The spatial diffusion of information is a process governed by the flow of interpersonal *** emergence of the Internet and especially social media platforms has reshaped this process and previous research has studied how online social networks contribute to the diffusion of *** such processes can help devise methods to maximize or control the reach of information or even identify upcoming events and social *** activities in cyberspace are still confined to physical locations and this geographic connection tends to be *** this research,we focus on geographic regions instead of individuals and study how the underlying hierarchical structure of regions relates to their response to the *** examined the top 30 populated cities and metropolitan areas in the *** retrieved Twitter data related to two selected topics from these regions,the 2015 Nepal Earthquake and the#Jesuischarlie hashtag in response to the Paris attacks on the charlie Hebdo *** analyzed the similarity among regions of their response using multiple statistical methods and three urban *** results indicate that the diffusion of information is impacted by the hierarchy of urban regions and that the Twitter responses act more similar when the populated regions are positioned at the same level in the urban hierarchy.

The photo-electro-chemical （PEc） splitting of water requires semiconductor materials with a minimum energy gap of 1.23 eV along with conduction and valence bands overlapping the oxidation of H20 and reduction of H＋ respectively. This work overcomes the limitations of stoichiometric titania by manufacturing fine scale fibres that exhibit a compositional gradient of oxygen vacancies across the fibre length. In such a fibre configuration the fibre end that is chemically reduced to a relatively small extent performs as the photoanode and the oxygen vacan- cies enhance the absorption of light. The fibre end that is reduced the most consists of Magn61i phases and exhibits metallic electrical conductivity that enhances the electron-hole separation. The structure and composition of the functionally graded fibres, which were manufactured through extrusion, pressureless sintering and carbo-thermal reduction, are studied using XRD and electron microscopy. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measure- ments were performed in a three-electrode electrochemical system and showed that the oxygen vacancies in the functionally graded fibres affect the fiat band potential and have increased carrier density. The efficiency of the system was evaluated with PEc measurements that shows higher efficiency for the functionally graded fibres com- pared to homogeneous TiO2 or Magn61i phase fibres. The functionally graded and fine scale fibres have the potential to be used as an array of active fibres for water splitting applications.

china has a great resource of cannabis. Research on the taxonomy and morphology of chinese cannabis has been carried out, but so far no molecular genetic research has been published. Random amplifiedpolymorphic DNA (RAPD) is a suitable technique for molecular genetic research on cannabis. In tills experiment,using cannabis herbarium specimens as a source of genetic materials, the correlative conditions of the Polymerasechain reaction (PcR), (i.e., gradient density of Mg^2+, dNTPs, Taq DNA polymerase, anneal temperature, anneal timeand reaction cycles) were examined separately. An effective procedure for the RAPD analysis of cannabis wasobtained.

The discrete element model （DEM） is a very promising modelling strategy for two-phase granular systems. However, owing to a lack of experimental measurements, validation of numerical simulations of two-phase granular systems is still an important issue. In this study, a small two-dimensional gas- fluidized bed was simulated using a discrete element model. The dimensions of the simulated bed were 44mm × 10mm × 120 mm and the fluidized particles had a diameter dp = 1.2 mm and density ρp = 1000 kg/m^3. The comparison between DEM simulations and experiments are performed on the basis of time-averaged voidage maps. The drag-law of Beetstra et al. [Beetstra, R., van der Hoef, M.A., ＆ Kuipers,J. A. M. （2007b）. Drag force of intermediate Reynolds number flow past mono- and bidispersed arrays of spheres. AIchE Journal, 53,489-501 ] seems to give the best results. The simulations are fairly insensitive to the coefficient of restitution and the coefficient of friction as long as some route of energy dissipation during particle-particle and particle-wall contact is provided. changing the boundary condition of the gas phase at the side-walls from zero-slip to full-slip does not affect the simulation results. care is to be taken that the cell sizes are chosen so that a reasonable number of particles can be found in a fluid cell.

Introduction: One in two cardiac patients fear having another heart event or their heart condition getting worse. Research in other chronic illnesses demonstrates that screening for fear of progression and recurrence is vital for adequately addressing such concerns in clinical care. The current project aims to develop and validate a measure for fear of progression and recurrence in cardiac ***: The Fear of cardiac Recurrence and Progression Scale (FcRP) will be developed through a multistep process. An initial item pool will be generated through a review of the literature and existing measures and consultation with and feedback from key informants. The item pool will be tested in a sample of over 250 adults who have ever had an acute coronary event, undergone cardiac surgery, or a chronic cardiac condition. Exploratory factor analysis will be used to identify the underlying factors, and Rasch analysis will be used to reduce the number of items. A short form version of the FcRP will be developed for use as a brief screening tool, informed by clinical relevance and Rasch psychometric ***: While many cardiac patients experience fears related to the progression or recurrence of their illness, there remains the need for a validated tool with which these concerns can be identified and measured. It is expected that the design and validation of the FcRP will aid identification of cardiac patients suffering from clinically significant levels of fear of progression and recurrence and facilitate the design of tailored psychological interventions to target these fears.

Development of total hip arthroplasty (THA) now spans more than 5 decades encompassing combinations of metal-on-metal (MOM), ceramic-on-metal (cOM), metal-on-plastic (MOP), ceramic-on-plastic (cOM), and ceramic-on-ceramic (cOc). In every arena of extensive technical development, there exists a data set that when viewed in isolation seemed of little import, but when assembled in-toto may produce a generational shift in perception. Our review focused on two such THA events. Firstly, cOc retrieval studies (1999-2001) noted habitual wear patterns on heads and peripheral wear stripes, along with femoral-neck impingement, and ceramic surfaces stained gray by metal debris. These cOc data indicated THA risks included, 1) cup edge-loading (E/L) on heads producing “stripe wear”, 2) component impingement releasing metal particles resulting in 3) tissues contaminated by metal debris. A corresponding MOM impingement-debris mechanism was only perceived by Howie (2005) in a McKee-Farrar retrieval study. Our anticipation at LLUMC was that MOM retrievals would provide superior wear details to those seen on COC retrievals. We noted stripe wear in the polar zone of CoCr heads and basal stripes in the non-wear areas. The basal-polar stripe combinations were found in all MOM retrievals.
