Plant-specific transcriptional regulators called TELOMERE REPEAT BINdING proteins(TRBs)combine two dNA-binding domains,the GH1 domain,which binds to linker dNA and is shared with H1 histones,and the Myb/SANT domain,which specifically recognizes the telobox dNA-binding site ***1,TRB2,and TRB3 proteins recruit Polycomb group complex 2(PRC2)to deposit H3K27me3 and JMJ14 to remove H3K4me3 at gene promoters containing telobox motifs to repress ***,we demonstrate that TRB4 and TRB5,two related paralogs belonging to a separate TRB clade conserved in spermatophytes,regulate the transcription of several hundred genes involved in developmental responses to environmental ***4 binds to several thousand sites in the genome,mainly at transcription start sites and promoter regions of transcriptionally active and H3K4me3-marked genes,but,unlike TRB1,it is not enriched at H3K27me3-marked gene ***,TRB4 can physically interact with the catalytic components of PRC2,SWINGER,and CURLY LEAF(CLF).Unexpectedly,we show that TRB4 and TRB5 are required for distinctive phenotypic traits observed in clf mutant plants and thus function as transcriptional activators of several hundred CLF-controlled genes,including key flowering *** further demonstrate that TRB4 shares multiple target genes with TRB1 and physically and genetically interacts with members of both TRB ***,these results reveal that TRB proteins engage in both positive and negative interactions with other members of the family to regulate plant development through both PRC2-dependent and-independent mechanisms.

Objective To investigate the in vivo immunomodulatory and anti-tumor mechanisms of the combined treatment of novel Four-Herb formula(4HF)and doxorubicin in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).Methods Murine-derived triple-negative mammary carcinoma cell line,4T1 cells,was cultured and inoculated into mouse mammary ***-six mice were randomly assigned into 6 groups(n=11 in ench):naive,control,Ld 4HF(low dose 4HF),Hd 4HF(high dose 4HF),Ld 4HF+d(low dose and doxorubicin),and d(doxorubicin).Apart from the naive group,each mouse received subcutaneous inoculation with 5×10^(5)4T1 cells resuspended in 100µL of normal saline in the mammary fat *** from the day of tumor cell inoculation,tumors were grown for 6 *** Ld and Hd groups received daily oral gavage of 658 and 2,630 mg/kg 4HF,*** Ld 4HF+d group received daily oral gavage of 658 mg/kg 4HF and weekly intraperitoneal injection of doxorubicin(5 mg/kg).The d group received weekly intraperitoneal injections of doxorubicin(5 mg/kg).The treatment naive mice received daily oral gavage of 0.2 mL double distilled water and 0.1 mL normal saline via intraperitoneal injection once a *** control group received daily oral gavage of 0.2 mL double-distilled *** treatment period was 30 *** the end of treatment,mice organs were harvested to analyze immunological activities via immunophenotyping,gene and multiplex analysis,histological staining,and gut microbiota *** Mice treated with the combination of 4HF and doxorubicin resulted in significantly reduced tumor and spleen burdens(Pd the hypoxia and overall immune lymphocyte landscape,and manipulated gut microbiota to favor the anti-tumor immunological ***,immunosuppressive genes,cytokines,and chemokines such as C-C motif chemokine 2 and interleukin-10 of tumors were significantly downregulated(Pdoxorubicin combination treatment demonstrated synergetic activities and was most effective

Vegetable oils are a source of energy, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and fat-soluble vitamins useful for human health care and development. These oils also contribute to organoleptic quality of their products’ derivatives. However, their chemical and physical properties can be modified by the mode of their extraction, storage and distribution. These modifications might negatively affect the nutritional quality of the oils. The goals of this study were to: sample different vegetable oils for cosmetic or dietary use marketed in Cameroon, and verify purity and oxidation states of each kind of oil through determination of its acidity, iodine, peroxide, saponification, refractive indexes and the conformity of the labeling. The carotene content, the level of polar components and specific absorbance were also determined. As the result, six oils namely palm, palm kernel, coconut, black cumin, peanut and shea butter were collected. Apart from labeling, chemicals and physicals parameters analyzed were generally in accordance with the Cameroonian and Codex Alimentarius standard. This study suggests that vegetable oils sampled in the Cameroonian market may not expose consumers to lipid oxidation products generating pathological oxidative stress and inflammation. However, efforts in application of existing standard need to be done as far as labeling are concerned.

