Relict subtropical coniferous forests in China face severe fragmentation,resulting in declining populations,and some are under significant threat from invasive alien *** the crucial importance of understanding forest dynamics,knowledge gaps persist,particularly regarding the impact of invasive plants on vulnerable natives like Keteleeria *** this study,we investigated the impact of invasive plants on the regeneration of forests dominated by ***,a subtropical relict species in southwestern *** this purpose,we characterized forest dynamics of 160 forest plots featuring *** as the primary dominant species and determined whether the presence of invasive plants was correlated with regeneration of *** identified four distinct forest types in which *** was *** found that radial growth of *** trees is faster in younger ageclasses today than it was for older trees at the same *** population structure of *** in each forest type exhibited a multimodal age-class ***,three forest types lacked established saplings younger than 10 years old,a situation attributed to the dense coverage of the invasive alien Ageratina *** invasive species resulted in a reduction of understory species ***,our analysis uncovered a significant negative correlation in phylogenetic relatedness(net relatedness index)between native and invasive alien plant species in eastern *** suggests closely related invasive species face heightened competition,hindering successful *** together,our findings indicate that successful establishment and habitat restoration of *** seedling/saplings require effective measures to control invasive plants.

Age-related macular degeneration(AMD)is characterized by complex interactions between genetic and environmental *** we genotyped the selected 25 single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)in 983 cases with advanced AMD and 271 cases with intermediate AMD and build an AMD life-risk score model for assessment of progression from intermediate to advanced *** analyzed the performance of the prediction model for geographic atrophy progressors or choroidal neovascularization progressors versus non-progressors based on the 25 SNPs plus body mass index and smoking *** results suggest that a class prediction algorithm can be used for the risk assessment of progression from intermediate to late AMD *** algorithm could also be potentially applied for therapeutic response,and toward personalized care and precision medicine.

Age exerts a continuous effect in the outcomes of Asian breast cancer patients treated with breast-conserving therapy

Background:Asians are diagnosed with breast cancer at a younger age than Caucasians *** studied the effect of age on locoregional recurrence and the survival of Asian breast cancer patients treated with breast-conserving ***:Medical records of 2492 patients treated with breast-conserving therapy between 1989 and 2012 were *** Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate locoregional recurrence,breast cancer-free survival,and breast cancer-specific survival *** rates were then compared using log-rank *** and age were modeled by Cox proportional *** polynomials were then used to test for non-linear relationships between age and ***:Patients≤40 years old were more likely to have locoregional recurrence than were older patients(Hazard ratio[HR]=2.32,P<0.001).Locoregional recurrence rates decreased year-on-year by 4%for patients with luminal-type breast cancers,compared with 8%for those with triple-negative ***,breast cancer-free survival rates increased year-on-year by 4%versus 8%for luminal-type and triple-negative cancers,*** cancer-spe-cific survival rates increased with age by 5%*** breast cancer-free survival and breast cancer-specific survival rates in patients with luminal cancers exhibited a non-linear(“L-shaped”)relationship-where decreasing age at presentation was associated with escalating risks of relapse and *** influence of age on overall survival was confounded by competing non-cancer deaths in older women,resulting in a“U-shaped”***:Young Asian breast cancer patients have a continuous year-on-year increase in rates of disease relapse and cancer deaths compared with older patients with no apparent threshold.

Pseudotsuga forrestii is a relict evergreen coniferous tree species in Pinaceae endemic to *** tree numbers have greatly decreased due to deforestation,over-utilization and habitat *** we clarify *** community types,structure,species diversity,seedling recruitments and growth *** identified four *** community types:(1)Pseudotsuga forrestii-Quercus guyavifolia-Acer davidii evergreen coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest;(2)Pseudotsuga forrestii-Pinus yunnanensis-Quercus guyavifolia evergreen coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest;(3)Pseudotsuga forrestii evergreen coniferous forest;(4)Pseudotsuga forrestii-Abies georgei *** evergreen coniferous *** forests are characterized by both warm temperate and temperate *** diversity,Pielou evenness,Shannon-Wiener diversity indices ranged from 0.75 to 0.76,0.74-0.81,and 1.62-1.93,respectively,with no significant differences among the four forest *** forest stratification was *** canopy layer was generally 10-25 m tall,with the emergent layer reached 25-42 *** and age structures of *** showed multimodal *** maximum age *** was 570 years with a DBH of 143 *** growth of annual ring width of *** was slow,and generally decreased with age,whereas the basal area at the breast height increased with *** seedlings/saplings were mainly found in unstable *** of *** depends on moderate natural ***,we provide recommendations for *** conservation.

