The collection and proper disposal of MSW(Municipal Solid Waste)is one of the biggest challenges faced by Brazilian public *** recyclable waste represents about 33.6%of the gravimetric composition of MSW,with a tendency to increase in the next few years,due to the increasing consumption of processed products,with short life cycles and excess *** inadequate management of these residues results in a series of social,environmental and economic *** recent years,there has been a great advance in Brazilian laws,assigning responsibilities and regulating waste management in the country,optimizing the use of infrastructure and human and financial *** resources and insufficient infrastructure demand actions based on a lot of *** of the main limiting factors for the planning and development of public policies for the sector is the lack of reliable data and information on the generation and management of waste,that allow the creation of future scenarios and the definition of adequate strategies for minimization,valorization of waste and final disposal of waste that no longer can be ***,this work sought to analyze the current situation of selective waste collection and recycling cooperatives in 211 municipalities in the State of São Paulo,evaluating the issues and opportunities for the applicability of Law n.12,305/2010,Brazilian PNRS(in Portuguese)(National Policy of Solid Waste)in the management of this waste in small,medium and large cities.A bibliographic research was carried out on the panorama of solid waste management in Brazil and in the State of São Paulo,as well as a contextualization on selective waste collection and recycling *** that,data from 211 municipalities taking part in the survey Solid Waste Management—Municipalities of the State of São Paulo were analyzed,focusing on answers that correlated with the topics covered in this *** this work,questions were used in order to obt

Maternal Predictors for Quality of Life during the Postpartum in Brazilian Mothers

Introduction: The postpartum period can have a significant physical, emotional, and social impact on the quality of a woman’s life. Most postpartum research has focused on physical complications and only a few studies have specifically investigated quality of life. The purpose of this study was to explore predictors affecting the quality of life of postpartum Brazilian mothers. Study Design and Methods: A cross-sectional Quality of Life survey was performed in 210 Brazilian mothers during the early postpartum period. Data were collected using an interview technique and two instruments: 1) a maternal questionnaire and the 2) Maternal Postpartum Quality of Life tool/Brazilian version. The association between maternal characteristics and quality of life in the post-partum period was investigated with bivariate and multivariable analyses. Results: Mothers who had the best Quality of Life were white, registered students, 30 - 40 years of age, who were married or living with a partner, and without physical complaints;in addition, they had at least an 8th grade education, more than 4 children, and had attended more than 8 prenatal visits with a nurse. The stepwise model indicated that white race (p < 0.05) and married or living with a partner (p < 0.05) were the best predictors of Quality of Life in postpartum women. Conclusions and Clinical Implications: Marital status and race conditions may predict quality of life in postpartum Brazilian mothers. In addition, improved knowledge concerning the postpartum, maternal experience may help develop health interventions to enhance the quality of life of this population.
