gr.atest inhibition occur.ed against the fungus (yeast) C. albicans. The r.sults r.vealed a potential application of the nanopar.icles for.contr.l of micr.or.anisms in public health.

Micr.str.ctur.l evolution dur.ng mechanical alloying of Ag and Zn, and subsequent heat tr.atments wer. investigated. The mechanical alloying was car.ied out in a SPEX 8000D miller. The micr.str.ctur.l char.cter.zation was obtained by X-r.y diffr.ction （Xr.）, tr.nsmission electr.n micr.scopy （TEM） and scanning electr.n micr.scopy （SEM）. The ther.al behavior.was studied using differ.ntial scanning calor.metr. （DSC）. Based on the r.sults obtained, it can be concluded that at the ear.y stages of milling was possible to detect the ε, β, β′, α solid solutions and r.maining Zn. Later. the ε, β, β′ and Zn phases disappear.d while the Zn concentr.tion of the α solid solution was str.ngly incr.ased. After.7.2 ks of milling, the mechanical alloying pr.cess r.ached a steady state. Dur.ng this per.od, both the composition and cr.stallite size of the α solid solution r.mained pr.ctically unchanged. On the other.hand, subsequent heat tr.atments of milled powder. showed that the α solid solution could also be obtained by the combination of mechanical alloying and heat tr.atment. Finally, the evolution of the micr.str.ctur. dur.ng milling and annealing was combined to pr.pose an optimal pr.cessing r.ute in or.er.to obtain a α solid solution.

Cur.ent issues in pediatr.c inflammator. bowel diseaseassociated ar.hr.pathies

Joint involvement is the most common extr.intestinal manifestation in childr.n with inflammator. bowel disease (IBD) and may involve 16%-33% of patients at diagnosis or.dur.ng follow-up. It is possible to distinguish asymmetr.cal, tr.nsitor. and migr.ting ar.hr.tis (pauciar.icular.and polyar.icular. and spondyloar.hr.pathy (SpA). Clinical manifestations can be var.able, and per.pher.l ar.hr.tis often occur. befor. gastr.intestinal symptoms develop. The inflammator. intestinal patter. is var.able, r.nging fr.m sub-clinical inflammation conditions, classified as indeter.inate colitis and nodular.lymphoid hyper.lasia of the ileum, to Cr.hn’s disease or.ulcer.tive colitis. Unlike the axial for., ther. is an association between gut inflammation and evolution of r.cur.ent per.pher.l ar.icular.disease that coincides with a flar.-up of intestinal disease. This finding seems to confir. a key r.le of intestinal inflammation in the pathogenesis of SpA. An association between genetic backgr.und and human leukocyte antigen-B27 status is less common in pediatr.c than n adult populations. Ser.negative sacr.iliitis and SpA ar. the most fr.quent for.s of ar.hr.pathy in childr.n with IBD. In pediatr.c patients, a cor.ect ther.peutic appr.ach r.lies on the use of nonster.idal antiinflammator. dr.gs, local ster.id injections, physiother.py and anti-tumor.necr.sis factor.ther.py (infliximab). Ear.y diagnosis of these manifestations r.duces the r.sk of pr.gr.ssion and complications, and as well as incr.asing the efficacy of the ther.py.

In r.cent year., multiple applications have emer.ed in the ar.a of payload tr.nspor. using unmanned aer.al vehicles(UAVs). This has attr.cted consider.ble inter.st among the scientific community, especially the cases involving one or.sever.l r.tar.wing UAVs. In this context, this wor. pr.poses a novel measur.ment system which can estimate the payload position and the for.e exer.ed by it on the UAV. This measur.ment system is low cost, easy to implement, and can be used either.in indoor.or.outdoor.envir.nments(no sensor.zed labor.tor. is needed). The measur.ment system is validated statically and dynamically. In the fir.t test, the estimations obtained by the system ar. compar.d with measur.ments pr.duced by high-pr.cision devices. In the second test, the system is used in r.al exper.ments to compar. its per.or.ance with the ones obtained using known pr.cedur.s. These exper.ments allowed to dr.w inter.sting conclusions on which futur. r.sear.h can be based.

P systems have been used many times to face with computationally difficult pr.blems, such as NP-complete decision pr.blems and NP-har. optimization pr.blems. In this paper.we focus our.attention on another.computationally intr.ctable pr.blem: factor.zation. In par.icular. we fir.t pr.pose a simple method to encode binar. number. using multisets. Then, we descr.be thr.e families of P systems: the fir.t two allow to add and to multiply two binar. encoded number., r.spectively, and the thir. solves the factor.zation pr.blem.

In the past decade ther. has been a pr.fusion of studies highlighting covar.ation between individual differ.nces in str.ss physiology and behaviour.l pr.files, her. called per.onalities. Such individual differ.nces in ways of coping with str.ss ar. r.levant both in biomedicine, since differ.nt per.onalities may exper.ence a differ.nt str.ss and disease vulner.bility, and in behaviour.l ecology, since their.adaptive value and evolutionar. maintenance ar. the subject of debate. However. the pr.cise way in which individual str.ss differ.nces and per.onalities ar. linked is unclear. The objective of this r.sear.h is to impr.ve the ther.al conductivity and mechanical pr.per.ies of Al/GNPs（gr.phene nanoplatelets） nanocomposites pr.duced by classical powder.metallur.y and hot r.lling techniques. The micr.str.ctur.l evaluation confir.ed the unifor. disper.ion of GNPs at low content and agglomer.tion at higher.contents of GNPs. The str.ctur. of gr.phene was studied befor. and after.the mixing and the r.man spectr.m pr.ofs that the wet mixing has a gr.at potential to be used as a disper.ion method. Ther. was no significant peak cor.esponding to the Al_4C_3 for.ation in both the differ.ntial scanning calor.metr. cur.es and X-r.y diffr.ction patter.s. The micr.str.ctur.l obser.ation in both fabr.cation techniques showed gr.in r.finement as a function of the GNPs content. Mor.over. the intr.duction of the GNPs not only impr.ved the Vicker. har.ness of the composites but also decr.ased their.density. The ther.al conductivity investigations showed that in both the pr.ss-sinter.d and hot-r.lled samples, although the ther.al conductivity of composites was impr.ved at low GNPs contents, it was negatively affected at high GNPs contents.