Objective：Few data are available on the epidemiology of HPV and cervical cancer among Chinese women younger than 25 years *** study aimed to estimate the HPV infection rate and the prevalence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia（CIN） in women aged 18-25,as well as their knowledge of and attitudes towards HPV ***：A population-based cervical cancer screening study was conducted on women aged 18-25 in Jiangsu province in *** provided socio-demographic,reproductive and behavioral information and completed a survey about their knowledge of and attitudes towards HPV *** then underwent a gynecologic exam to provide two cervical exfoliated cell samples for high risk HPV DNA testing and liquid-based cytology（LBC） as well as visual inspection with acetic acid（VIA）.Women testing positive for any test were referred to colposcopy and *** gold standard for diagnosis of cervical lesions was directed or random ***：Within the sample of 316 women,3.4% of them were diagnosed with CIN grade 2 or worse lesions and 17.1% were found to be positive for HPV *** these young women,extra-marital sexual behavior of them（OR=2.0,95%CI：1.1-3.8） or their husbands（OR=2.6,95%：1.4-4.7） were associated with an increased risk of HPV *** overall HPV awareness was low,after a brief educational intervention,98.4% reported they would electively receive HPV vaccination and would also recommend that their daughters be ***,most urban and rural women reported their ideal maximum out-of-pocket contribution for HPV vaccination to be less than 500 RMB and 50-100 RMB,***：Our study indicates cervical disease burden is relatively high among sampled Chinese women aged *** educational interventions for female adolescents and strategies to subsidize vaccine costs are definitely needed to ensure the effectiveness of vaccination campaigns in China.

背景与目的亚洲人被诊断为乳腺癌的年龄比高加索人年轻。我们研究了年龄对接受保乳治疗的亚洲乳腺癌患者的局部区域复发及生存期的影响。方法分析了1989年至2012年接受保乳治疗的2492例乳腺癌患者的病历。采用Kaplan-Meier法分析了局部区域复发率、无乳腺癌生存期和乳腺癌特异生存期,log-rank检验进行差异比较。采用Cox比例风险回归模型分析了结局与年龄的关系。分段多项式函数法用于评估年龄与结局之间的非线性关系。结果年龄≤40岁的患者出现局部区域复发的可能性更大(风险比[hazard ratio,HR]=2.32,P<0.001)。管腔型乳腺癌局部区域复发率降低4%,同比三阴性乳腺癌降低8%。与之相似,管腔型和三阴性乳腺癌患者的无乳腺癌生存率分别增加4%和8%。乳腺癌特异生存率随年龄同比增加5%。管腔型乳腺癌患者的无乳腺癌生存率和乳腺癌特异生存率都呈非线性("L型")关系:递减的发病年龄与逐步增加的复发和死亡风险相关。在年老女性中年龄对总生存的影响受到非癌症死亡的混杂,导致"U-型"关系。结论与年老患者相比,年轻亚洲乳腺癌患者的疾病复发率和癌症死亡率呈持续逐年递增趋势,但无明显年龄阈值。

项目背景自20世纪80年代以来,攀升的房价和生活成本导致大量产业人才的流失,人才保障性住房计划因应而生。但受土地资源以及旧区拆改难度的限制,城市中心区难以在短时间内为外来人口提供足够的廉价保障性住房,因此本项目成为了深圳市首个利用城中村"握手楼"改造为人才保障房社区的试点。改造片区位于深圳中心区的水围村,规划面积约为8,000m2,共35栋统建农民楼,其中29栋改造为504间人才公寓。改造设计保持了原有的城市肌理、建筑结构及城中村特色的空间尺度;并通过提升消防、市政配套设施及电梯,成为符合现代标准的宜居宜业空间。
