The sluggish redox reaction kinetics of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)are considered the main obstacle to the commercial application of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries.To accelerate the conversion by catalysis and inhibit the shuttling of soluble LiPSs in Li-S batteries,a solution is proposed in this study.The solution involves fabrication of N,S co-doped carbon coated In_(2)O_(3)/In_(2)S_(3)heterostructure(In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC)as a multifunctional host material for the cathode.The In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC composite can reduce the Gibbs free energy for the conversion reactions of LiPSs,which results in superior performance.The synergy between different components in In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC and the unique 3D structure facilitate ion and electron transport in Li-S batteries.The In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC/Li 2 S 6 cathode exhibits excellent rate capacity,with a capacity of 599 mAh g−1 at 5.5 C,and good cycle stability,with a capacity of 436 mAh g^(−1)after 1000 cycles at 1 C.Overall,this study proposes a promising solution to improve the energy storage properties of Li-S batteries,which could potentially facilitate the commercialization of Li-S batteries.

Approximately 30%–40%of growth hormone–secreting pituitary adenomas(GHPAs)harbor somatic activating mutations in GNAS(αsubunit of stimulatory G protein).Mutations in GNAS are associated with clinical features of smaller and less invasive tumors.However,the role of GNAS mutations in the invasiveness of GHPAs is unclear.GNAS mutations were detected in GHPAs using a standard polymerase chain reaction(PCR)sequencing procedure.The expression of mutation-associated maternally expressed gene 3(MEG3)was evaluated with RT-qPCR.MEG3 was manipulated in GH3 cells using a lentiviral expression system.Cell invasion ability was measured using a Transwell assay,and epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)-associated proteins were quantified by immunofluorescence and western blotting.Finally,a tumor cell xenograft mouse model was used to verify the effect of MEG3 on tumor growth and invasiveness.The invasiveness of GHPAs was significantly decreased in mice with mutated GNAS compared with that in mice with wild-type GNAS.Consistently,the invasiveness of mutant GNASexpressing GH3 cells decreased.MEG3 is uniquely expressed at high levels in GHPAs harboring mutated GNAS.Accordingly,MEG3 upregulation inhibited tumor cell invasion,and conversely,MEG3 downregulation increased tumor cell invasion.Mechanistically,GNAS mutations inhibit EMT in GHPAs.MEG3 in mutated GNAS cells prevented cell invasion through the inactivation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,which was further validated in vivo.Our data suggest that GNAS mutations may suppress cell invasion in GHPAs by regulating EMT through the activation of the MEG3/Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Piezoelectric silicon carbide(SiC)has been quite attractive due to its superior chemical and physical properties as well as wide potential applications.However,the inherent brittleness and unsatisfactory piezoelectric response of piezoelectric semiconductors remain the major obstacles to their diversified applications.Here,flexible multifunctional PVDF/6H-SiC composite fiber films are fabricated and utilized to assemble both piezoelectric nanogenerators(PENGs)and stress/temperature/light sensors.The open cir-cuit voltage(V_(oc))and the density of short circuit current(I_(sc))of the PENG based on the PVDF/5 wt%6H-SiC composite fiber films reach 28.94 V and 0.24μA cm^(-2),showing a significant improvement of 240%and 300%compared with that based on the pure PVDF films.The effect of 6H-SiC nanoparticles(NPs)on inducing interfacial polarization and stress concentration in composite fiber films is proved by first-principles calculation and finite element analysis.The stress/temperature/light sensors based on the composite fiber film also show high sensitivity to the corresponding stimuli.This study shows that the PVDF/6H-SiC composite fiber film is a promising candidate for assembling high-performance energy harvesters and diverse sensors.

Self-assembled aerogel sheet electrodes of thermocells for low-grade heat harvest

Efficiently harvesting low-grade heat is crucial for sustainable energy management. Thermocells(TECs), inducing heat-toelectricity conversion via the thermogalvanic effect, have thus drawn tremendous attention in recent years. This study introduces a self-assembly approach for fabricating aerogel sheet electrodes(ASEs) tailored for TECs. The crafted ASEs retain a remarkable porous architecture with approximately 95% porosity, even with their slimmed-down thickness. Results reveal that the electrode composition has minimal influence on the thermopower of TECs. Notably, the porous ASE with tunned composition demonstrates an optimal effective surface area for the thermogalvanic effect, resulting in enhanced output current density. This balances the desirable traits of electrode compactness with abundant redox active sites, positioning it favorably against conventional bulky electrode designs. The TECs utilizing the optimized ASE achieve a peak output power of 22.10 μW cm^(-2)under a temperature difference of 30 K. Furthermore, a tubular TEC device is readily assembled and specially designed for harvesting heat energy from hot fluids. These findings underscore the potential of composite electrodes in the realm of low-grade heat harvest, paving the way for broader applications in sustainable energy solutions.