Coal petrology analysis and implications in depositional environments from upper Cretaceous to Miocene:a study case in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia

The Piedemonte Llanero Basin is located on the eastern side of the Eastern Cordillera of the Colombian *** has been the subject of numerous geological studies carried out for the oil sector,*** study presents the coalpetrographical features of 15 coal seams of four geological formations from Late Cretaceous to Middle Miocene(Chipaque formation,Palmichal group,Arcillas del Limbo formation,and San Fernando formation).Analysis of 33 samples indicates enrichment in vitrinite,while liptinite and inertinite concentrations vary according to the stratigraphic *** indicates that the coal range gradually decreases from highly volatile bituminous C(Chipaque formation)to subbituminous C(San Fernando formation).The microlithotypes with the highest concentrations are clarite and *** composition and coal facies indicate changes in the depositional conditions of the *** precursor peat from Late Cretaceous to Late Paleocene accumulated under limnic conditions followed by telmatic in Late Eocene-Early *** coal facies indices show wet conditions in forest swamps with variations in the flooding surface,influxes of brackish water and good tissue *** tectonic conditions along the Piedemonte Llanero basin is evident,from post-rift to foreland basin,evidenced by oxic and anoxic periods reflected in the maceral composition and its *** coal environment corresponds to an estuarine system started in the Chipaque formation evolving to the lacustrine conditions in the San Fernando formation.

人工受精(AI)的结果是降低已经进行过高度选择雄性繁殖力评价的奶牛种群数量。1990-2007年采集502头荷斯坦公牛的42348个精液数据进行贝叶斯框架分析,对过去十几年在人工受精中心常规收集的精液进行精液特征进化和遗传参数的评估。主要考虑的特性是精子数量(VOL)、浓度(CONC)、每次射精的精子数量(NESPZ)、总体精子活力(MM)、个体精子活力(IM)以及解冻后活力(PTM)。研究环境因素随时间的变化时,根据环境和技术条件的改变,年龄的变化、射精顺序、提前收集的时间点(TPC)以及收集和冻结期间的时间点(TCF)对其进行每季度和每周的收集,公牛近交系数(Fi)、永久环境和添加剂遗传因素也被考虑在内,运用贝叶斯因子对此降低模型的使用进行评价。在该模型中对所有的系统效应进行测试并除了Fi影响精子活性和TCF影响PTM之外,得出有力的数据证明模型的正确性。观察中发现除PTM外,环境影响没有系统时间的趋势,这表明环境改变的趋势参与精子冻融的改善。遗传力评价除IM外均处于中度(0.16-0.22),其中存在一个低值(0.07)。精子之间活力的相互作用以及精子活力与CONC之间的相互作用存在较大的遗传相关性(0.38-0.87),VOL与CONC显示出负相关性(-0.13)。如果要求使用这些特征作为判断公牛育种精子活力的指标,需要增大遗传性能有效的选择。

Individual repeatability in timing and spatial flexibility of migration routes of trans-Saharan migratory raptors

Satellite-tracking technology has allowed scientists to make a quantum leap in the field of migration ecology. Nowadays, the basic description of migratory routes of many species of birds has been reported. However, the investigation of bird migration at individual level （i.e. repeatability in migratory routes and timing） still remains seldom explored. Here, we investigated repeated migratory trips of a trans-Saharan endangered migratory raptor, the Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus, tracked by GPS satellite telemetry. We compared between- and within-individual variation in migratory routes and timing in order to assess the degree of repeatability （or conversely, the flexibility） in migration. To this end, we analysed a dataset of 48 trips （23 springs and 25 autumns） recorded for six adult birds during 2007-2013. Our results showed consistent migration timing at the individual level, both in spring and autumn. Interestingly, there was a high degree of flexibility in the routes followed by the same individual in different years, probably due to variations in meteorological conditions. Contrary to expectations of a faster migration in spring than in autumn owing to a time-minimization strategy for breeding, birds spent less time in autumn migration （13 ± 2 days, range = 9-18 d） than in spring migration （19 ± 3 days, range = 13-26 d）, which can be explained by differences in environmental con- ditions en route. Egyptian vultures showed a consistent clockwise loop migration through western Africa, following more easterly routes in autumn than in spring. Finally, our results provide supporting evidence of low phenotypic plasticity in timing of migration （i.e. strong endogenous control of migration） and high flexibility in routes [Current Zoology 60 （5）： 642-652, 2014].

The presence of iodinated X-ray contrast media（ICM） in source waters is of high concern to public health because of their potential to generate highly toxic disinfection by-products（dBPs）. The objective of this study was to determine the impact of ICM in source waters and the type of disinfectant on the overall toxicity of dBP mixtures and to determine which ICM and reaction conditions give rise to toxic by-products. Source waters collected from Akron,OH were treated with five different ICMs, including iopamidol, iopromide, iohexol,diatrizoate and iomeprol, with or without chlorine or chloramine disinfection. The reaction product mixtures were concentrated with XAd resins and the mammalian cell cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of the reaction mixture concentrates was measured. Water containing iopamidol generated an enhanced level of mammalian cell cytotoxicity and genotoxicity after disinfection. While chlorine disinfection with iopamidol resulted in the highest cytotoxicity overall, the relative iopamidol-mediated increase in toxicity was greater when chloramine was used as the disinfectant compared with chlorine. Four other ICMs（iopromide, iohexol, diatrizoate, and iomeprol） expressed some cytotoxicity over the control without any disinfection, and induced higher cytotoxicity when chlorinated. Only iohexol enhanced genotoxicity compared to the chlorinated source water.