Background:The role of surgery in metastatic breast cancer(MBC)is currently controversial.Several novel statistical and deep learning(DL)methods promise to infer the suitability of surgery at the individual level.Objective:The objective of this study was to identify the most applicable DL model for determining patients with MBC who could benefit from surgery and the type of surgery required.Methods:We introduced the deep survival regression with mixture effects(DSME),a semi-parametric DL model integrating three causal inference methods.Six models were trained to make individualized treatment recommendations.Patients who received treatments in line with the DL models'recommendations were compared with those who underwent treatments divergent from the recommendations.Inverse probability weighting(IPW)was used to minimize bias.The effects of various features on surgery selection were visualized and quantified using multivariate linear regression and causal inference.Results:In total,5269 female patients with MBC were included.DSME was an independent protective factor,outperforming other models in recommending surgery(IPW-adjusted hazard ratio[HR]=0.39,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.19–0.78)and type of surgery(IPW-adjusted HR=0.66,95%CI:0.48–0.93).DSME was superior to other models and traditional guidelines,suggesting a higher proportion of patients benefiting from surgery,especially breast-conserving surgery.The debiased effect of patient characteristics,including age,tumor size,metastatic sites,lymph node status,and breast cancer subtypes,on surgery decision was also quantified.Conclusions:Our findings suggested that DSME could effectively identify patients with MBC likely to benefit from surgery and the specific type of surgery needed.This method can facilitate the development of efficient,reliable treatment recommendation systems and provide quantifiable evidence for decision-making.

Hyperspectral remote sensing image(HSI)fusion with multispectral remote sensing images(MSI)improves data resolution.However,current fusion algorithms focus on local information and overlook long-range dependencies.The parameter of network tuning prioritizes global optimization,neglecting spatial and spectral constraints,and limiting spatial and spectral reconstruction capabilities.This study introduces SwinGAN,a fusion network combining Swin Transformer,CNN,and GAN architectures.SwinGAN’s generator employs a detail injection framework to separately extract HSI and MSI features,fusing them to generate spatial residuals.These residuals are injected into the supersampled HSI to produce thefinal image,while a pure CNN architecture acts as the discriminator,enhancing the fusion quality.Additionally,we introduce a new adaptive loss function that improves image fusion accuracy.The loss function uses L1 loss as the content loss,and spatial and spectral gradient loss functions are introduced to improve the spatial representation and spectralfidelity of the fused images.Our experimental results on several datasets demonstrate that SwinGAN outperforms current popular algorithms in both spatial and spectral reconstruction capabilities.The ablation experiments also demonstrate the rationality of the various components of the proposed loss function.

We herein report a facile one-pot synthesis of MnO/N-doped carbon(N—C) composites via a sustainable cotton-template glycineenitrate combustion synthesis to yield superior anode materials for Li ion batteries. MnO nanoparticles with several nanometers were well-embedded in a porous N-doped carbon matrix. It displays the unique characteristics, including the shortened Li^+-ion transport path, increased contact areas with the electrolyte solution, inhibited volume changes and agglomeration of nanoparticles, as well as good conductivity and structural stability during the cycling process, thereby benefiting the superior cycling performance and rate capability. This favorable electrochemical performance of obtained MnO/N—C composites via a one-pot biomass-templated glycine/nitrate combustion synthesis renders the suitability as anode materials for Li-ion batteries.

Combustion synthesis of YAG:Ce phosphors via the thermite reaction of aluminum

Cerium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet（YAG：Ce） as a yellow phosphor for white light-emitting diodes（LEDs） was synthesized via a facile combustion method using Y2 O3, CeO2, Al2 O3, Al,and NaClO4 as raw materials. The combustion synthesis approach utilizes the strong exothermic oxidation of aluminum to realize a self-sustaining reaction. In this study, we investigated the effects of the ratios of Al2 O3 to AI,fluxes, and coprecipitated materials as raw materials on the luminescence properties of the synthesized YAG：Ce phosphors. When the amount of Al2 O3 x is varied, the combustion reaction proceeds at x ≤ 1.8,with x = 1.725 being the optimum condition for producing a high-performance product. When 5 wt%BaF2 is added, the luminescence intensity is significantly improved owing to a decrease of YAP（YAlO3）formation with improved uniformity. However, the addition of CaF2 and NaF does not improve the luminescence properties. To suppress the segregation of CeO2, we used the coprecipitated material Y2 O3-CeO2 as a raw material. Unlike with separate addition of Y2 O3 and CeO2, Ce ions are uniformly distributed in the coprecipitated material, resulting in improved luminescence properties. The combination of BaF2 and coprecipitated material significantly improves the internal quantum efficiency to83.0%, which is close to that of commercial phosphors.

目的:观察酒石酸美托洛尔联合胺碘酮治疗急性心肌梗死(AMI)合并恶性心律失常患者的效果。方法:选取2021年6月至2023年5月该院收治的65例AMI合并恶性心律失常患者进行前瞻性研究,按照随机数字表法将其分为观察组33例和对照组32例。两组均予以常规治疗,在此基础上,对照组予以胺碘酮治疗,观察组在对照组基础上联合酒石酸美托洛尔治疗,两组均连续治疗4周。比较两组临床疗效,治疗前后心肌损伤标志物[肌酸激酶同工酶(CK-MB)、肌红蛋白(Mb)、心肌肌钙蛋白I(cTnI)]、心功能指标[左心室舒张末期内径(LVEDD)、左心室收缩末期内径(LVESD)、左心室射血分数(LVEF)]水平,以及不良反应发生率。结果:观察组治疗总有效率为93.94%(31/33),高于对照组的75.00%(24/32),差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论:酒石酸美托洛尔联合胺碘酮治疗AMI合并恶性心律失常患者可提高治疗总有效率,降低心肌损伤标志物水平,改善心功能指标水平,效果优于单纯胺碘酮治疗。
